Spike TV Presents a Compelling Inside Look at the Life of America’s Greatest Daredevil, Evel Knievel

September 2nd, 2014 by SPIKE Press

SPIKE TV PRESENTS A COMPELLING INSIDE LOOK AT THE LIFE OF AMERICA’S GREATEST DAREDEVIL,

EVEL KNIEVEL

“I AM EVEL KNIEVEL” Premieres Wednesday, September 10 at 11:00pm ET/PT Featuring Interviews With Matthew McConaughey, Kid Rock, Robbie Maddison, Guy Fieri, Michelle Rodriguez, Among Others

New York, NY, September 2, 2014 – Spike TV presents a revealing look at America’s most infamous daredevil, Evel Knievel, in the original Spike TV documentary “I Am Evel Knievel.”  The 90-minute special will premiere on Spike TV Wednesday, September 10 at 11:00pm ET/PT.

“I Am Evel Knievel” will combine original exclusive interviews with archival footage of this larger- than-life character to tell Knievel’s incredible story. Featured interviews include Matthew McConaughey, Kid Rock, Michelle Rodriguez, Guy Fieri, Robbie Maddison, and family members including sons Kelly and Robbie, and former wives Linda Knievel and Krystal Kennedy-Knievel.

The enduring legacy of Evel Knievel is the unforgettable death-defying jumps. The documentary will feature footage of Evel’s greatest jumps, including the seminal Snake River Canyon and Caesars Palace jumps. The film also showcases Knievel’s rise from a small town rebel in Butte, Montana, to a cultural icon whose rise to superstardom was built on nerves of steel and the ability to get up and do it again no matter the severity of the fall. He lived life like every day was his last, which led to a tumultuous life filled with stunts no man would ever dream of, encompassing meteoric success, wild hubris, egomaniacal mistakes and ultimately redemption.

“I Am Evel Knievel” is a journey of discovery, led by those who knew him best and were inspired to achieve greatness of their own. It is the untold story of this legendary figure who gave birth to the culture and the meaning of the word “extreme.” “My dad proceeded through life as if limitations of his own imagination, courage and abilities did not exist – it was really something to grow up with,” stated Kelly Knievel.

Spike is broadcasting “I Am Evel Knievel” honoring the 40 year anniversary of the famous Snake River Canyon jump, where Knievel miraculously survived an attempt to clear the canyon in a rocket-powered cycle, the Skycycle X-2.

“When Evel hit the ground hard, he hit the bullseye in an America that was hungry for heroes, hungry for men who scoffed at danger and walked away from death,” said Director/Producer Derik Murray. “Evel Knievel was the first, the original, the craziest daredevil that ever lived.  He did it on heavier bikes, and he did it without the technology and experience that comes with today’s action sports heroes.”

Spike TV’s Kevin Kay, Jaimee Kosanke and Christopher Martello serve as Executive Producers along with Murray, Paul Gertz, Kent Wingerak, and Robert Pirooz, as well as Kelly Knievel and Ron DiNicola. The documentary is the latest in Spike TV’s original “I Am” series. The network debuted the critically acclaimed “I Am Steve McQueen” earlier this year and ‘I Am Bruce Lee” in 2012, also produced by Murray.

August 19th, 2014 by faziod

Brand New City, All New Cast…

“TATTOO NIGHTMARES MIAMI” TAKES ON THE TATTOOS THAT NO OTHER ARTISTS WOULD DARE

Series Premieres Tuesday, September 2 at 11 PM, ET/PT As Part of Spike’s

#Tattoosday Programming Block

New York, NY, August 19, 2014 –  It’s a brand new city and three brand new hot-shot artists who feel the Miami heat as they take on impossible tattoo challenges and the most exasperating clients yet with the series premiere of “Tattoo Nightmares Miami” on Tuesday, September 2 at 11 PM, ET/PT on Spike.   The show is a spinoff of the network’s successful “Tattoo Nightmares” original series, which is based in an LA shop.

