New York, NY, July 27, 2015 – Spike unearthed ratings royalty for “Tut,” the network’s most ambitious project in channel history. The 3-night event series delivered an average of 2.2 million viewers, the largest average viewership in the timeslot (Sun-Tues 9pm-11pm) in 8 years. Over 3 nights (including encore presentations), “Tut” delivered 11.4 million total viewers and 27.2 million consumed “Tut” content across all digital platforms.

“Tut,” Spike’s first scripted event series in 8 years, also delivered on the network’s goal of attracting a more gender balanced-audience, delivering a 0.9 with Women 18-49 and an aggregate of 6 million female viewers (including all telecasts).

“Our investment in premium scripted programming is paying off in a big way as we delivered a broad and diverse audience with a remarkable 81% new viewers to the network,” said Kevin Kay, President, Spike.  “We will look to build off of Tut’s momentum and will have an announcement of a scripted series pick-up shortly.”

NEW YORK, N.Y., July 22, 2015 – 345 Games and Spike’s  hit gaming franchise “Deadliest Warrior” returns to console today with ““Deadliest Warrior: Battlegrounds””. The newest title in the series brings the action-packed multiplayer madness of the hit first-person slasher, “Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior,” to Xbox 360. The game launches today on Xbox LIVE and retails for $14.99.

“Deadliest Warrior: Battlegrounds” features six of the notorious warriors from the Deadliest Warrior series and pits them against one another in all-out war. It is the first title in the series on console to feature multiplayer gameplay, allowing up to 12 warriors per battle, six game modes and the ability to customize every element of battle to determine which warrior is deadliest.

The game features six warriors, each with a unique combat style and weapons set.

Players go to war in six authentic environments with interactive elements.

With extensive statistics, players can finally determine which warrior is deadliest. Battles can take place across six new game modes, which feature one-on-one combat, free for all, and capture the flag matches. Teams and warriors can be customized based on appearance, match types, customizable servers, taunts, and emblems – with some weapons and accessories only accessible after mastering a particular warrior’s technique.

New York, NY, July 14, 2015 – Spike has partnered with some of the most creative minds in Hollywood to bolster its ever growing slate of scripted projects that aim to further the network’s mission to broaden its audience with big and bold original series.

The scripted drama projects span a wide range of genres and periods, all of it character driven material set in unique, compelling worlds.   These include series about an Occupied American heartland during World War III, a family living in a world without privacy, the Gilded Age pioneers of criminal defense law, and medical researchers pushing the boundaries of ethics and legality.

Spike’s aggressive approach has yielded projects from major studio players, as well as independents.  It is also developing several projects in-house.

BAD MEDICINE: This psychological horror series centers on a man in pain who is miraculously cured by a brilliant but unconventional doctor who specializes in clinical trials. The man goes all out to help this doctor find more breakthrough cures, only to realize that there are deadly consequences to the work the doctor does.  Aaron Mendelsohn serves as writer, Nick Hamm as Executive Producer and Momentum TV as producers.

HUMMEL & HOWE: Set in the late 19th century Gilded Age in New York City, this series showcases the wild cases and lives of William Howe and Abraham Hummel — two criminals desperate to escape their past who become the greatest criminal defense attorneys in American history.  “Hummel & Howe” is written by Andy Bellin, and produced by Scott Aversano and Tom Gormican of Additional Dialogue and Endemol Shine Studios.

MR. IN BETWEEN: Based on a short story by acclaimed novelist Walter Mosley, this series focuses on a high-stakes courier who traffics sensitive information between people for whom privacy is a matter of life and death. Diane Houslin and Walter Mosley serve as producers.

SECRET AMERICA: Set in the near future, this series explores a society where the threat of terrorism has turned the US government into an autocratic state.  The show will chronicle the lives of one family as they fight for survival in a world where everyone is watched and no one can be fully trusted, and where patriotism is demanded, not earned.  Alcon Television group President, Sharon Hall serves as Executive Producer, Josh Goldin and Rachel Abramowitz as writers and Jaume Collet-Serra as director.  Alcon Entertainment co-founders and co-CEO’s Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson also serve as Executive Producers on this series.

Spike Presents a Landmark Television Event That Will Shed Light on the Truth Behind the Complex Story of John McAfee and an International Murder Mystery

New York, NY, July 8, 2015 – Spike presents a six-part television event, “The McAfee Project,*” that will shed light on the brilliant yet complicated tech pioneer John McAfee, viewed by some as the godfather of online security and by others as the master manipulator of fear whose the key figure in a  shocking international murder mystery.

Directed and Executive Produced by Billy Corben (“Cocaine Cowboys”), the docuseries will be centered around McAfee’s first-person interviews and will reveal unanswered questions about his life ranging from drug-fueled college days in Virginia, to learning to battle computer viruses early in his career at Lockheed in the 1980’s, to starting McAfee and Associates in 1987, to the 2012 murder investigation in Belize.

The series will also feature first-person interviews with those close to McAfee along with reenactments featuring pivotal seasons in his life. “The McAfee Project” will be shot this summer and air on Spike in 2016.

In April, 2012, John McAfee, a world-renowned billionaire computer anti-virus pioneer, found himself at the center of Central America’s hottest manhunt in recent history. McAfee was named a “person of interest,” but not a suspect, by police officials in Belize following the murder of his neighbor. McAfee went on the run for three weeks before crossing the border into Guatemala. He was detained by Guatemalan authorities soon after entry, and was soon fighting against deportation to Belize.

