Each week on Deadliest Warrior, a new episode will pit two of the most feared warriors civilization has ever known against each other. Along with the use of 21st century science and the latest in CGI technology, each episode enlists warrior-specific world-class fighters and experts to provide insight into what makes these combatants tick, analyzing every facet of their unique skills of destruction, culminating in a head-to-head final fight between two legends of the battlefield that will produce the deadliest warrior. Just a play on your show title - Deadliest Warrior. Great show by the way - very interesting. "Deadliest" would infer 3 or more warriors, yet each episode only 2 are faced off. Perhaps "Deadlier" Warrior would have been a better title for the show? I guess hearing Deadliest Warrior each episode, I assumed the only way to make it correct would be to face them all off at the end and see who is "deadliest" - hasn't happened yet. Again, I really enjoy the show.

Am I the only person on earth who thinks this show is just stupid? Granted, I've only seen two episodes, but every word out of the hosts voice is BS, the conclusions they reach from their so called "test" are completely unscientific, and their guest "experts" are no better than the host. Not to mention most of the weapons and armor they use to perform the tests seems, from what I saw, to be cheap reproductions, hardly representative of what was actually used. Just as an example, the William Wallace episode is complete nonsense beginning to end. William Wallace was a Scottish *Knight*, would have been armed and armored exactly like an English Knight (Mounted, wearing a thick Gambeson, Maile, fighting with shield and sword...you get the idea.). There is absolutely no historical evidence for kilts or "claymore" swords until centuries after Wallace's death, and the blue face paint is nothing but a fantasy. A real, period basic one handed sword is more than able to lop off a head in a single swing( At the battle of Wisby, one of the corpses had both legs lopped off, in what appears to be a single swing...), the claymore they're using is several centuries after the time of Wallace...In the "tests" they're using cheap repro butted mail that just pops apart, not period riveted, heat tempered mail that period accounts describe as, when worn over a thick gambeson, more than enough to resist even shots from the long bow at all but point blank range. This show is just another venue to play up cliches forged by Hollywood, another "Extreme" show that has no basis in reality. And though I know there are probably a lot of people who disagree with me, I have to mention that I'm a student studying for my masters in Military history, not just a random guy who doesn't like the show...I apologize, I don't mean to rant, but I'm really offended that the show claims to be doing serious experimental archeology.

season 2 should have the celtics, huns, aztecs, boxers (chinese rebellion) in there for the older warriors, while the SAS, Hells Angels or Bandidos are good contenders to be with the modern ones

I have an idea for a Deadliest Warrior match, albeit it's a bit crazy. BATMAN vs SUPERMAN! Who'll win among these two great super heroes? It's a question most comic-fans would like to know. We got movies, comics, posters based on this. A detective mind vs super strength. Advanced technology vs alien powers. Though such a match up sounds crazy, it'll still be interesting. What say?

How about Shaka Zulu vs. Aztec? That would be epic in my opinion. And make sure the Aztec wins, not because I'm racist, but because they liked jaguars. I like jaguars too.

The producers said they were looking to use some horsed warriors next season. I am skeptical about this, as in warfare cavalry was typically used in mass charges or flanking maneuvers which required hundreds of individuals to execute, which really isn't in line with what the show has been doing so far. Still, I have a few suggestions which might work for one-on-one or squad-on-squad scenarios:
Mounted Knight vs. Mongol
Numidian Cavalry vs. Egyptian Chariot
Mamluk vs. Cossack
And a couple on-foot matchups:
Israeli Defense Forces vs. Vietcong
Celt vs Aztec
Great show. I acknowledge that the tests may not be entirely rigorous and much of the analysis in each episode is speculative in nature, but it's still a very entertaining and exciting way to learn about these warrior classes, their motivations and weaponry. And the simulation at the end of each episode is badass every time.
Haters who gripe about how certain tests are unrealistic or how they didn't mention some particular aspect of a weapon need to see the forest from the trees - overall, the team's doing a great job. Ultimately this show is hypothetical by its very nature, but at least they're drawing their conclusions from some semblance of empirical support, rather than the people here who only present anecdotal or purely speculative arguments.

I think that I.R.A shouldn't of faced of with the talibans, apparently the I.R.A have faced the british redcoats so i think that there should be 2 test. Reasons are that they had different weapons, obviusly they didn't have any bombs. So i think that episode is messed up poo.

My friend whose about 6"2' 250 pounds against a cheetah. Im trying to convince him that he would get torn apart but he wont believe me... can you please help me convince him...