In addition to the jaw-dropping cover-ups that “Tattoo Nightmares” is already well-known for, the Miami shop tackles nightmare tattoos other shops have turned away. For example, tattoo placement over a horrific scar, an entire head, a giant mole or an elbow or knee, as well as using materials such as glow-in-the-dark ink or new techniques like water color style tattoos. It’s up to three brand new artists to translate all these problematic and difficult tattoos into stunning works of art.

The three new artists of “Tattoo Nightmares Miami” come together with diverse backgrounds.  The three started this new shop to service the growing needs of extreme clients where the more bizarre the tattoo and story behind them, the better.  The shop’s artists are Clint Cummings, a former contestant on “Ink Master” season 2; local artist Samuel Suarez, better known to his clients as High Noon and female fine artist and tattooist, Reese Hilburn.

“Tattoo Nightmares” is among the new crop of Spike original series that deliver a gender-balanced audience. The current season is averaging 1.1 million viewers has improved the time period by +147% in Adults 18-49 and 82% in average audience.   Among all ad-supported cable channels in the Tuesday 10-11:30 PM time period, Spike TV’s tattoo-themed programming block “Ink Master” and “Tattoo Nightmares” ranks in the Top 5 among Adults, Men and Women 18-49 and 18-34.

Both “Tattoo Nightmares Miami” and “Tattoo Nightmares” are produced by 495 Productions with Founder and President SallyAnn Salsano serving as Executive Producer along with Joel Zimmer of 495 Productions.

SPIKE TV TEAMS UP WITH RAY LEWIS TO HELP COACHES WITH ANGER ISSUES IN “COACHING BAD”

New Series Showcases Lewis And Anger Management Specialist Dr. Christian Conte As They Put 9 Coaches Through An Intense Program To Change Their Combative Ways

IRWIN ENTERTAINMENT (“Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew,” “Couples Therapy”) Will Executive Produce

Series Shoots In Los Angeles This Summer and Debuts in 1st Qtr 2015

New York, NY, August 4, 2014 – Good coaches motivate us, inspire us, and teach us the skills to win.  However, there is a growing epidemic of coaches with uncontrollable anger issues spreading across today’s sports landscape. From Bobby Knight to Mike Rice, too many men and women coaching American athletes, of all ages, often cross the line in what is acceptable behavior on the sidelines or in the dugout.

Spike TV has brought together NFL legend Ray Lewis and acclaimed anger management specialist and author Dr. Christian Conte to tackle bad coaching and anger management head on in the new original series, “Coaching Bad.”

The show features nine coaches who have recognized that they need to change their combative and often bombastic ways if they want to continue in the profession they love. The coaches, who come from a variety of different sports from all around the country, move into a Coaching Center in Los Angeles for intense retraining and reconditioning.

This impactful and intensive program, designed personally by Dr. Conte and Lewis, will include three phases of transformation; assessing the coaches’ baseline anger issues; working to create real change; and putting that change to the test.

For many of the coaches, their anger issues have also seriously damaged their relationship with family members and their current employers. For some, the retraining program might be their last chance to save their marriage or keep their jobs.

During the course of the retraining program, various sports figures will lend their perspective on the negative effects of caustic coaching. The list of guest speakers includes Chuck Pagano, Bill Romanowski, and Glen “Big Baby” Davis.

John Irwin, Damian Sullivan and Richard Hall are executive producers for Irwin Entertainment.

Spike TV has ordered eight one-hour episodes of “Coaching Bad.”  The series is shooting in Los Angeles this summer and will debut in the 1st qtr of 2015. Hayley Lozitsky, Vice President, Development, Spike TV will serve as the Executive in Charge of Production. Sharon Levy is Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike TV and Chris Rantamaki is Spike TV’s Senior Vice President, Original Series.

“Spike TV is thrilled to partner with one of the greatest players in NFL history in a compelling new series that will shine a light on the ever-growing issue of coaches and their anger issues,” said Levy. “Who better than Ray to bestow insight and wisdom to these coaches after his storied career as a leader on and off the field during his playing days with the University of Miami and Baltimore Ravens.”

One of the greatest linebackers in NFL history, Ray Lewis played 17 years with the Baltimore Ravens and was named to 13 Pro Bowls and awarded NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2000 and 2003. Lewis won two Super Bowls with the Ravens (named MVP in Super Bowl XXXV) and is currently an NFL broadcaster with ESPN.

