The two-hour event, which took place at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY, will treat fans to performances by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Jerry Seinfeld, David Letterman, Jon Stewart, Tracy Morgan, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Regis Philbin, Brian Williams, and Johnny Depp, along with toasts from Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy, Ray Romano and Jimmy Kimmel.

Highlights include an opening monologue from Seinfeld, a stand-up legend himself, introducing the guest of honor as one of the four faces on the “Mount Rushmore of stand-up comedy”; a surprisingly heartfelt tribute from Tracy Morgan, which alternated between touching moments and side-splitting punchlines; and a set by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler that brought down the house, turning Rickles’ signature biting style around on him.  And in a rare appearance, David Letterman closed out the evening and introduced the man of the hour, Don Rickles.

Scott Marshall Named Season 4 Winner Of “Ink Master” In Live Season Finale

Season 5 Details and Exclusive “Rivals” Match Up Revealed

New York, NY, May 20, 2014 – In a live finale that was both fierce and thrilling, Scott Marshall was named winner of Season 4 of “Ink Master.”  Marshall wins a cash prize of $100,000, a feature article in the premiere tattoo publication Inked and the ultimate bragging rights title of ‘Ink Master.’ In addition, Season 3 rivals Joshua Hibbard and Jason Clay Dunn returned to the “Ink Master” stage to announce that they will be competing on Season 5 of the series.

Seventeen of the top tattoo artists from around the country battled it out all season in permanent ink, competing in various tattoo challenges that not only tested the artists’ technical skills, but also their on-the-spot creativity where they had to create and execute an original tattoo on a ‘human canvas.’ Each week’s challenges focused on a different tattoo technique and style.   After every challenge the contestants faced a tough panel made up series host Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) and judges, renowned tattoo artists Chris Nunez (“Miami Ink”) and Oliver Peck (Elm Street Tattoo).  The masterpieces these artists created will last forever, but so will their mistakes.

The final three contestants: Walter ‘Sausage’ Frank, tattoo artist at Club Tattoo in Las Vegas, NV, Matti Hixson, a self-employed tattoo artist from West Virginia, VA and Scott Marshall, tattoo artist at Roselle Tattoo Co. in Roselle, IL were each assigned their own master canvas.   They were sent back to their home bases to complete a 35-hour tattoo, where they had five, seven-hour sessions with their master canvas to create the best tattoo design of their career.

In the finale Frank, Hixson and Marshall revealed their master canvases to the judges and America.   After the judges reviewed the artwork, Matti Hixson was eliminated from the competition.  In the end it came down to Walter ‘Sausage’ Frank and Scott Marshall with the judges in a close call, ultimately naming Marshall the season 4 winner of “Ink Master.”

During the show, one lucky fan was given the opportunity to get inked by Season 3 winner, Joey “Hollywood” Hamilton.  Using #TATTbyJOEY this season, fans were able to tweet their out-of-the-box tattoo ideas which resulted in Irmak Ayverdi of Bronx, NY getting a tattoo of a four seasons tree LIVE on air during the finale.

The first details regarding Season 5 of “Ink Master,” slated to debut Tuesday, September 2 were also revealed during the finale. Series host Dave Navarro announced that next season every artist is coming to the competition with a rival including two of the most infamous rivals in “Ink Master” history, season 3 contestants Joshua Hibbard and Jason Clay Dunn.

Leading up to the Season 4 finale of “Ink Master” concludes tonight, the series had averaged 1.9 million viewers, the highest in franchise history.  The weekly tattoo-competition series has improved the timeslot in the gender-balanced demographics of Adults 18-49 by a staggering 161% and Adults 18-34 by 215%.

Miami Expansion Builds Upon “Tattoo Nightmares” Success

New York, NY, May 9, 2014 – Spike TV is franchising its successful “Tattoo Nightmares” series to Miami, where three new tattoo artists are set to tackle the most difficult clients and tattoos America has to offer. The network has ordered 10 half-hour episodes of “Tattoo Nightmares Miami” from series producer 495 Productions.  “Tattoo Nightmares Miami” is slated to go into production this Spring and join the network’s highly-rated Tuesday night tattoo-themed programming block this Fall.

In addition to the jaw-dropping cover-ups that “Tattoo Nightmares” is already well-known for, this new series will have the added twist of taking on some of the craziest requests for original tattoos.   Whether it is tattooing someone’s head, palms of their hands or a major surgery scar, these tattoos are so difficult that the client’s only hope to make them a reality are the artists at Tattoo Nightmares: Miami.

“Tattoo Nightmares Miami” brings together three new artists with diverse backgrounds.  The three started this new shop to service the growing needs of extreme clients where the more bizarre the tattoo and story behind them, the better.  The shop’s artists are Clint Cummings, a former contestant on “Ink Master” season 2; local artist Samuel Suarez, better known to his clients as High Noon and female fine artist and tattooist, Reese Hilburn from Southern California. Together, these three artists will turn tattoo disaster pieces into masterpieces and translate difficult tattoos into stunning works of art.

