Philip Seymour Hoffman talks about the development of his character for the film Capote.

Set in 1957, this film follows Truman Capote as he is sent by The New Yorker magazine to cover the brutal murder of a small-town family. In the course of his investigation, he forms a friendship with one of the killers, which makes it increasingly difficult to finish the book he started.