Dr. Christian Conte was an award-winning, tenured professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, before he left the West Coast to return to his home state of Pennsylvania. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Psychologist, author, and professional speaker who specializes in Anger Management and Communication. Dr. Conte co-founded a center in South Lake Tahoe, California, to work with people who have been convicted of violent crimes, and he is the creator of Yield theory – a powerful approach to combining radical compassion with conscious education.

DOES BAD BLOOD BREED BETTER ART? FIND OUT ON THE NEW SEASON OF “INK MASTER” STARTING TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 AT 10 PM, ET/PT

Season Five Pits Tattoo Rivals Against One Another In Their Quest To Win
$100,000, Editorial Feature In Inked Magazine &
The Bragging Rights Title Of ‘Ink Master’

New York, NY, July 29, 2014 – Spike TV’s hit original and the first tattoo reality-competition series “Ink Master” returns for a fifth season starting Tuesday, September 2 at 10 pm ET/PT, and this time there’s bad blood in the water.  Tattoo artists from around the country will battle it out to defeat their rival and the other 16 artists in permanent ink and sometimes with each other for a $100,000 grand prize, an editorial feature in Inked and, of course, the bragging rights title of ‘Ink Master.’  This season it is not just about the rivalries you create on the show, each contestant is coming into this competition with a personal tattoo rival.  From convention circuit foes, a former boss vs former employee, brothers and even two of the most infamous rivals in “Ink Master” history, this season’s competition is more personal than ever.

Each week “Ink Master” puts artist through a series of tattoo challenges that are not only designed to test the artists’ technical skills, but also their on-the-spot creativity, where they must create and execute an original tattoo by command on a ‘Human Canvas.’  Each episode focuses on a different and distinct style of tattooing including realism, black and gray, geometric, neo-traditional, Asian and cover-up, among others.   The masterpieces these artists create will last a lifetime, but so will their mistakes.

After every challenge, the contestants face a tough panel made up of series host Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) and world renowned tattoo artists Chris Nunez (“Miami Ink”) and Oliver Peck (Elm Street Tattoo) who are joined by a roster of guest judges including Joe Manganiello, Tommy Montoya and DeAngelo Williams.

Once again the Human Canvases, who volunteer their bodies to be tattooed by the “Ink Master” contestants, will have a say in who gets sent home.  The Canvases will form their own jury, deliberate as a group and pick one artist per episode who will be up for elimination.  In the jury room, viewers get an inside look at the heated arguments and wicked emotions as the Canvases defend or abandon their new ink and artist.

In the season opener the artists put ink-to-skin right from the get-go.  There are eighteen artists standing, including season three rivals Joshua Hibbard and Jason Clay Dunn, and each of them are forced to collaborate with their biggest rival in a tag team tattoo challenge (right away as they are challenged to tattoo as a tag team).

The “Ink Master” Season Five tattoo artists are (listed in alphabetical order):

”Ink Master” Season 5 Premieres on Spike TV Starting Tuesday, September 2 at 10 PM, ET/PT

Angel
Brooklyn, NY
Owner/Artist, Puncture Tattoo Studio
Website: (http://instagram.com/angel_ta2)
Twitter: @Angel_Bauta
18 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “The Brooklyn Boys,” versus Cris Element

Angel is an artist and entrepreneur who focuses on many styles of color and grey wash tattoos.  He believes that not specializing in one specific style distinguishes him as a well-rounded tattooist.  This season, Angel finds a rival in Cris Element, the Brooklyn artist who once worked for him before quitting unexpectedly. While Element thinks he has surpassed the skills of his former mentor, Angel is furious at the lack of respect shown by Element and is determined to show him who’s really the boss.

Julia Carlson
Browns Mills, NJ
Artist, Ink Obsession
Website: (http://instagram.com/juliacarlsontattoo)
Twitter: @julzcarlsontat2
5 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “The Rookie versus the Veteran,” versus Caroline Evans

Julia Carlson apprenticed for six months and has been tattooing ever since with a focus in color and grey wash tattoos.  Although she may appear to be small and sweet, Carlson sees herself as a tough and versatile competitor, and is setting out to gain the respect she feels she deserves in the industry.  Carlson is challenged this season by Caroline Evans, veteran tattoo artist and fellow co-worker at Ink Obsession.  While Evans claims that she’s pushing Carlson to become the best artist possible, Carlson feels that Evans’ feigned guidance is really rooted in jealousy and is tired of being targeted and disrespected by her.

