DENGUE FEVER FORCES PHILIPE LINS OUT OF BOUT AGAINST FRANCIS CARMONT, ROY ‘BLACK DYNAMITE’ BOUGHTON STEPS UP ON SHORT-NOTICE

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (September 10, 2015) – Two rising talents in Glory’s featherweight division have been added to an action-packed kickboxing line-up taking place at “Bellator MMA: Dynamite 1” on Saturday, September 19 at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. Amsterdam-based Serhiy Adamchuk (29-5, 14 KO), originally from Ukraine, will meet muay Thai world champion Anvar Boynazarov (79-20-2, 45 KO) of California, by way of Uzbekistan, in a fight to determine the next Glory featherweight contender.

In addition to the kickboxing fight being added to the prelims, the alternate bout for the light heavyweight tournament will feature a new opponent for Francis Carmont, (23-10) coming in the form of Roy “Black Dynamite” Boughton (12-5). Carmont was slated to take on Philipe Lins, but the Brazilian was forced to withdraw when he fell ill with Dengue Fever.

Adamchuk was originally slated to face Glory Featherweight World Champion Gabriel Varga at the event before the Canadian suffered an injury during training camp. The winner of this fight will now be next in line to face Varga for the title on an upcoming card. Adamchuk debuted at Glory 22 in June, stepping in on 24 hours notice to beat lightweight contender Marat Grigorian in one of the biggest upsets of 2015 thus far. Boynazarov debuted last month at Glory 23, defeating highly touted Georgian prospect Giga Chikadze, training out of Kings MMA.

“Bellator MMA: Dynamite 1” airs live and free on Spike at 9/8c. Tickets for the historic event start at just $30 and are on sale now at the SAP Center box office and are also available for purchase at Ticketmaster.com, as well as Bellator.com.

For the first time ever, “Bellator MMA: Dynamite 1” will feature both a Bellator MMA cage and a Glory kickboxing ring on one arena floor at the same time. In the evening’s main event, Tito Ortiz (18-11) will challenge the undefeated Bellator Light Heavyweight World Champion, Liam McGeary (10-0) for the title.

Additionally, the previously announced fight card features a Glory kickboxing title fight featuring Zack Mwekassa (13-2, 12 KO) and Saulo Cavalari (31-2, 19 KO) for the vacant Light Heavyweight Championship, as well as Bellator MMA competitors Paul “Semtex” Daley (37-13-2) and Fernando “The Menifee Maniac” Gonzalez (24-13) also competing in Glory action, when they trade-in the MMA gloves for kickboxing gloves. Finally, recently signed Keri Anne Taylor-Melendez (2-1) will compete in kickboxing action against Hadley Griffith.

On the mixed martial arts side, Bellator MMA will also conduct a four-man, one-night light heavyweight tournament to determine the No. 1 contender in the division that features Phil Davis (13-3) taking on Emanuel Newton (25-8-1) and Linton Vassell (15-4-1) facing Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (15-4, 1 NC). Newly signed lightweight standout Josh “The Punk” Thomson (20-8, 1 NC) is also in action, when he makes his Bellator MMA debut against Mike “The Greek Assassin” Bronzoulis (18-8-1).

“The John McAfee Project” To Debut On Spike In April 2016

September 9th, 2015 by faziod

“THE JOHN McAFEE PROJECT” TO DEBUT ON SPIKE IN APRIL 2016

Six Part Series To Be The Definitive Inside Look At The Tech Pioneer and Recently Announced Presidential Candidate

New York, NY, September 9, 2015 – Spike’s six-part television event, “The McAfee Project,” that will shed light on the brilliant yet complicated tech pioneer John McAfee will debut in April, 2016.

Viewed by some as the godfather of online security and by others as the master manipulator of fear, McAfee announced earlier today he is running for President of the United States.

Directed and Executive Produced by Billy Corben (“Cocaine Cowboys”), the docuseries will be centered around McAfee’s first-person interviews and will reveal unanswered questions about his life ranging from drug-fueled college days in Virginia, to learning to battle computer viruses early in his career at Lockheed in the 1980’s, to starting McAfee and Associates in 1987, to the 2012 murder investigation in Belize.

“The McAfee Project” is produced by the critically-acclaimed and Emmy-winning rakontur (“Cocaine Cowboys,” “VH1’s The Tanning of America,” “Dawg Fight”) with Alfred Spellman and Corben as Executive Producers and Impact Future Media with Francois Garcia and Kimberley Berlin as Executive Producers.

The series will also feature first-person interviews with those close to McAfee along with reenactments featuring pivotal seasons in his life.

In April, 2012, John McAfee, a world-renowned billionaire computer anti-virus pioneer, found himself at the center of Central America’s hottest manhunt in recent history. McAfee was named a “person of interest,” but not a suspect, by police officials in Belize following the murder of his neighbor. McAfee went on the run for three weeks before crossing the border into Guatemala. He was detained by Guatemalan authorities soon after entry, and was soon fighting against deportation to Belize.

McAfee claims the police and drug cartels in Belize were out to kill him thus the escape to Guatemala. He also reportedly faked a series of heart attacks to prevent deportation to Belize and aid safe passage back to the United States. Following a lengthy legal battle, he was deported to the United States while his home in Belize mysteriously burned to the ground.

Was this celebrated tech genius really involved in the murder of a neighbor?  Or does he have nefarious enemies out to destroy him and crumble his empire?  Or is the man who earned enormous success and wealth based on the public’s online security fears and paranoia playing another mind-game?

McAfee continues to be a prophet of internet protection.  In 2010, the company he founded (McAfee Associates) was sold to Intel for an incredible $7.8 billion and four years later they announced they would be changing their name from McAfee to Intel Security.  Recently, McAfee launched Future Tense Central, a security and privacy company offering innovative mobile and web applications with the highest degree of security, empowering the user with the knowledge and awareness to make informed decisions about their personal information. Is this another tech game-changer or another example of McAfee manipulating the public’s fear and paranoia?

Sharon Levy is Spike TV’s Executive Vice President, Original Series, Chachi Senior is Senior Vice President of Original Series for Spike TV, and Justin Lacob is Vice President, Original Series.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. The bout will take place during the main card of “Bellator 144: Galvao vs. Dantas 2,” which will be televised live on Spike at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, while preliminary bouts will stream on Spike.com at 7 p.m. ET.

The main event of “Bellator 144: Galvao vs. Dantas 2” features an exciting rematch for the bantamweight title fight between champion Marcos Galvao (17-6-1) and his former training partner Eduardo Dantas, (17-4). In the co-feature, Brandon “Bull” Halsey (9-0) will look to regain the vacant Bellator MMA Middleweight Title when he takes on Rafael Carvalho (11-1).
