SPIKE TV PARTNERS WITH ACCLAIMED FILMMAKER JOE BERLINGER FOR AN EIGHT-PART DOCUSERIES ON THE MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCES AND MURDERS IN CHILLICOTHE, OHIO

June 22nd, 2017 by faziod

Produced by RadicalMedia in Association with Third Eye Motion Picture Company, “Gone: The Forgotten Women Of Ohio” Premieres Saturday, July 22 at 9:00pm ET/PT

New York, NY, June 22, 2017 – Spike TV has joined forces with Academy Award®-nominated and Emmy®-winning documentarian Joe Berlinger (“Paradise Lost” trilogy) for an eye-opening eight-hour event series about the deaths and disappearances of six young women in southern Ohio.

“Gone: The Forgotten Women of Ohio,” premiering Saturday, July 22 at 9:00pm ET/PT is the tragic saga of these young women shrouded in a mystery that includes a dark underbelly of a struggling Midwest region plagued by drug and sex trafficking, and a system that seems to have failed to protect these women.

Over the past three years, a murderous dark cloud has hung over Chillicothe, a small town about an hour’s drive from Columbus, Ohio. Four of the victims’ bodies have been discovered, while two women remain missing, leaving residents terrified and local authorities baffled. The investigation, which is still active and happening in real time, has extended to additional cities in the region as the body count has expanded beyond the original six.

Despite the fact that these women are mothers, wives, and daughters of area residents, many of the victims’ family members are extremely frustrated.  They believe that local law enforcement have dragged their heels on solving these crimes because the victims were involved with either drugs or prostitution…or both. Law Enforcement maintains they have been doing everything possible to solve these murders, while Berlinger and his crew have mounted an investigation of their own to help solve these crimes and look into the accusations of police mishandling.

“Gone: The Forgotten Women of Ohio” digs deep into this tortuous conundrum, uncovering hidden truths and shocking secrets that plague this once idyllic region. Berlinger’s quest is unwavering – to uncover the facts and provide needed closure for the family members of the victims. While there has been other national media attention shining a light on this story, Berlinger’s cameras were amongst the first to arrive and last to leave, so the series provides the most in depth reporting on this case to date.

“As a father of daughters of my own, I could not help but be drawn to wanting to help solve this mystery and to find out why these families felt that they were not getting the justice they deserved,” said Berlinger. “Allocating eight hours of air time to mount a real time investigation as it unfolds was a bold decision by Spike, creating a wonderful collaboration between my team and the network.”

“Although the missing women in Ohio initially garnered national media attention, they seem to have been forgotten about without any real justice being served. After discussing with Joe we were compelled to try and give these women a voice,” explained Chachi Senior, Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming and Development, Spike. “Partnering with Joe has been an extremely humbling experience. He is quite frankly the best at what he does.”

“Gone: The Forgotten Women of Ohio” is produced by RadicalMedia in association with Third Eye Motion Picture Company for Spike. Joe Berlinger serves as director and executive producer. Jon Kamen, Dave O’Connor, and Justin Wilkes are executive producers for RadicalMedia, and Catharine Park also served as executive producer and directed two episodes.

Justin Lacob, Vice President, Original Series is overseeing “Gone: The Forgotten Women of Ohio” for the network.

OSCAR®, GOLDEN GLOBE AND EMMY® AWARD WINNER KEVIN COSTNER TO STAR IN PARAMOUNT NETWORK’S NEW, ORIGINAL SCRIPTED DRAMA SERIES, “YELLOWSTONE”

May 15th, 2017 by faziod

New York, NY, May 15, 2017 – World-renowned actor and Oscar®-winner Kevin Costner will serve in the lead role in “Yellowstone,” the first scripted series greenlit for the Paramount Network.  Written and directed by Oscar®-nominated and critically-acclaimed screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (“Hell or High Water,” “Sicario,” “Wind River”) and executive produced by The Weinstein Company with John and Art Linson (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Fight Club,” “Heat”), “Yellowstone” goes into production for 10 one-hour episodes this fall and will debut on the network in Summer 2018.