LT
Providence, RI
Artist, East Providence Tattoo
Website: (http://instagram.com/lt_doart3)
Twitter: @lt_doart3
3 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “Vying for the Top Dog in Rhode Island,” versus Ty’Esha Reels

LT is a tattoo artist who specializes in realism and black and gray.  LT believes that he is overlooked and underrated, and covets the recognition reaped by his contemporaries.  LT is challenged this season by Ty’Esha Reels, who is furious about having lost to him at a Rhode Island expo despite having twice the experience.  Reels believes that LT has yet to pay his dues in the industry and is determined to redeem herself, but LT believes he has.

Jason Clay Dunn
Montclair, CA
Owner/Artist at Tattoo Alchemy
Website: (www.jasonclaydunn.com; www.jasondunntattoo.com; www.tattooalchemy.com)
Twitter: @JasonClayDunn
20 years’ experience
Rivals Match-Up: “Season Three Returners,” versus Joshua Hibbard

Born with an innate passion for creation, Jason Clay Dunn completed a traditional apprenticeship by nineteen and set out to become a leading artist in the Neo-Asian style.  Dunn competed on season three, tattooing through his personal battles with panic disorder and anxiety, but the shop owner fell short and ended up in sixth place.  Now he’s back to battle Josh Hibbard, season three’s infamous instigator.  Hibbard’s scheming tactics and penchant for drama didn’t sit well with Dunn, and their feud is sure to pick right back up this season as he clashes with Dunn’s no-nonsense personality.

Emily Elegado
Charleston, SC
Artist, Roses & Ruins Tattoo
Website: (www.emilyelegado.com)
Twitter: @EmilyElegado
6 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “He Disrespected Her on Her Home Turf,” versus Aaron Is

Emily Elegado spent three years completing a traditional tattoo apprenticeship before taking on her own clients.  Other than her work in realism, Elegado considers herself infamous for having an in-your-face attitude.  She enters the competition with a distaste for Aaron Is, the Tampa tattooist she first met when he did a guest spot at her shop.  Elegado felt that Is had absolutely no respect for the industry, and matters were only made worse by his dating Elegado’s co-worker.

Cris Element
Brooklyn, NY
Artist, Leathernecks and Bullseye
Website: (www.criselement.com; http://instagram.com/cris_element)
Twitter: @CrisElement
8 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “The Brooklyn Boys,” versus Angel

Cris Element is a self-taught tattoo artist.  Element does not believe in the traditional route; he openly regards old school tattoos as “outdated” and longtime artists as arrogant.  His main competitor this season is Angel, the Brooklyn shop owner who once employed him before Element severed the relationship by quitting without notice.  While Angel thinks that Element’s cockiness has gotten the better of him, his former employee thinks it’s time he demonstrated his artistic superiority.

Ryan Eternal
Orlando, FL
Artist, Hart & Huntington
Website: (http://instagram.com/ryaneternal)
Twitter: @Ryan_Eternal
9 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “He Wants to Be Me,” versus Mark Longenecker

Ryan Eternal is a military veteran who picked up on the tattoo trade while stationed in South Korea.  Originally from Stockton, one of the roughest cities in California, Eternal’s dreams of a career in ink were almost ruined when a car accident left his hand severely damaged, but the new school artist has recovered and feels ready to battle for ink’s ultimate title.  Eternal’s competition is Mark Longenecker, the Cocoa Beach Surfer and artist whom he used to idolize.  Despite looking up to him in the past, Eternal is out for Longenecker’s crown and his clients, establishing himself as a Florida circuit legend.

