How To Handle A Salary Question
Posted on: November 15, 2006 user submitted | Views: | Comment
www.fired.tv This week's job tip is how to handle the salary question? This often takes the form of the employer asking you how much money you are looking for. The best answer is, I'm open on the money, the key is the opportunity. The reason is whenever you state a specific amount (esp. in the first interview) our research shows that it is usually either too high or too low. If it's too high, you will knock yourself out of consideration. If it is too low, you may cheat yourself out of a couple thousand dollars extra.
That is why I recommend the best answer is always say, I'm open on the money, the key is the opportunity.Keep your cards close to your vest. Leave salary negotiations for later in the interview process. www.fired.tv
