Patricky "Pitbull" Freire turned himself into a household name a mere two fights into the Season 4 lightweight tournament. A professional since 2005, the Brazilian made the most of his big show opportunity. His Bellator debut saw him ruthlessly finish former WEC champion Rob McCullough with a big hook. "Pitbull" followed up with an even more impressive display, KOing Toby Imada with a flying knee in the first round that was a Knockout of the Year Nominee.
In the finals, he lost a decision to future lightweight champion Michael Chandler. In November of 2011 "Pitbull" made an emphatic return, TKOing longtime UFC-veteran Kurt Pellegrino in less than a minute. Freire returns to Bellator in Season 6, seeking revenge against Chandler.