Caroline Evans
Bradley Beach, NJ
Artist, Ink Obsession
Website: (www.tattoosbycaroline.com)
Twitter: @tatugirl
15 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “The Rookie versus the Veteran,” versus Julia Carlson

Caroline Evans has been a mainstay in a male-dominated industry.  Besides her versatility in color and black and grey styles, Evans enjoys the challenge that a cover-up provides and has won awards for her corrections in ink.  This season, Evans is challenged by newcomer Julia Carlson, a co-worker at Ink Obsession.  Carlson believes that Evans is jealous of her talents and is out to prove that her experience is no match for the new kid on the block, but Evans thinks that Carlson still has a lot to learn and many years to go before she can ever reach her level of expertise.

Joshua Hibbard
Portland, OR
Artist at Inspired Tattoo
Website: (www.joshuahibbard.com)
Twitter: @_JoshuaHibbard
10 years’ experience
Rivals Match-Up: “Season Three Returners,” versus Jason Clay Dunn

Formerly homeless, Joshua Hibbard believes that some tattoo artists are making a mockery of the craft that saved his life and thinks that the industry needs to improve its professional standards.  He frequently criticizes others’ work and in doing so creates controversy, a tactic that cemented him early on as season three’s most notorious competitor.  Back for another chance at the title, Hibbard is challenged by fellow season three competitor Jason Clay Dunn, who sees him as a flip-flopping instigator with a trace-and-tattoo technique that is less than legitimate. Hibbard remained in the competition just one round longer than Dunn, clinching the number five spot, and their feud is sure to pick right back up where it left off on this season.

Tim Lees
San Diego, CA
Owner/Artist at 4everUtattoo
Website: (www.timleestattoo.com; www.4everutat2.com)
Twitter: @timstat2
17 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “The Pride War,” versus Cleen Rock One

Despite having been homeless for two years as a teen, Tim Lees persevered through his hardships and became a self-taught artist.  He specializes in surrealism and portraiture, and has won many awards on the convention circuit over the past two decades.  Lees has a huge score to settle with competitor Cleen Rock One, the artist whose shop he helped to build.  Shortly after the studio’s opening, the two had a falling out that resulted in Lees leaving the shop.  Left feeling backstabbed and bitter, Lees is now out for vengeance.

Mark Longenecker
Cocoa Beach, FL
Owner/Artist, Endless Summer
Website: (www.endlesssummertattoo.com; www.marklongenecker.com)
Twitter: @longnecktattoo
20 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “He Wants to Be Me,” versus Ryan Eternal

Mark Longenecker is a surfer and tattoo artist whose works have been exhibited in conventions on the world stage.  Specializing in vibrant colors, the studio owner’s tattoos range in style from tropical to Japanese, and his artistic accomplishments have earned him what he describes as a “room full of trophies.”  The Florida native is challenged by Dania Beach tattoo artist Ryan Eternal, whom he feels is trying to steal his customers and fame despite having only half his experience. Longenecker is furious that Eternal is encroaching on his territory, and is determined to do whatever it takes to defend it.

Aaron Is
Tampa, FL
Co-Owner/Artist, Bloodline Tattoo
Website: (http://instagram.com/aaronistattoo)
Twitter: @AaronIsTattoo
16 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “He Disrespected Her on Her Home Turf,” versus Emily Elegado

Originally an artist focused on watercolor portraits, Aaron Is spent two years as a tattoo apprentice before transitioning into a full-time career in ink.  Is’ experience in photorealism, dotwork, and sacred geometry has landed him features in several tattoo publications, which has added to the notoriety he craves as an artist.  Is enters with an enemy in Emily Elegado, the South Carolina artist he first met when doing a guest spot at her shop. The two were immediately at odds, and tensions were only made worse by the fact that Is was dating her co-worker.

Cleen Rock One
Las Vegas, NV
Owner/Artist, Chrome Gypsy Tattoo
Website: (www.cleenrockone.com)
Twitter: @Cleen_Rock_One
19 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “The Pride War,” versus Tim Lees

Cleen Rock One was an Illinois shop owner whose neo-traditional and new school approaches to ink landed him guest spots in studios nationwide and features in several tattoo magazines.  Years later, the artist and entrepreneur moved out West, opening a new studio and striving to leave a permanent mark on the Las Vegas circuit.  Cleen finds competition in Tim Lees, the self-taught artist who helped him build and open his Vegas tattoo shop.  The two had a falling out that resulted in Lees leaving Cleen’s shop a month after opening.  Cleen feels that Lees didn’t meet his business’ professional standards, but Lees is outraged and determined to avenge himself against what he sees as a bold injustice.

