Momita SenGupta is Executive Vice President, Production, Viacom Music & Entertainment Group, which comprises a multiplatform portfolio of brands led by Comedy Central, MTV, Spike, VH1, MTV2 and Logo. Based in Los Angeles, SenGupta reports to John Cucci, Chief Operating Officer for the Entertainment Group.
In this role, SenGupta oversees all physical production for long form scripted, reality and animated series, specials and tent-poles, as well as on-air promotions for Comedy Central, Spike TV and TV Land. In addition, she supervises all daily production operations, technical personnel, production budgets and production planning for the Viacom Group.
SenGupta brings an incredible wealth of experience and relationships to the Group as well as a strategic approach to production, ever more important as the volume of original content production ramps up across all of the Group’s businesses.
Prior to joining Viacom’s Entertainment Group in 2009, SenGupta served as Senior Vice President, Series Production, MTV for all the network’s West Coast-based series and pilots. Before being promoted to Senior Vice President, SenGupta held the position of Vice President of production at MTV Films, overseeing all aspects of production and post production on motion pictures since 1995. Her credits include “Election,” “The Original Kings of Comedy,” “Jackass: The Movie,” “Jackass Number Two,” and the classic “Pootie Tang.” SenGupta held a variety of production positions prior to joining MTV.
She holds a MFA from University of Southern California and earned a BS from University of California, Los Angeles. She lives in Venice, CA with her husband and daughter.
