New York, NY, January 19, 2016 – Spike’s multiplatform megastar, “Lip Sync Battle,” has been renewed for a third season consisting of 20 half-hour episodes, it was announced today by Kevin Kay, Spike President.

“Lip Sync Battle is a multiplatform pop-culture phenomenon that has played an integral role in delivering a new and broader audience to Spike,” said Kevin Kay, Spike President.

The new season will tape later this year. A premiere date for season three will be announced in the near future.

“Lip Sync Battle” is the most-watched original series in Spike’s history and continually delivers a big and broad audience to the channel. Season two launched on January 7 and through the first two episodes, “Lip Sync Battle” is averaging 4.4 million viewers and is the top-ranked series in its timeslot with a 3.1 rating in the coveted demographic of Adults 18-49 in all of television.

The series is a digital hit as well, amassing over half a billion video streams since launch last April, with over 50 million alone for the season 2 premiere featuring Channing Tatum vs. Jenna Dewan-Tatum with special appearances by Beyoncé and Paula Abdul.

“Lip Sync Battle” is hosted by music legend LL Cool J with Chrissy Teigen serving as the colorful commentator. LL COOL J will be honored this week with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“Lip Sync Battle” can be seen in over 130 countries and territories worldwide. The UK version launched January 9 on Viacom’s Channel 5 and was the top-rated show in the 16-34 demographic in the time period.

New York, NY, January 19, 2016 – Spike TV’s hit original reality-competition series “Ink Master,” produced by Original Media, returns for a “lucky” seventh season, premiering Tuesday, March 1 at 10 pm ET/PT. In addition to new contestants, this season brings back eight of the series’ favorite artists from previous seasons to battle it out in permanent ink for a $100,000 grand prize, an editorial feature in Inked and, of course, the bragging rights title of ‘Ink Master.’

This season comes with a new twist, as each week, a veteran artist – and former ‘Ink Master’ contestant – will be introduced to the group prior to the elimination challenge. The artists will be put through a series of tattoo challenges that are not only designed to test the their technical skills, but also their on-the-spot creativity, as they must create and execute an original tattoo on a ‘Human Canvas.’ Each episode will focus on a different and distinct style of tattooing, and while the masterpieces these artists create will last a lifetime… so will their mistakes.

After every challenge, the contestants face a tough panel made up of musician, filmmaker and artist Dave Navarro, as well as world renowned tattoo artists Chris Nunez (“Miami Ink”) and Oliver Peck (Elm Street Tattoo).

Once again, the Human Canvases, who volunteer their bodies to be tattooed by the “Ink Master” contestants, will have a say in who gets sent home. The Canvases will form their own jury, deliberate as a group and pick one artist per episode who will be up for elimination. In the jury room, viewers get an inside look at the heated arguments and wicked emotions as the Canvases defend or abandon their new ink and artist.

The star-studded and highly-anticipated season two premiere of Spike’s multiplatform hit “Lip Sync Battle” on Thursday, January 7 at 10:00pm ET/PT shattered ratings and digital records for the network.

The one-hour special episode featuring an epic showdown between Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum with special appearances by Beyonce and Paula Abdul drew 4.7 million viewers (with +3 day DVR playback), making it the most watched original series episode in Spike history. The telecast peaked with 6.4 million viewers for Channing’s performance of Beyoncé’s “Run The World (Girls).”  Content for the Season 2 premiere has been viewed over 55 million times on various digital platforms.

The “Lip Sync Battle” season two debut was the #1 ranked show with Adults 18-49 (3.45), Adults 18-34 (3.43), Women 18-34 (4.6), Women 18-49 (4.34) in all of television in the timeslot.

Skydance Television Serves As Studio On New Original Scripted Series Written And Executive Produced By J. Michael Straczynski With Vince Gerardis and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross

New York, NY, December 8, 2015Spike is bringing Kim Stanley Robinson’s award-winning “Mars Trilogy” to television with Skydance Television serving as the studio on the original one-hour scripted series, titled “Red Mars.”

The books, “Red Mars,” “Green Mars,” and “Blue Mars,” chronicles mankind’s colonization and transformation of the red planet, have been adapted in 21 languages and are regarded as the best novels ever written on the subject.

“Red Mars” will be Executive Produced and written by J. Michael Straczynski whose works include “Sense8,” “Babylon Five” and “Changeling.” The straight-to-series project will be Executive Produced by Emmy®-Award winner Vince Gerardis (“Game of Thrones, “Flash Forward”) who brought the project to Spike and has shepherded development, along with Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross (Skydance’s 2015 feature films are “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” and “Terminator Genisys” and current television series include “Grace and Frankie” and “Manhattan”).

