Director Wes Anderson and cast describe the set of the vintage boat and how it contributed to the theatre-like aspect of the film.
Bill Murray plays the quirky, egomaniacal captain of a research vessel, a la Jacques Cousteau. He's lost his partner to a shark gone insane, a la Moby Dick. He will seek his revenge, a la Captain Ahab. When his long-lost son (Owen Wilson) finds him and agrees to don the red cap and Speedos to hunt the shark by his side, things are looking good. But life at sea, much like life anywhere, is rarely smooth sailing.
