Eddie Dalva is Executive Vice President of Content and Programming Enterprises, Viacom Music & Entertainment Group.
In his role, Dalva has a wide array of programming responsibilities, including the pursuit of international content opportunities and programming enterprises, as well as strategic co-ventures and digital content partnerships. He also seeks creative financing of reality, scripted and sports programming, building upon his wide-ranging experience and global relationships. Dalva’s primary focus is Spike TV, although he does also represent sister Entertainment Group networks TV Land and Comedy Central in certain instances.
In his previous role as Senior Vice President, Content, Viacom Entertainment and Music Groups, Dalva helped co-finance a vast array of reality and scripting programming across Viacom Media Networks. His domestic broadcast syndication deal with CBS for TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland” resulted in a 96% clearance rate, one of the highest in television history for a comedy emanating from cable.
Prior, Dalva served as a consultant to Spike TV and TV Land, helping to successfully launch original programs such as “DEA,” “Murder,” and “Bullrun” internationally. He was also responsible for putting Spike TV’s “Scream Awards” and TV Land’s ”She’s Got the Look” on television sets in 175 countries and over 70 countries, respectively. Dalva also brought in two of Spike TV’s most successful acquisitions, “Spike’s Wildest Videos” and “Disorderly Conduct.”
Before joining Spike, Dalva had a distinguished career at VH1, serving as Senior Vice President of Programming, Co-Productions and Creative Affairs, where he created the channel’s acquisition and co-production departments, consistently bringing in some of the network’s highest rated programming. He was a key member of the network’s creative strategic team, responsible for the channel’s explosive growth and success. Dalva was also a member of the team which successfully launched VH1 UK and HA!, which later merged with the Comedy Channel to become Comedy Central.
Dalva serves as a Professional in Residence at Harvard University where he mentors students from Harvard College and Harvard Business School.
