The Season 5 bantamweight tournament began Sept. 24 at Bellator 51 from Canton, Ohio. The card produced no shortage of knockouts, but none was more shocking than Alexis Vila putting Bellator featherweight champion Joe Warren to sleep with one punch in 64 seconds. Brazilian prospect Eduardo Dantas dispatched of Bellator veteran Wilson Reis with a flying knee, earning a second-round knockout. In women’s action, hometown favorite Jessica Eye bested Casey Noland in a close three-round battle. It only took nine seconds for Dan Spohn to land a vicious knee and win his Bellator debut. Bellator 70 Highlights (3:06)

Season Six of Bellator concluded with Bellator 70 from New Orleans, Louisiana. In the lightweight tournament finals, Rick Hawn scored a unanimous decision over the gritty Brent Weedman to secure a title shot against reigning 155-pound champ Michael Chandler. Cole Konrad only needed 60 seconds to defend his heavyweight title, as he took down Eric Prindle and slapped on a nasty kimura to force the submission. In the second bantamweight semifinal, Luis Nogueira scored an impressive third round TKO over Hiroshi Nakamura and meets Marcos Galvao in the tournament finals later this summer.
