Zach Makovsky made his professional mixed martial arts debut in 2006. After compiling an 8-2 record, he made his Bellator debut in June 2010. "Fun Size" scored a submission win in his promotional debut, and earned an invitation to the Season Three Bantamweight Tournament. The Philadelphia based fighter won the tournament and became Bellator's inaugural bantamweight champion.
After winning the title, Makovsky finished two fights in as many outings. He lost his title to Season Five Tournament Champion Eduardo Dantas at Bellator 65.
