“ROCK THE TROOPS” GLOBAL EVENT
New York, NY, June 6, 2015 – Seven Bucks Productions, co-founded by Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia, has joined forces with Spike TV and Casey Patterson Entertainment to create “ROCK THE TROOPS,” a grand scale music and entertainment event to celebrate and entertain deployed US Troops serving overseas. The Spike Original Special will be filmed at a Military Base overseas, location to be announced in the coming months. “ROCK THE TROOPS” will bow on Veterans Day 2016. 
 
The star-studded event will feature live performances from headliners from the worlds of music, movies, comedy, sports and more. 
 
“Dwayne Johnson has always made supporting the brave men and women serving overseas a priority throughout his career. Our Mission is to honor, inspire and entertain in an epic way, as only The Rock can. He’ll bring all the heart, humor and big-bad energy that the world loves him for, to this show. I couldn’t have more dedicated partners than Dwayne, Dany and the Seven Bucks team for this very worthy event,” said Casey Patterson, Executive Producer. 
 
“Supporting troops and veterans is part of Spike’s DNA,” said Spike TV’s President Kevin Kay. Spike has actively supported America’s heroes throughout the last decade from helping to build a hospital for troops with brain injuries, to the “Hire A Vet” campaign, to the VOW initiative focusing on veterans’ health and wellness.
 
“The Seven Bucks team and I are honored to help create this special project that is going to give back to our troops and thank them for all their dedication, bravery and sacrifice,” said Johnson. “We are going to make something truly monumental,” added Garcia.
 
Spike and Seven Bucks Productions announced a development deal at the Spike Upfront presentation to advertisers and press in March. This is the first special event announced as part of the deal.

New York, NY, June 4, 2015Lip Sync Battle” has been a ratings champion for Spike since launch on April 2, delivering record viewership for the network. Over the past 9 weeks, “Lip Sync Battle” is ranked #1 in its timeslot in all of cable TV with Adults 18-49 and Women 18-49 and among all cable entertainment series with Men 18-49. The original series averaged 2.9 million viewers and has improved the network’s timeslot with the key demographic of Adults 18-49 by 161%.

“Lip Sync Battle” also delivered a staggering 177 million cross-platform streams across Spike’s owned and operated properties as well as Facebook and YouTube, with Anne Hathaway’s “wrecking ball” clip alone garnering 15 million.

The scripted series, “When The Levee Breaks,” reflects a number of hot-button issues that are culturally relevant today including race and law enforcement. Wimmer’s impressive resume includes “Law Abiding Citizen,” “Salt,” and the upcoming “Point Break.”

“When The Levee Breaks” concerns events that take place when an illegal strike by the LAPD threatens chaos in America’s second largest city.  An African-American cop, the series’ central character, is the only officer with the courage to cross the strike-line to investigate the true motivations behind the murders of the two racist cops whose deaths provoked the strike – and whose murders he himself may be linked to.

Wimmer is represented by CAA.

NEW YORK – May 28, 2015 – Spike TV’s popular original series, “Catch A Contractor,” which follows host and master carpenter Adam Carolla along with expert contractor Skip Bedell and investigator Alison Bedell as they seek justice for wronged homeowners, is back for an explosive new season.  This season not only sets out to aid 10 new families in grim living circumstances, but also gives viewers a never-before-seen glimpse behind the scenes of the tense sting operations and the meticulous coordination needed to nab these deceitful conmen. “Catch A Contractor” premieres its third season on Sunday, June 21 at 10PM ET/PT on Spike TV.    

“Catch A Contractor” aims to finally turn the tables on shady contractors and educate homeowners on the warning signs before it’s too late.  Adam, Skip and Alison seek retribution for duped homeowners, whose construction nightmares range from the absurdly inept, to alarmingly hazardous homes that are accidents waiting to happen.  They hunt down and confront unscrupulous builders, drag them back to their construction disasters, and make them finish the job right.  Carolla and his expert team share their knowledge and ingenuity with the builders – not only in an effort to deliver homeowners the job they paid for, but also to give these suspect contractors the opportunity to redeem themselves.

The premiere episode features a grandmother who is left without a single working toilet and in danger of an electrical fire when she entrusts her savings to her daughter’s friend, who agrees to redo her bathrooms in order to accommodate her 14 grandchildren.  Months later, not only does this grandmother have to drive miles away to use the restroom in a local church, but there is a deep rift in the family due to this shady contractor.

New York, NY, May 27, 2015 – Coming off its most-watched season to date, Spike TV has picked up a seventh season of “Ink Master,” the network’s hit, original tattoo-competition series. Season seven will feature 16 one-hour episodes, slated to debut in spring 2016. In addition, the network has announced a spin-off series, “Ink Master: Redemption,” which offers disgruntled former human canvases of “Ink Master” a chance to receive a new tattoo that leaves them happier than their last. The announcement was made by Chachi Senior, Senior Vice President, Original Programming, Spike TV.

The network will launch the newest installment of “Ink Master” – season six – on Tuesday, June 23 at 10pm ET/PT.

In “Ink Master: Redemption,” human canvases from previous “Ink Master” seasons, who left unhappy with their tattoos, return to the shop for a chance at new ink. The spinoff series, featuring six half-hour episodes, will debut in September.

Season 5 of “Ink Master,” which delivered an average 2.2 million viewers, was the show’s highest-rated season among Adults and Women 18-49. In its Tuesday 10-11 PM ET/PT slot, the series ranked in the top five among Persons 18-49, Men 18-49 and Men 18-34, and is currently one of Spike’s most gender-balanced programs. “Ink Master” generated 11.8 million total cross platform video views during the season, and the LIVE finale was ranked #1 on cable based on twitter activity.

