A Texas schoolgirl whose ambition in life is to become host of Good Morning America decides she should learn a little more about the world at large. She talks her parents into hosting a French exchange student (Piper Perabo) for a year. At first, she's worried the newbie will damage her reputation with her quirky ways and silly clothes--then she wishes that were all she had to worry about!
