Our fine friends at Warner Brothers sent over new photos from the upcoming film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth installment in the long running, gazillion dollar franchise that doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. This time the focus is on the evolution of Draco Malfoy as well as Harry's feelings for Ginny Weasley. We'll also be introduced to Jim Broadbent as potions teacher Professor Slughorn and get to see Harry develop some interesting concoctions after he discovers a book marked with "The Property of the Half-Blood Prince." Check out the new photos after the jump. continue to full article »

Here is the new poster for writer/director Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army, which hits theaters July 11th. This is going to be one of the big sleepers of the summer. The first film made $100 million worldwide and was well received by critics and fans alike. Guillermo has garnered more recognition since the first Hellboy with Pan’s Labyrinth and the announcement he’ll be directing the highly anticipated Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit.
The new poster captures perfectly the sensibilities of this film: Super dark but still with a sense of humor.

The NBA has come up with a really interesting advertisement for this year’s Playoffs. In the past they've tied in with Superman Returns, and this year it's with Adam Sandler's new movie, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan.
This ad in specific features Baron Davis, of the Golden State Warriors and Sandler himself. I'd love to hear the conversation at the next Klan meeting if they discussed this proposed merger of the black Davis and the Jewish Sandler. It could provoke a rage never seen since, well, Sammy Davis Jr.?
Check out the full promo after the jump.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jonah Hill is confirmed to write and executive produce Sony’s adaptation of 21 Jump Street, the 80’s pop show starring Johnny Depp.
Is this really odd or is it just me? I don’t get it. Jonah Hill (Superbad, Knocked Up) has no previous writing or producing credits but now has been hired to write and produce 21 Jump Street?!! It hasn't been decided whether Hill will actually star in the movie but at this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hill played the role of Officer Hanson previously played by Johnny Depp. I’m calling it right now.

As the comic book invasion of cinema goes into its 8th year, one thing is clear: being a Superhero is big business. The problem is, how many times can we see a hero fly around save the world and get the girl?
Will Smith's new movie, Hancock, seems to have an answer. The Superhero is a jerk.
It's a novel concept, and in honor of it Spike.com is breaking down the theatrical trailer to provide insight into how Columbia Pictures is looking to pull this off, by breaking down the trailer to this much anticipated movie. continue to full article »

Frank Miller blogs about the success of the recent New York Comic-Con and the city that gave birth to The Spirit.
EXCLUSIVE: SPIRIT BLOG#8
NEW YORK REPORT
The recent New York Comic-Con was a blast. Just three years on, the show has made it clear that it wants to be a healthy rival to the San Diego Goliath.
Allow this New Yorker a moment to be thrilled by this development. It’s good for everybody, especially, and incidentally, it’s good for my friends in San Diego, who have startled the entertainment world by transforming their show from a lonely shepherd for a much-maligned story form —comic books — into a pop culture force to be reckoned with. Well done, friends: now let’s see what my town can do to compete! continue to full article »
