New York, NY and Montreal, Canada – August 5, 2014 -  Avan Jogia will play the young renowned Egyptian ruler, King Tutankhamun, in Spike TV’s event series “Tut,” it was announced today by Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike TV.

“We are thrilled to work with such an incredibly gifted young actor who is perfectly suited to take on the immensely complex character of King Tutankhamun,” said Levy.

“Vancouver born actor Avan Jogia will be an outstanding addition to the cast of Tut,” says Michael Prupas, CEO of Muse Entertainment. “Jogia is a hot young talent with a loyal following who has already made a name for himself in film and television.”

Jogia, one of Hollywood’s emerging young actors, will next be seen in Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini’s “Ten Thousand Saints” with Hailee Steinfeld, Emile Hirsch, Asa Butterfield, Ethan Hawke, and Emily Mortimer. Also coming soon will be Eddie O’Keefe’s “Shangri-La Suite” with Emily Browning, Ashley Greene, and Luke Grimes.  He is currently shooting one of the leads of “Outskirts” opposite Ashley Rickards, Eden Sher, and Victoria Justice.  Jogia continues to be represented by ICM Partners and LINK. Tyman Stewart at Characters represents Jogia in Canada.

Last month, Spike announced that legendary actor Ben Kingsley will star in Spike TV’s event series in the key role of “Ay,” the Grand Vizier to King Tutankhamun who wields tremendous power and influence as the top advisor to the young Egyptian ruler.

“Tut” will be shot entirely on location in Morocco and will debut on the network in 2015.  This will be Spike TV’s first scripted event series in eight years and is another step in the network’s move to reaching a more gender-balanced audience.

“Tut” is being produced for Spike TV by Muse Entertainment (“The Kennedys,” “Being Human,” “The Pillars of the Earth,” “Bomb Girls”) with Joel S. Rice and Michael Prupas as Executive Producers from Muse. The project is also executive produced by Greg Gugliotta (“The Fosters”), Michael Vickerman (“Impact”), Elice Island Entertainment’s Jeremy Elice, Angela Mancuso (“Spartacus”), and Director/Executive Producer David Von Ancken (“Hell on Wheels”) and written by Michael Vickerman, Peter Paige & Bradley Bredeweg (“The Fosters”). New York, NY, August 4, 2014 – Good coaches motivate us, inspire us, and teach us the skills to win.  However, there is a growing epidemic of coaches with uncontrollable anger issues spreading across today’s sports landscape. From Bobby Knight to Mike Rice, too many men and women coaching American athletes, of all ages, often cross the line in what is acceptable behavior on the sidelines or in the dugout.

Spike TV has brought together NFL legend Ray Lewis and acclaimed anger management specialist and author Dr. Christian Conte to tackle bad coaching and anger management head on in the new original series, “Coaching Bad.”

The show features nine coaches who have recognized that they need to change their combative and often bombastic ways if they want to continue in the profession they love. The coaches, who come from a variety of different sports from all around the country, move into a Coaching Center in Los Angeles for intense retraining and reconditioning.

This impactful and intensive program, designed personally by Dr. Conte and Lewis, will include three phases of transformation; assessing the coaches’ baseline anger issues; working to create real change; and putting that change to the test.

For many of the coaches, their anger issues have also seriously damaged their relationship with family members and their current employers. For some, the retraining program might be their last chance to save their marriage or keep their jobs.

During the course of the retraining program, various sports figures will lend their perspective on the negative effects of caustic coaching. The list of guest speakers includes Chuck Pagano, Bill Romanowski, and Glen “Big Baby” Davis.

John Irwin, Damian Sullivan and Richard Hall are executive producers for Irwin Entertainment.

Spike TV has ordered eight one-hour episodes of “Coaching Bad.”  The series is shooting in Los Angeles this summer and will debut in the 1st qtr of 2015. Hayley Lozitsky, Vice President, Development, Spike TV will serve as the Executive in Charge of Production. One of the greatest linebackers in NFL history, Ray Lewis played 17 years with the Baltimore Ravens and was named to 13 Pro Bowls and awarded NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2000 and 2003. Lewis won two Super Bowls with the Ravens (named MVP in Super Bowl XXXV) and is currently an NFL broadcaster with ESPN.

Dr. Christian Conte was an award-winning, tenured professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, before he left the West Coast to return to his home state of Pennsylvania. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Psychologist, author, and professional speaker who specializes in Anger Management and Communication. Dr. Conte co-founded a center in South Lake Tahoe, California, to work with people who have been convicted of violent crimes, and he is the creator of Yield theory – a powerful approach to combining radical compassion with conscious education.

New York, NY, July 29, 2014 – Spike TV’s hit original and the first tattoo reality-competition series “Ink Master” returns for a fifth season starting Tuesday, September 2 at 10 pm ET/PT, and this time there’s bad blood in the water.  Tattoo artists from around the country will battle it out to defeat their rival and the other 16 artists in permanent ink and sometimes with each other for a $100,000 grand prize, an editorial feature in Inked and, of course, the bragging rights title of ‘Ink Master.’  This season it is not just about the rivalries you create on the show, each contestant is coming into this competition with a personal tattoo rival.  From convention circuit foes, a former boss vs former employee, brothers and even two of the most infamous rivals in “Ink Master” history, this season’s competition is more personal than ever.