Don Peddicord
Baltimore, MD
Co-Owner/Artist, Tattoo Dynasty
Website: (http://instagram.com/donpeddicordart)
Twitter: @DonPeddicordArt
8 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “Ink Master Fight Full Circle,” versus Erik Siuda

Don Peddicord is a self-made man who has learned to turn struggle into triumph, going from an unsuccessful apprenticeship to co-owning his own tattoo shop, where he specializes in neo-traditional, portraiture and realism styles.  After a motorcycle accident left Peddicord severely injured, doctors estimated that he would not be able to walk again for over six months, but Peddicord persevered and proved the doctors wrong, doing so in less than three.  Peddicord is challenged by Erik Siuda, the versatile New York shop owner he met during casting for season two.  Neither man was able to stand the other’s arrogance over what each perceives to be subpar work.

Ty’Esha Reels
Providence, RI
Self-employed artist
Website: (http://instagram.com/Ty_Tattoos)
Twitter: Ty_Tattoo
6 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “Vying for the Top Dog in Rhode Island,” versus LT

Ty’Esha Reels is a Native American tattoo artist who specializes in color tattoos. After realizing her love of tattoos at a young age, Reels focused all of her time on becoming a better artist.  She enters this season with competition from LT, the Rhode Island native who beat her for best black and grey tattoo at an expo despite having half the experience.  Reels believes that LT has yet to pay his dues in the industry, and seeks to turn embarrassment into redemption.

Robbie Ripoll
Viera, FL
Owner/Artist, Chapel of Love Tattoo
Website: (www.chapeloflovetattoo.com)
Twitter: @ RobbieRipoll
18 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “Absolutely No Brotherly Love Here,” versus Jayvo Scott

Robbie Ripoll got his start apprenticing at his father’s tattoo shop at the age of twelve, and was tattooing professionally long before graduating high school. After several years of working at the family business, the new school artist opened his own studio.  Ripoll’s competition is his older brother, Jayvo Scott.  Although they were close as kids, the two have grown apart due to jealousy.  Scott’s struggling to catch up to his younger brother’s success and Ripoll is getting territorial about the turf he acquired long ago.  The feud has gotten physical in the past, but both ultimately seek to impress their dad, from whom they both learned the art of tattooing.

Jayvo Scott
Melbourne, FL
Self-employed tattoo artist
Website: (www.jayvoscott.com)
Twitter: @JayvoScott
13 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “Absolutely No Brotherly Love Here,” versus Robbie Ripoll

Although he was always around his father’s tattoo shop as a kid, Jayvo Scott didn’t get to working with ink until he was twenty-three.  Now, after learning the ropes, Scott has become the owner of the family business.  Scott’s main competition is a sibling rivalry with his brother, Robbie Ripoll.  Although they were close as kids, the two have grown apart.  Scott feels he deserves Ripoll’s respect and Ripoll gets territorial about the trade he’s worked since childhood.  The feud has gotten physical in the past, but both ultimately seek to impress their father, from whom they learned the tricks of the trade.

Erik Siuda
Brooklyn, NY
Owner/Artist, Ghost Gallery Tattoo
Website: (http://instagram.com/ErikSiuda; www.facebook/GhostGallery)
Twitter: @ErikSiuda
18 years’ experience
Rivals Match-up: “Ink Master Fight Full Circle,” versus Don Peddicord

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Erik Siuda began his career as a graffiti artist before studying at the School of Visual Arts and apprenticing in New York City.  Siuda prides himself on his versatility as an artist, focusing his work on pseudo traditional, new school, realism and Japanese styles.  In addition to owning his own studio, Siuda also sells custom tattoo machines that he builds himself.  Siuda’s rival is Don Peddicord, a Maryland shop owner that he met during casting for season two.  The two didn’t get along from the start, unable to stand the other’s arrogance over what each perceives to be subpar work.
