J.R.
J.R. serves as the first mate and is the "grease monkey" Master Mechanic in crew. He is a master welder who will work on fixing the machinery, the underwater pumps and any other mechanical problems with the boat. He's heading to South Africa primarily because his captain asked him to, but he's also looking forward to the adventure and the potential riches. With the money, he hopes to finally gain financial independence.
