Part docudrama, part Alice in Wonderland skewed fantasy, this live-action and animated film uses storytelling and moviemaking techniques to bridge the gap between reality and insanity--with a Greek chorus of scientists on backup. By the time a woman notices the edges of her life fraying, it's already poised to take a complete nosedive, unraveling all the way into insanity. If she goes with the flow and keeps herself together, can sanity and insanity exist simultaneously in one, coherent person?