“With Americans spending more than $1Billion annually on tattoos, ‘Ink Master’ has definitely hit a chord with viewers and has continued to grow as one of our most gender-balanced original series,” said Senior. “The show’s viewers are not only fans of the amazing artwork displayed, they are also invested in the human canvases and what happens when a client leaves unhappy with their tattoo. We have created ‘Ink Master: Redemption’ to help answer those questions.”

Each week, “Ink Master” puts artists through a series of tattoo challenges that are not only designed to test the artists’ technical skills, but also their on-the-spot creativity, as they must create and execute an original tattoo by command on a ‘human canvas.’ Each episode focuses on a different and distinct style of tattooing. The masterpieces these artists create will last a lifetime – but so will their mistakes. The series is hosted by Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction), and the series judges are world-renowned tattoo artists Chris Nunez (“Miami Ink”) and Oliver Peck (Elm Street Tattoo).

New York, NY, April 29, 2015 –Spike released key art today for the Spike original limited series event Tut, with the tagline – “Boy.Rebel.King.” Spike’s Tut recounts the astounding saga of one of history’s most extraordinary rulers, Tutankhamun aka King Tut, his rise to power and his struggle to lead Egypt to glory, while his closest advisors, friends and lovers scheme for their own nefarious interests. This six hour, three night ambitious original scripted limited series event premieres on Spike Sunday – Tuesday, July 19-21 (9:00 – 11:00 PM, ET/PT).

One of the story’s central plot points is the complex relationship of King Tut, played by Avan Jogia, and his closest advisor, Vizer Ay, played by Academy Award®-winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley. Using a cross process technique, the key art captures their dynamic, as both characters are merged together, depicting their struggle for power. The effect of the key art create layers of intrigue, that mirror the layers of complexity in the characters. The art features the iconic Egyptian colors of blue and gold that evoke a sense of warmth and coldness, of life and death.

The bold and dramatic composition captures the tone of Tut’s epic story, and is a reflection of Spike’s new look and brand promise, delivering faces with tremendous star power who truly are “the ones to watch.” Created in collaboration with 30Sixty Advertising, the key art was shot on location in Morocco by photographer Mattias Clamer.

Thrust into power after the murder of his father, Tut (Jogia) is forced to marry his strong willed, ambitious half-sister (Sibylla Deen) in order to maintain the dynasty. In love with a commoner (Kylie Bunbury), he struggles to protect her from the jealous queen. And although Tut rules as Pharaoh, he is exploited by a shrewd Prime Minister (Kingsley), a ruthless military General (Nonso Anozie) and a scheming High Priest (Alexander Siddig) who look down on him as someone they can control. But through unexpected twists and turns, Tut strives to overcome the odds, rising from a manipulated prince into an unlikely hero who triumphs over his enemies both from within and without leading his kingdom to glory.

It’s Best To ‘Know Your Enemy’ On The New Season Of “Ink Master”

New York, NY, April 28, 2015 – Spike TV’s hit original reality-competition series “Ink Master” returns for a sixth season starting Tuesday, June 23 at 10 pm ET/PT, and this time it’s best to  ‘know your enemy.’  Eighteen tattoo artists from around the country will battle it out in permanent ink and sometimes with each other for a $100,000 grand prize, an editorial feature in Inked and, of course, the bragging rights title of ‘Ink Master.’  This season it’s not just about the rivalries the artists create during the competition, each contestant comes with their own personal tattoo rival – their master or apprentice.

Each week “Ink Master” puts artists through a series of tattoo challenges that are not only designed to test the artists’ technical skills, but also their on-the-spot creativity, where they must create and execute an original tattoo by command on a ‘Human Canvas.’  Each episode focuses on a different and distinct style of tattooing including American traditional, Japanese, trash polka, anatomical and Victorian, among others.   The masterpieces these artists create will last a lifetime, but so will their mistakes.

After every challenge, the contestants face a tough panel made up of series host Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) and world renowned tattoo artists Chris Nunez (“Miami Ink”) and Oliver Peck (Elm Street Tattoo) who are joined by a roster of guest stars including Avan Jogia (“Tut”), Khaseem Greene (Chicago Bears), Tony Jefferson (Arizona Cardinals), Keith Pough (Cleveland Browns), Allen Robinson (Jacksonville Jaguars), Darius Slay (Detroit Lions) and Kamerion Wimbley (Tennessee Titans).

Once again the Human Canvases, who volunteer their bodies to be tattooed by the “Ink Master” contestants, will have a say in who gets sent home.  The Canvases will form their own jury, deliberate as a group and pick one artist per episode who will be up for elimination.  In the jury room, viewers get an inside look at the heated arguments and wicked emotions as the Canvases defend or abandon their new ink and artist.

New York, NY, April 22, 2015 – “Lip Sync Battle” is a ratings and multiplatform superstar for Spike TV. As a result, the network has announced it will pick up another 20 episodes of the highly-rated critically-acclaimed series, debuting in 2016.

Through four episodes, “Lip Sync Battle” is the most-watched original series in network history, averaging 3 million viewers, and is the top-rated series in its timeslot in the coveted demographic of Adults 18-49 in all of cable. The series is a digital hit as well, amassing over 107 million video streams in three weeks, with the Anne Hathaway “Wrecking Ball” clip securing 14 million views alone.

Other ratings highlights include:

  • Across 50 airings (Spike, MTV & BET) between 4/2 and 4/19, “Lip Sync Battle” reached 33.1 million viewers (including 16.5 million women)
