Buddy's Father (James Caan) takes him (Will Ferrell) to the doctor for a paternity test.
Will Ferrell plays Buddy, a human raised at the North Pole as an elf. He's too big and clumsy though, so when he becomes a man, he travels to New York City to find his father and live with humans. But NYC is a sad and scary place, where the snowmen don't talk and nobody believes in Santa. What's a man with the heart of an elf to do?
