Björk - Oceania
Posted on: September 14, 2004 | Views: | Comment
Icelandic outre diva Bjork gets down deep underwater with a freaky-beat world-lounge groove. The mix is mostly vocals (like the rest of the songs of her Medulla CD), but it sounds like a marvelously warped orchestra. And those who remember her Oscar swan gown or her massive (300,000-square feet!) Olympic map-of-world frock won't be surprised that she's dressed outlandishly--covered head-to-toe in metallic sequins. Visually and sonically adventurous, "Oceania" is a mandatory-cool jolt of avant-pop.