Each week “Ink Master” puts artist through a series of tattoo challenges that are not only designed to test the artists’ technical skills, but also their on-the-spot creativity, where they must create and execute an original tattoo by command on a ‘Human Canvas.’  Each episode focuses on a different and distinct style of tattooing including realism, black and gray, geometric, neo-traditional, Asian and cover-up, among others.   The masterpieces these artists create will last a lifetime, but so will their mistakes.

After every challenge, the contestants face a tough panel made up of series host Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) and world renowned tattoo artists Chris Nunez (“Miami Ink”) and Oliver Peck (Elm Street Tattoo) who are joined by a roster of guest judges including Joe Manganiello, Tommy Montoya and DeAngelo Williams.

Once again the Human Canvases, who volunteer their bodies to be tattooed by the “Ink Master” contestants, will have a say in who gets sent home.  The Canvases will form their own jury, deliberate as a group and pick one artist per episode who will be up for elimination.  In the jury room, viewers get an inside look at the heated arguments and wicked emotions as the Canvases defend or abandon their new ink and artist.

In the season opener the artists put ink-to-skin right from the get-go.  There are eighteen artists standing, including season three rivals Joshua Hibbard and Jason Clay Dunn, and each of them are forced to collaborate with their biggest rival in a tag team tattoo challenge (right away as they are challenged to tattoo as a tag team).

Using the hashtag #ControlTheCon, Spike will program all of its Comic-Con coverage catering to what fans request.  Additionally, Spike will celebrate the industries “Game Changer of the Year,” as voted by the fans – previous winners include Norman Reedus and Robert Kirkman. Spike TV Develops Original Event-Series Based On The Crusades

New York, NY, July 15, 2014 - Spike TV is teaming up with Pierce Brosnan’s Irish DreamTime, Mark Sennet Entertainment, Michael Finch and Academy Award®-winning writer David Franzoni to develop a script for an event series based on the one of the seminal events in world history, the Crusades.

Spike TV’s event-series, “The Crusaders” will be Executive Produced by Brosnan and Beau St. Clair from Irish DreamTime, Mark Sennet (“Bag of Bones”), Brian Gary (“Jefferson Davis: An American President”), and Craig Sheftell from Sennet Entertainment.  Michael Finch (“Predators”) and David Franzoni will Executive Produce and write “The Crusaders.” Franzoni won an Oscar in 2000 for “Gladiator” (Best Picture).

The event-series takes place during the Third Crusade, after the fall of Jerusalem to Saladin’s armies, and centers on two very different knights who journey from Scotland to the Holy Land for very different reasons.  There, bound together in the crucible that is war, politics and betrayal, they will encounter and be forced to overcome, among others, Richard the Lionheart, Saladin, the Hashshashin and ultimately their own personal demons.

Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike TV and Justin Lacob, Vice President, Original Series, will oversee the project.

Spike TV will premiere its first scripted event series in seven years, “Tut,” in 2015. BEN KINGSLEY TO STAR IN SPIKE TV’S EVENT SERIES “TUT”

“Tut” Set To Begin Production This Fall In Morocco and Canada

Premieres On Spike In 2015

New York, NY and Montreal, Canada – July 14, 2014 - Legendary actor Ben Kingsley will star in Spike TV’s event series “Tut,” it was announced today by Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike TV.  Kingsley will bring his wealth of cinematic experience to the key role of “Ay,” the Grand Vizier to King Tutankhamun who wields tremendous power and influence as the top advisor to the young Egyptian ruler.

“Tut is the biggest and most ambitious project in Spike’s history.  Who better to lead the cast than one of the greatest actors of our generation — Ben Kingsley,” said Levy. “The character he plays, Ay, is the true power behind the Tutankhamun throne.  We are so fortunate to have an actor of Ben Kingsley’s stature bring this character to life for Spike.”

Ben Kingsley has earned an Academy Award®, two Golden Globes and two BAFTA Awards for his riveting portrayal of Indian social leader Mahatma and three additional Academy Award nominations for his roles in “Bugsy,” “Sexy Beast,” and “House of Sand and Fog.”   Kingsley’s film roles include “Schindler’s List,” “Gandhi,” “Bugsy,” “Sexy Beast,” “House of Sand and Fog,” “Shutter Island,” and the recent films “Hugo,” “Enders Game,” and “Iron Man 3.”  His upcoming films scheduled for release include “The Walk,” “Autobahn,” “Night at the Museum 3,” “Exodus,” and “Selfless.”

“Tut” will be shot entirely on location in Morocco and will debut on the network in 2015.  This will be Spike TV’s first scripted event series in eight years and is another step in the network’s move to reaching a more gender-balanced audience.

“Tut” will be produced for Spike TV by Muse Entertainment (“The Kennedys,” “Being Human,” “The Pillars of the Earth,” “Bomb Girls”) with Joel S. Rice and Michael Prupas as Executive Producers from Muse. The project is also  executive produced by Greg Gugliotta (“The Fosters”), Michael Vickerman (“Impact”), Elice Island Entertainment’s Jeremy Elice, Angela Mancuso (“Spartacus”), and Director David Von Ancken (“Hell on Wheels”) and written by Michael Vickerman, Peter Paige & Bradley Bredeweg (“The Fosters”). Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike TV will also serve as an Executive Producer. Producers are Irene Litinsky (“Being Human”), Guy Louthan (“The Call”) and Gilles Perrault (“Being Human”).