It would be nice to see the NAVY SEAL vs the SAS, one thing I think is left out which plays a HUGE role in combat is the fact of the psychological up bringing of each warrior. For example the Spartan vs Ninja, Spartans were brought up to die on the battlefield, where as the Ninja would die if need be but would rather run from thier opponent to return in a more stealthy fashion to defeat them. Granted we are talking about if they met on face to face terms, skill vs skill, and weapons vs weapons. For example during the Civil War, soldiers would simply load thier weapons with gun powder and fire making it seem like they were actually firing to kill thier enemy but of course were not do to the fact that they did not want to actually kill another human being. But if it did come down to it, the individual would choose thier life over anothers, especially thier enemys'. We would like to believe that every warrior fought and killed without thinking twice, but that was not always the case.
All in all this show is awsome, great stuff! We need more shows like this, with the awsome brutal combat mixed with historical facts to teach us more about cultures and history.0 replies Reply Flag comment as inappropriate

I just watch the U.S. Army Green Berets VS. Russian Spetsnaz. That episode drove me nuts You guys did admit it would be close but the U.S. special forces use's and trains on way more than the given weapons. The army dose use semi auto shot guns and the Beretta FS92 9mm is not the only hand gun in service. A popular model right now is the H&K 45. The 45 cal. can deliver a harder hit than its 9mm counter part. When talking guns ammo is also a huge part. The Green Berets all so carry knifes and some carry tomahawks. A spring loaded knife is cool but a Green Beret would reload their gun and not chase after a guy. Entertaining show though.

My biggest issue was with the Ninja vs the Spartan. Ninja are spies, thieves, and assassins. Direct combat is a last resort. So putting him up against a heavily armored warrior like the Spartan was illogical. A ninja would have slipped away and waited till night fall and killed the Spartan in his sleep. Ninja were not under any code of honor so there was no need for it to stay and fight. Maybe its just me but that Match up was kind of flawed.
Also, The Knight vs Pirate had some big issues. The pirate took a direct blow to the chest from a morning star and got back up!! Not gonna happen. Also, why didn't the knight try and move when he was lying on the beach? No human being just lays there with no sign of attempting to move while there enemy scrambles off to arm himself and do what he did.
So yeah, these two match up in my opinion had some big flaws and I would like to see the Ninja and Knight in a new episodes, not necessarily against each other.0 replies Reply Flag comment as inappropriate

So glass balls were good and poison spit was not WTF. and i am realy curious on the programing of the sumulations one reason of many is that hard direct inpact is so mush more easaly adaptebel into a simulation! Id realy love to ce his data to creat the programing and the end resolts of each episode exept for the mafia one that one was intresting but not practical at all.

Great show but the Mafia one was stupid it made no sence what so ever. They should stick to Warriors in batel, and i am very intriged by this program i would love to now more about it and haw it anylises each sonario with the data that they pick up wish i find flaude. The green Beret Vs. Spatsnaz episode was rediculas! Worst display of a comparison between two of anything! The weapons were tested in completely different scenarios and none of which have anything to do with combat situations! There was no control in any of the tests, the weapons were compared in different tests of attributes. A grenade in a washer vs a grenade in a plexiglass box?? Not comparable to determine the blast impact! A single shot flying knife, being shot through clay pots Vs. a battle axe that can take heads off repeatedly? and the flying knife won? This show has great potential to amusingly compare weapons and battle techniques but they are not even getting close to accurate outcomes! If your gonna do it, Do it right! The show was a huge disappointment and i can't believe it was aired.

GREEN BERET VS SPETZNAZ.............REALLY
This was one of the worst episodes on TV, really two geeks and a damn doctor didn't notice that it was alot of bs. Well actually they probably had no clue since they were testing the basic functions of these weapons. They obviously don't know anything about combat weapons since they are not always cleaned and in perfect shape. They should have tested the durablity of all the weapons. I had one of the Spetsnaz' spring loaded knives and they worked alright as long as they came in no contact with dirt,dust,mud,sand,debri,or pretty much anything in the spring loaded handle. Also they seemed to think that the Russian Spetsnaz training is alot more in depth than the US Spec Ops. They are sadly mistaken and there ignorance angered me....The Spec-Ops are trained to use and to completly dismantle an aray of weapons as the Spetsnaz' only know those 5 weapons. The producers of this show should have actually tried to do some justice. Unlike swords, bows, and spears firearms are a bit more advanced and well they can jam and not be as accuracte after they have came in contact with water, mud, dirt,ect...If I was a host on the show I would have made each of them drop there pistols in dirt and to submerge there rifles in water and then fire them.....So hopefully the producers or someone with some authority will read this and think about making some changes to this show to make it a better and I would like to be a host and make it a show worth watching0 replies Reply Flag comment as inappropriate
