A mysterious monk and New York wise-ass join forces to protect an ancient scroll.
A mysterious monk with no identity other than being the protector of the Scroll of the Ultimate (which holds knowledge that will bestow upon the bearer ultimate power) must seek out a protege. He meets a superficially unworthy candidate who proves he's the one for the job. Then, together with an equally mysterious Bad Girl, the mortal superheroes drive the Scroll's most avid pursuer away.