McAfee claims the police and drug cartels in Belize were out to kill him thus the escape to Guatemala. He also reportedly faked a series of heart attacks to prevent deportation to Belize and aid safe passage back to the United States. Following a lengthy legal battle, he was deported to the United States while his home in Belize mysteriously burned to the ground.

Was this celebrated tech genius really involved in the murder of a neighbor?  Or does he have nefarious enemies out to destroy him and crumble his empire?  Or is the man who earned enormous success and wealth based on the public’s online security fears and paranoia playing another mind-game?

McAfee continues to be a prophet of internet protection.  In 2010, the company he founded (McAfee Associates) was sold to Intel for an incredible $7.8 billion and four years later they announced they would be changing their name from McAfee to Intel Security.  Recently, McAfee launched Future Tense Central, a security and privacy company offering innovative mobile and web applications with the highest degree of security, empowering the user with the knowledge and awareness to make informed decisions about their personal information. New York, NY, June 10, 2015 – Spike’s wildly popular breakout hit series, “Lip Sync Battle” is going LIVE in New York City on Monday, July 13, as part of the City Parks Foundation’s SummerStage festival.

LL COOL J, a proud native New Yorker will host the LIVE event and New York City resident Chrissy Teigen will provide the color commentary.

“Lip Sync Battle was born and raised in New York City,” said Casey Patterson, Executive Producer.  “We’re honored to be doing our first-ever LIVE show from New York in Central Park. The event will be free for our amazing fans. Central Park is a magical setting with an incredible music legacy, and we can’t wait to rock it!”

Based on the pop culture phenomenon of lip sync battling, the Spike original series features celebrities going head to head – lip-syncing the song of their choice – battling for the coolest bragging rights on the planet.  The series is a ratings and multiplatform superstar for Spike and is the most-watched original series in network history, averaging 3 million viewers.

The competitors for Spike’s first-ever outdoor “Lip Sync Battle” will be announced shortly. The event will be produced by Casey Patterson Entertainment and held rain or shine (gates open at 7:00 p.m.) at the SummerStage venue in mid-Central Park (Fifth Avenue at 69th Street). The event will not be televised and is free to fans.

“Lip Sync Battle” airs on Spike on Thursdays at 10pm ET/PT.

“Lip Sync Battle” is directed by Beth McCarthy-Miller (“Saturday Night Live,” “30 Rock”) and   executive produced by Casey Patterson, Jay Peterson of Matador Content, John KrasinskiStephen Merchant, Rick Schwartz, and Eight Million Plus Productions.

Seven Bucks Productions And Spike TV Announce “Rock The Troops” Global Event

“ROCK THE TROOPS” GLOBAL EVENT
New York, NY, June 6, 2015 – Seven Bucks Productions, co-founded by Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia, has joined forces with Spike TV and Casey Patterson Entertainment to create “ROCK THE TROOPS,” a grand scale music and entertainment event to celebrate and entertain deployed US Troops serving overseas. The Spike Original Special will be filmed at a Military Base overseas, location to be announced in the coming months. “ROCK THE TROOPS” will bow on Veterans Day 2016. 
 
The star-studded event will feature live performances from headliners from the worlds of music, movies, comedy, sports and more. 
 
“Dwayne Johnson has always made supporting the brave men and women serving overseas a priority throughout his career. Our Mission is to honor, inspire and entertain in an epic way, as only The Rock can. He’ll bring all the heart, humor and big-bad energy that the world loves him for, to this show. I couldn’t have more dedicated partners than Dwayne, Dany and the Seven Bucks team for this very worthy event,” said Casey Patterson, Executive Producer. 
 
“Supporting troops and veterans is part of Spike’s DNA,” said Spike TV’s President Kevin Kay. Spike has actively supported America’s heroes throughout the last decade from helping to build a hospital for troops with brain injuries, to the “Hire A Vet” campaign, to the VOW initiative focusing on veterans’ health and wellness.

Spike and Seven Bucks Productions announced a development deal at the Spike Upfront presentation to advertisers and press in March. This is the first special event announced as part of the deal.

The show has also added comedian, actress and activist Chelsea Handler and Academy Award®-nominated actress and cultural icon Salma Hayek to its star-studded lineup for “Guys Choice 2015.” Handler will be the first female ever to be awarded the coveted mantlers for the “Funniest M.F.” award.  Every guy’s mantasy Salma Hayek will receive the “Decade of Hotness” honor.

 “LIP SYNC BATTLE” RATINGS ARE MUSIC TO SPIKE’S EARS 

Ranks #1 With Adults 18-49 In Timeslot On Cable

New York, NY, June 4, 2015Lip Sync Battle” has been a ratings champion for Spike since launch on April 2, delivering record viewership for the network. Over the past 9 weeks, “Lip Sync Battle” is ranked #1 in its timeslot in all of cable TV with Adults 18-49 and Women 18-49 and among all cable entertainment series with Men 18-49. The original series averaged 2.9 million viewers and has improved the network’s timeslot with the key demographic of Adults 18-49 by 161%.

“Lip Sync Battle” also delivered a staggering 177 million cross-platform streams across Spike’s owned and operated properties as well as Facebook and YouTube, with Anne Hathaway’s “wrecking ball” clip alone garnering 15 million.

The most recent episode, airing on Thursday, May 28 featuring Queen Latifah vs. Marlon Wayans, ranked #1 in all of television with Adults 18-49, Men 18-49, Women 18-49, and Adults 18-34.

Season 1 will take a brief hiatus in June and will continue with new episodes on Thursday, July 9 at 10:00pm ET/PT.