“Our goal is to bring premium cinematic storytelling to television. With an icon such as Kevin Costner in front of the camera, and the renowned Taylor Sheridan behind the camera, we are off to a great start,” said Keith Cox, President, Development and Production, Paramount Network and TV Land. “We are thrilled to have such a celebrated actor as Costner to play the lead role in such an important project for Paramount Network,” Cox added.

“Taylor Sheridan wrote a giant of a character in lead John Dutton,” says TWC co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein.  “There was only one actor who could be transformational – Kevin Costner.   This is a coup for the show and fulfills a joint promise that Kevin and I made – that we would find a mutual project to work on.”

In “Yellowstone,” Costner stars as John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, under constant attack by those it borders — land developers, an Indian reservation, and America’s first National Park.  It is an intense study of a violent world far from media scrutiny — where land grabs make developers billions, and politicians are bought and sold by the world’s largest oil and lumber corporations. Where drinking water poisoned by fracking wells and unsolved murders are not news: they are a consequence of living in the new frontier.  It is the best and worst of America seen through the eyes of a family that represents both.

Costner is a critically–acclaimed actor, producer, director, and musician. One of our generation’s most accomplished actors, Costner’s unforgettable portrayals of characters from Eliot Ness in the “Untouchables” to Crash Davis in “Bull Durham,” to Ray Kinsella in “Field of Dreams,” and to Jim Garrison in “JFK,” have fortified his place in American cinematic lore. In television, Costner also won the Emmy Award®, Golden Globe Award®, and the Screen Actors Guild Award® for his role as Devil Anse Hatfield in “Hatfield’s & McCoys.”

Executive Producers for the series include John Linson, Art Linson, Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner, Harvey Weinstein and David Glasser.

PARAMOUNT NETWORK ANNOUNCES FIRST NEW, ORIGINAL SCRIPTED DRAMA SERIES, “YELLOWSTONE”

PARAMOUNT NETWORK ANNOUNCES FIRST NEW, ORIGINAL SCRIPTED DRAMA SERIES, “YELLOWSTONE”

Written and Directed By Taylor Sheridan and Produced by
The Weinstein Company and John and Art Linson
New York, NY, May 3, 2017 – Paramount Network, television’s new premium entertainment brand launching in January 2018, has greenlit a new, original, epic, sweeping cinematic scripted family drama series, “Yellowstone.” The series is written and directed by Oscar®-nominated and critically-acclaimed screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (“Hell or High Water,” “Sicario,” “Wind River”) and executive produced by The Weinstein Company with John and Art Linson (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Fight Club,” “Heat”). “Yellowstone” is slated to go into production for 10 one-hour episodes this fall and will debut on the network in Summer 2018.

“Yellowstone” is the first new big and complex project developed for Paramount Network.

“Yellowstone” follows the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, under constant attack by those it borders — land developers, an Indian reservation, and America’s first National Park.

“I’ve been fortunate to work with partners like Weinstein and John and Art Linson in developing Yellowstone and am grateful that it has found a home in the Paramount Network,” said Sheridan. “The show is both timely and timeless. As much as it explores themes painfully relevant to the world today, it explores the very essence of family, and how the actions of one member can alter the course of generations.”

“Yellowstone exemplifies what a Paramount Network original dramatic series will be with premium storytelling, high production values, compelling characters, and the best talent behind the camera and in front of it,” said Keith Cox, President, Development and Production for Paramount Network.

TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein commented, “Taylor has penned yet another incredible story that dives into the fascinating tensions and rivalries of the modern American frontier and we’re excited to explore his talent in a longer format. Kevin Kay, Keith Cox, and the entire team at the new Paramount Network have a clear dedication to creating the highest caliber TV and we’re thrilled to continue developing these amazing projects with them.”

Sheridan is widely-regarded as one of Hollywood’s most sought-after writer/directors with recent projects such as “Hell or High Water,” starring Jeff Bridges and Chris Pine, which received an Academy-Award® and Golden Globe Nomination for Best Screenplay, and “Sicario,” starring Benicio del Toro, Emily Blunt, and Josh Brolin which garnered various nominations including the prestigious Writers Guild of America Award for Best Screenplay.  Sheridan made his directorial debut with “Wind River,” starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January and will premiere nationwide this summer.

Executive Producers for the series include John Linson, Art Linson, Taylor Sheridan, Harvey Weinstein and David Glasser.
