Pros vs. Joes returns to Spike TV with a new format for its fourth season. Michael Strahan and Jay Glazer join together as hosts for the new season of Pros vs. Joes 4: All-Stars. This season, the Joes will only be competing in one of two sports. The two sports featured are football and basketball.

In football, the Joes will compete with such NFL greats as Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown, NFL MVP Rich Gannon, sacking legend Simeon Rice, 2004 Special Teams Player of the Year Adam "Pacman" Jones, 2003 Co-NFL MVP Steve "Air" McNair, and 2002 Offensive Player of the Year Priest Holmes. In basketball, the Joes will face-off against such NBA legends as two-time Defensive Player of the Year Alonzo Mourning, "The Reignman" Shawn Kemp, All-Star shooting guard Antoine Walker, "Mr. Clutch" Robert Horry, five-time NBA champion Ron Harper and 3-point shooting legend Eddie Jones.

Casting for this past season began in late July/07 and ended September 15/07. They had applicants submit the application online and then attend one of the half dozen or so tryouts that were held nationwide. I run www.VPTVCompetitions.blogspot.com, where you can bring up the Pro v Joe listings and then enter your email address in the subscribe box in the right hand sidebar. That way you'll get a email notice when casting opens, which past evidence suggests will be around the 4th of July.

I'd like to see you so called real joes get through half the things we had to do this year. I guess that would be a challenge to you to make it on the show, if you can even make it past the tryouts!!! Holla at the Champ.

After a couple season watching this sports reality Pro versus Joe contest, now evolved into a tournament event. The only thing the Pro proves is why steriods are hurting sports and looking good is better than playing a fair game. There a probably contenders nationwide who can't get on Pro versus Joe "Shmo" due to their equal size and abilities.

True their skill level maybe semi pro at best , but it would make for a better contest. How would a pro look facing off with a simi pro in the same size and weight class. Yes I've seen the pro smaller in size than the joe, proving a retard is no match for a pro ether,"of any size!" Most of the time it's a mini wanna be versus a towering sports legend. Pro versus Joe pick from the very bottom of the bunch, to play sports also requires a mental edge as well a physical stature. A trash talker is a clear sign of a Shmo. That's why I think they should rename the show Pro Versus Shmo!

Taking The Pro's out of their element is a positive. Jerry Rice on ice skates was pretty cool. John Elway proved to have a very powerful golf swing. This proves my point of having a mental edge when playing sports. Jerry Rice took it slow on the ice skates, but I believe they still beat the joe.

Hello everyone! I was on last years show! It is all about luck. I do find it funny how you fill out a ton of paperwork, them asking what sports you played in the past. Only to find out that your on a show that starts off with the sport that is your least favorite. I would like to know how many this happened to? I guess they don't want you to compete in your strongest area. It would look bad for Angle to get taken down, or Jones JR. to get knocked on his ass etc. The bottom line is; "SPIKE, don't waste anyone's time this year bringing them down only to take out one another. Bring the people on the show and give them all their shot at kicking some PRO ass. If SPIKE does anything other than this, It will be a major disapointment!!!!! For those of you who get your shot at the washed up pros., Give them a shot for me...as I didn't get my chance to knock them down!!!!

Hey now! Yea I was on this years show also, I agree that luck is a HUGE factor. I was lucky enough to not get eliminated right off the bat, if that happened to me I would have most likely broke a camera or something in sheer anger. I was also fortunate enough to be able to play in the hockey event, which is one of my better sports. I really wanted to hit a 100mph fastball off of Rocker or try to return a serve from Ginepri tho. If you go on with the mentality like I am the best or I got to win it all you will most likely waste your 2 days off of work to do this. Remember, there is a strong chance you will most likely be caught playing in an event you have no idea how to play or never played before. So just have some laughs and drink plenty of beer and you will leave with a few extra points on your lifetime scoreboard. I do agree that it would be good to see some seriuos Joes beat down a Pro, but I also liked seeing some joes get wheeled, i thought that shit was funny too. I think Spike did a decent job of balancing this. There was one joe named Dallas who was most likely the best athlete out of the show and he didnt win. Just think that man may qualify for the olympics and win a medal, but didnt win in pros vs joes. So by people saying that this years joes were all "chumps" or "schmos" (havent heard that word since 1985) is stupid. The show should be correctly renamed Pros vs Jax, since the best athlete does not win this show it is usually the best Jack of all trades. So just drink a beer and relax boyz.

Hey i love this show but I am really getting tired of watching joes who really arn't very good at any of the sports! I know you have to make the OLD pros look good but at least make it a challenge for them! I can play any sport and have played every sport. I have more awards and medals then i have room for. Im sure since i'm Canadian I can't be on the show but that's only because you guys know thats us Canadian boys PLAY TO WIN, GO BIG OR GO HOME. If your pros want a real challenge bring in better talent to face them!!!

Its funny I watch the show and watch these short fat lazy and slow Joes trying to keep up with Pro's. There is a reason why they are Pros and these guys are Joe's. Talent!!!! The Joes on every one of the episodes have no talent. I am from alaska and the only things we have contributed to sports is Carlos Buser and Trajen Langdon "The Alaskan Assassin" lol Well i am anticipating the next season and maybe there might be some real talent coming from the Joe side of the house. I am in the Air Force and I know I can whoop up on every single one of the Joes that has ever participating in the show. You all have a good day.

I watch your show and really enjoy it up to the point where the pros aren't able to take it when a joe starts to do well against them. I recently watched the episode that had marley, coffey and the football player whose name I forget, and the football player cost the joe a shot at the finals by laying on him and holding when he should have let him go.

I understand about being competitive but I also understand about fair play. These guys are pros and kids look up to them. Time to get over it boys. I am a big fan of most the pro athletes but I have a hard time respecting anyone who is unable to realize we all slow down whether we want to admit it or not.

There should have been a way for the joe to get a fair shot at the finals. I'm sure I am not the only one who watched that show and felt the same way.
