Well, this used to be the movie where James Van Der Beek was going to show everybody how good-guy Dawson Leery could play a creep of a college frat boy, but by the time this thing debuted at the 2001 edition of Cannes, his role had been cut out--all of it. (Heather Matarazzo, from Solondz's Welcome to the Dollhouse, met the same grisly fate.) What's left of the movie? The basic premise: Going to school is tough.