“Tattoo Nightmares” is among the new crop of Spike original series that deliver a gender-balanced audience. The current season is averaging 1.1 million viewers has improved the time period by +147% in Adults 18-49 and 82% in average audience.   Among all ad-supported cable channels in the Tuesday 10-11:30 PM time period, Spike TV’s tattoo-themed programming block “Ink Master” and “Tattoo Nightmares” ranks in the Top 5 among Adults, Men and Women 18-49 and 18-34.

“Tut” reveals, for the first time on television, the story of the Egyptian Pharaoh, one of the most renowned leaders in human history.  This ambitious special-event series tells the story of Tut’s rise to power and his struggle to lead Egypt to glory, while his closest advisors, friends and lovers scheme for their own nefarious interests. “Tut” opens up a fascinating window into a world filled with heart-breaking romance, epic battles, political backstabbing, conspiracy, jealousy, and even murder — proving his world was not far removed from our own — and that his reign as the youngest Egyptian king played out as a real-life drama for the ages.

This will be Spike TV’s first scripted event series in eight years and is another step in the network’s move to reaching a more gender-balanced audience.

Capon graduated from Johnson & Wales University and while in culinary school, Charlie Palmer selected Capon as the culinary “extern” at Aureole, Palmer’s acclaimed Manhattan restaurant. After graduating in 1994, Capon accepted an offer from Palmer to assist in the opening of The Lenox Room. From there, he went on to work for David Burke at the Park Avenue Café, where he was offered an exchange opportunity to work in Europe. He spent the next year honing his cooking skills in several different restaurants throughout France, Italy, Germany and Spain before returning to the US and building his own culinary empire. Capon is also a four-time champion of Rachael Ray’s annual Burger Bash competition.

Tony Luke Jr. is a restaurateur, entertainer, actor, musician, Philly’s favorite son and the face behind Tony Luke’s.  Tony Luke’s has 20 stores nationally and in the Middle East.  Tony Luke’s has been praised by Gourmet magazine, The New York Times, GQ and is included in Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best of Philly” Hall of Fame.  Luke is a graduate of the famed Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts.  His acting credits include Invincible, 10th & Wolf, and The Nail.

“One Night Only: An All-Star Comedy Tribute to Don Rickles” (#OneNightOnly) tapes at the storied Apollo Theater in New York City, Rickles’ hometown, on Tuesday, May 6.  The 90-minute special, produced in conjunction with Don Mischer Productions, airs on Spike TV on Wednesday, May 28 at 9:00pm ET/PT.

SPIKE TV ORDERS A SECOND SEASON OF “CATCH A CONTRACTOR” STARRING ADAM CAROLLA

The New Episodes Will Be Extended From 30 Minutes To One Hour

 

New York, NY, April 16, 2014 – Spike TV has ordered a 10-episode second season of its new original series, “Catch A Contractor,” starring Adam Carolla and produced by Eyeworks USA. The announcement was made today by Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike TV.  The new episodes will be an hour long, up from season one’s half-hour episodes.

Season two will go into production this summer, and debut in fall 2014.

“Catch A Contractor” debuted Sunday, March 9, and, after seven original telecasts, is averaging 1.2 million viewers. The premiere episode was the most-watched debut of a Spike original series in nearly three years.

“We are thrilled to partner with Adam and his team for another season of a show that, in only a few weeks, has resonated with our growing gender-balanced audience,” said Levy. “Season two is certainly great news for the audience, and even better news for homeowners.”

“Catch A Contractor” is created and produced by Eyeworks USA (“Extreme Weight Loss,” “Bar Rescue”) with JD Roth, Todd A. Nelson, Brant Pinvidic, DJ Nurre, Andy Scheer and Adam Carolla serving as Executive Producers.  Sharon Levy is Spike TV’s Executive Vice President, Original Series, Chris Rantamaki is Senior Vice President of Original Series for Spike TV, and Jeff Savaiano serves as the network’s Executive in Charge of Production.

In “Catch a Contractor,” host and master carpenter Adam Carolla and his team, consisting of no-nonsense, expert contractor Skip Bedell and his wife, private investigator Alison Bedell, are on a mission to track down shady, evasive contractors and drag them back to the scene of their crimes to face the music and fix the disasters they left behind.

Spike TV Orders 5th Season of “Auction Hunters”

SPIKE TV ORDERS 20 EPISODES OF “AUCTION HUNTERS,” THE NETWORK’S LONGEST RUNNING ORIGINAL NON-SCRIPTED SERIES

New York, NY, April 11, 2014 –– Spike TV has ordered a new season of 20 episodes of “Auction Hunters,” the network’s longest-running non-scripted original series that has successfully broadened and expanded the channel’s audience.  The fifth season of “Auction Hunters” will go into production this summer and debut this fall.

