Lauren Ruggiero Promoted To Vice President, Scripted Original Series, Spike TV




Los Angeles, CA, July 19, 2016– Lauren Ruggiero has been promoted to Vice President, Scripted Original Series, Spike TV, it was announced today by Ted Gold, Senior Vice President, of Scripted Original Series, to whom she will continue to report.

In her new position, Ruggiero will continue to expand the development slate and co-manage scripted show production, including the highly anticipated upcoming series, “The Mist.”

“Lauren has excellent creative instincts and is a terrific asset to our team,” says Gold.  “She’s been instrumental in developing our ever-growing slate of scripted dramas and will continue to work tirelessly towards Spike’s mission to deliver bold and original series.”

Ruggiero first worked closely with Spike as a co-producer on the hit limited event series, “Tut,” when she was a working for Elice Island Entertainment.  Since joining Spike, Ruggiero has been involved in all scripted projects in various stages of development, including projects from major studio players, independents and several developed in-house.  She started her career in entertainment at the William Morris Agency as an agent trainee in their television literary department.   After a year in the agency trenches, she moved on to become a coordinator of original programming at AMC, where she worked on various hit series, including “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad,” “The Killing” and “The Walking Dead.”

Spike TV debuted its first scripted event series in eight years, “Tut,” last July to strong ratings and has recently ordered to series “The Mist,” from TWC-Dimension Television (TV) based on the classic Stephen King novella and “Red Mars” based on Kim Stanley Robinson’s award-winning “Mars Trilogy.”