Spike has ordered 10 one-hour episodes of “Red Mars,” the most ambitious project in network history. Spike’s first scripted original dramatic series in nine years will go into production next summer and will debut on Spike in January 2017. This past July, Spike premiered “Tut,” its first original scripted miniseries in almost a decade to strong ratings, averaging 2.2 million viewers over three nights.

“Red Mars” follows the first settlers charged with terraforming a mysterious planet, all of whom have competed to be a part of the mission. The series delves into the lives of these relative strangers, cut off from everything they’ve ever known and living in the harshest environment imaginable. Over time, viewers will witness the mind-blowing evolution of humans and technology as they learn to adapt in their inhospitable new home.

Highly-Rated Series To Return Next Spring With 13 New Episodes

Currently Ranks #1 In Its Timeslot With Adults 18-49

New York, NY, October 14, 2015 – Spike’s sleeper-hit series, “Ink Master: Redemption,” which is averaging 1.8 million viewers and ranks #1 in its timeslot with Adults 18-49 in its debut season, has been picked up for a second season of 13 episodes. The announcement was made today by Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike.

The new season launches next spring coinciding with Season 7 of “Ink Master.”

Since premiering on Spike on Tuesday, September 8 at 11:00pm ET/PT, “Ink Master: Redemption” is averaging a 1.3 rating with the key demographic of Adults 18-49, ranking it #1 in all of television in its Tuesday timeslot.  The half-hour Spike original, which has expanded the “Ink Master” franchise, has also improved the timeslot (versus last year) by a staggering +162% with Adults 18-49, +150% with Men 18-49, +174% with Women 18-49, and +156% in total viewership.

The series is among the crop of original series such as “Bar Rescue,” “Lip Sync Battle,” and “Ink Master” that deliver on the network’s mission to attract a gender-balanced audience to the channel.

“Ink Master: Redemption” offers disgruntled former human canvases of “Ink Master” a chance to receive a new tattoo that leaves them happier than their last. The spinoff series is hosted by Dave Navarro.

“Ink Master: Redemption” is produced for Spike by Original Media (“Swamp People,” “Comic Book Men,” “Dual Survival”) with Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Andrea Richter, and Dave Navarro serving as Executive Producers. Original Media is a subsidiary of Endemol Shine North America.

Kruseman Named Season 6 Winner Of “Ink Master” In Live Season Finale

KRUSEMAN NAMED SEASON 6 WINNER OF

“INK MASTER” IN LIVE SEASON FINALE

New York, NY, October 13, 2015 – In a live finale that was both cutthroat and exciting, Kruseman was named winner of Season 6 of “Ink Master.”  Kruseman wins a cash prize of $100,000, a feature article in the premiere tattoo publication Inked and the ultimate bragging rights title of ‘Ink Master.’  In addition to these winnings, Kruseman won a brand new Dodge Challenger.

Eighteen of the top tattoo artists from around the country battled it out all season in permanent ink, in various tattoo challenges that not only tested the artists’ technical skills, but also their on-the-spot creativity, with competitors creating and executing original tattoos on “human canvases.” This season of “Ink Master” was not just about the rivalries the artists created during the competition; contestants also came with their own personal tattoo rival – their master or apprentice.

Each week’s challenges focused on a different tattoo technique and style. After every challenge, the contestants faced a tough panel made up of series host Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) and judges, renowned tattoo artists Chris Nunez (“Miami Ink”) and Oliver Peck (Elm Street Tattoo).

The final three contestants – Chris Blinston, owner and artist at No Hard Feelings in Coral Springs, FL; Kruseman, owner and artist at Oldeline Tattoo in Hagerstown, MD; and Matt O’Baugh, owner and artist at Black Cobra Tattoos in Sherwood, AR – were each assigned their own master canvas. They were sent back to their home bases to complete a 35-hour back-piece tattoo, where they each had five, seven-hour sessions to create the best tattoo design of their careers.

For the first time in “Ink Master” history, the three finalists also tattooed leading into the live finale in styles that were voted on by the fans via social media.  Blinston was assigned color realism, Kruseman was assigned American traditional and O’Baugh was assigned color realism.   During the finale, fans were able to vote to determine who completed this challenge the best, with the most votes earning a spot in the top two artists.  After thousands of tweets, it was determined that Chris Blinston had the best tattoo of the evening, which secured his spot in the final two and was also awarded $10,000 courtesy of Gildan USA.  After the judges reviewed the artwork, Kruseman earned the second spot in the final two.