For the new season, the show’s stars, Allen Haff and Ton Jones, will expand their horizons to more than just storage unit auctions. This dynamic duo will traverse the country in search of the best deals, from cattle auctions to police auctions to, of course, their favorite storage auctions – all in the goal of finding fortune.    

The current season of “Auction Hunters” (January 18-April 5) has averaged 1.5 million viewers and has improved the timeslot on Saturdays at 9pm in the key demographic of Adults 18-34 by 25%.

New York, NY, April 02, 2014 – World-renowned bar and nightlife expert Jon Taffer teams up with acclaimed celebrity chef and author John Besh and “Top Chef All-Star” Tiffany Derry to vet competing restaurants and decide which is worthy of a significant investment in Spike TV’s new series “Hungry Investors,” produced by Eyeworks USA.  Premiering Sunday, May 4 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT, the esteemed “Hungry Investors” trio will take their search for “diamond in the rough” restaurants – establishments that are struggling, despite having amazing potential to succeed – across the country to Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA and Las Vegas, NV, among others.

The new original series will track these business savvy experts as they make life-altering investments into restaurants that demonstrate the most promise for success.  The owners will seek to prove to Taffer, Besh and Derry that the only thing keeping them from financial fortune and success is finding an investor who believes in them.

In each episode, two local restaurants that serve the same type of cuisine (i.e. Mexican, sushi, barbeque, etc.) are pitted against each other as they make every effort to demonstrate to the “Hungry Investors” that their business is willing to make the necessary adjustments to maximize the return on an investment. After the expert team utilizes rigorous “Invest Tests” to get to the core of the operation and the business owners’ abilities, one establishment may earn a substantial investment. These highly skilled entrepreneurs are not afraid to tell it like it is, and offer their combined decades of expertise in the food and hospitality industry to these equally strong-willed business owners.  Which restaurants will heed the experts’ advice, beat out the competition, and earn this once in a lifetime opportunity to save their business?

“Hungry Investors” will premiere on May 4 at 10:00 PM and then moves to 9:00 PM starting May 18 for the remainder of the season.

The “Hungry Investors” team is a venerable all-star squad of restaurateurs, featuring three experts from different parts of the country who possess sharp business acumen and impeccable knowledge of the food industry.

A longtime fixture in the bar and nightclub business, Jon Taffer, star of Spike TV’s highly rated series “Bar Rescue,” is also an internationally recognized, award-winning restaurant operator, owner and concept developer. He’s a respected industry “voice” with 30 years of hands-on experience in over 800 establishments worldwide, with expertise in the creation, development and management of casual restaurants, entertainment venues, nightclubs, bars, stadium and arena food service, resort facilities and large theme restaurants.  In January 2010, Taffer was appointed President of Questex Media Group LLC’s Nightclub & Bar Media Group, which includes the Nightclub & Bar Convention and Trade Show, Nightclub & Bar magazine and related digital media products.

John Besh is the executive chef and co-owner of Besh Restaurant Group, based in New Orleans, in addition to his work as an author and philanthropist. His collection of ten highly acclaimed restaurants includes August (twice nominated for the James Beard “Outstanding Restaurant” Award), La Provence, Lüke, Lüke San Antonio, Besh Steak, American Sector, Soda Shop, Domenica, Pizza Domenica and Borgne. He has been recognized with several of the highest honors awarded to a chef, including the James Beard Foundation’s “Who’s Who” in 2014, Food & Wine‘s “Ten Best New Chefs in America” in 1999 and “Best Chef in the Southeast” by the James Beard Foundation in 2006. In 2007, the Sundance Iconoclasts series featured him as a creative visionary whose passion helped transform a culture. Besh’s two cookbooks, “My New Orleans” (October 2009) and “My Family Table” (November 2011) were each recognized with an International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) Award, and his third cookbook, “Cooking From The Heart,” was published in fall 2013. Beaumont, Texas native Tiffany Derry began her career in hospitality when she was 15 years old at International House of Pancakes (IHOP). By age 17, she was the youngest person ever to earn a management position in the company. After attending The Art Institute of Houston, Derry worked her way up to executive sous chef at Grotto Cucina Napolitano. Later, she moved to Dallas to become an instructor at the Art Institute of Dallas Culinary School, and also served as executive chef at the acclaimed Go Fish Ocean Club. Derry gained national fame as a contestant on the seventh season of Bravo’s “Top Chef.” Derry’s overall talent and strong demeanor led her far into the competition, and made her a natural choice for “Top Chef All-Stars,” where she made it to the final four.  Most recently Derry was brought on to help Patrick Halbert and Andy Austin build the Private | Social restaurant in Dallas from the ground up.  Derry is also the recipient of The Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU) 2013 Hall of Fame Award.
