An American Hero: Rosa Parks
Posted on: October 25, 2005 | Views: | Comment
Fifty years ago, on December 1, 1955, a young African-American seamstress broke the law which required her to give her seat up to a white passenger. Her arrest for "disorderly conduct," and the Montgomery Bus Boycott which followed, galvanized citizen spirit around the many injustices inherent in institutionalized racial segregation. The momentum evolved into the American Civil Rights Movement, dedicated to a long, mostly nonviolent struggle to bring civil rights and equality to all. IFILM respectfully remembers a life of principle and activism of civil rights leader, Rosa Parks.
