A third-generation miner, Kenneth has more than 20 years experience describes his first time in a mine as scary, low, dark and claustrophobic and constantly worried about rock fall. In time, though, he said he grew to love working in the mines. He’s an expert operator of the continuous miner machine, but no longer works underground at the request of his family because of the many hazards working inside the mine.