As Blinston and Kruseman revealed their master canvases to the judges – and America – in the end, Kruseman was named the season 6 winner of “Ink Master.”

In addition to Kruseman winning a brand new Dodge Challenger, one lucky fan won the custom-painted Challenger that was designed during the season by contestants Craig Foster, Chris Blinston and Erik Campbell through a fan focused sweepstakes.

In an another exciting twist during the live finale, three lucky fans were given the opportunity to get inked by “Ink Master” alumni Cleen Rock One, Jimi Litwalk and Sarah Miller who were all revealed during the finale as returning veterans for “Ink Master” Season 7.  One, Litwalk and Miller will be joined by five other “Ink Master” veterans, as well as eight new contestants who will all go head-to-head in Season 7, premiering in March 2016.

“Ink Master” is once again proving to be a ratings driver for the network; Season 6 is averaging 2.4 million viewers and is on pace to become the series’ highest-rated and most-watched season ever.  The series is #1 in P18-34 and W18-34 in all of TV, and #1 in P18-49 and #1 in W18-49 in cable in its timeslot (Tuesday’s, 10-11pm).

“The John McAfee Project” To Debut On Spike In April 2016

Six Part Series To Be The Definitive Inside Look At The Tech Pioneer and Recently Announced Presidential Candidate 

New York, NY, September 9, 2015 – Spike’s six-part television event, “The McAfee Project,” that will shed light on the brilliant yet complicated tech pioneer John McAfee will debut in April, 2016.

Viewed by some as the godfather of online security and by others as the master manipulator of fear, McAfee announced earlier today he is running for President of the United States.

Directed and Executive Produced by Billy Corben (“Cocaine Cowboys”), the docuseries will be centered around McAfee’s first-person interviews and will reveal unanswered questions about his life ranging from drug-fueled college days in Virginia, to learning to battle computer viruses early in his career at Lockheed in the 1980’s, to starting McAfee and Associates in 1987, to the 2012 murder investigation in Belize.

“The McAfee Project” is produced by the critically-acclaimed and Emmy-winning rakontur (“Cocaine Cowboys,” “VH1’s The Tanning of America,” “Dawg Fight”) with Alfred Spellman and Corben as Executive Producers and Impact Future Media with Francois Garcia and Kimberley Berlin as Executive Producers.

The series will also feature first-person interviews with those close to McAfee along with reenactments featuring pivotal seasons in his life.

In April, 2012, John McAfee, a world-renowned billionaire computer anti-virus pioneer, found himself at the center of Central America’s hottest manhunt in recent history. McAfee was named a “person of interest,” but not a suspect, by police officials in Belize following the murder of his neighbor. McAfee went on the run for three weeks before crossing the border into Guatemala. He was detained by Guatemalan authorities soon after entry, and was soon fighting against deportation to Belize.

McAfee claims the police and drug cartels in Belize were out to kill him thus the escape to Guatemala. He also reportedly faked a series of heart attacks to prevent deportation to Belize and aid safe passage back to the United States. Following a lengthy legal battle, he was deported to the United States while his home in Belize mysteriously burned to the ground.

Was this celebrated tech genius really involved in the murder of a neighbor?  Or does he have nefarious enemies out to destroy him and crumble his empire?  Or is the man who earned enormous success and wealth based on the public’s online security fears and paranoia playing another mind-game?

McAfee continues to be a prophet of internet protection.  In 2010, the company he founded (McAfee Associates) was sold to Intel for an incredible $7.8 billion and four years later they announced they would be changing their name from McAfee to Intel Security.  Recently, McAfee launched Future Tense Central, a security and privacy company offering innovative mobile and web applications with the highest degree of security, empowering the user with the knowledge and awareness to make informed decisions about their personal information.  New York, NY, August 17, 2015 –Spike’s original documentary, “I Am Chris Farley” delivered record ratings for the network on Monday, August 10 9:00-11:00pm ET/PT).  With 3-day playback, the 2-hour tribute to the beloved comedic actor drew 1.5 million viewers, establishing it as the most watched documentary in Spike’s history.

“I Am Chris Farley” is Directed and Produced by Derik Murray (“I Am Evel Knievel,” “I Am Steve McQueen,” “I Am Bruce Lee”) and Co-Directed by Brent Hodge (“A Brony Tale”).
