Three lives are tragically fused by a fatal accident. The film jumps from story to story and between past, present and future in a non-linear fashion that mimicks the piecemeal way in which disparate facts, situations, intuitions and emotions are fused to create a human understanding of the world. Twenty-one grams is purported to be the weight of the human soul. The film attempts to find the weight of love, of revenge, of pain, as well.
