Spike TV’s Deadliest Warrior is Joining the Knights of Chivalry for Epic New Battles. New Warriors to Make Their Debut at PAX Prime

NEW YORK, N.Y., August 26, 2013 – Six of history’s most ruthless and notorious warriors slash their way onto the battlefield of Torn Banner’s hit PC game, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare for a true battle royale in the new expansion pack, CHIVALRY: DEADLIEST WARRIOR, based on the Spike TV series, “Deadliest Warrior”

Fans will get their first glimpse of the expansion pack when it makes its public debut at PAX Prime in booth #3636, August 30 – September 2. The extensive demo will present in-depth game play with the first two announced warriors—the notorious Spartan and Samurai. Players can join the beta soon to experience combat of all five new warriors with a variety of new modes and lush new environments. The complete expansion pack will be unleashed this Fall for $14.99 on Steam. The base Chivalry game is available now for $24.99.

Already played by over a million gamers, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is known for its exceptional first-person combat. The Deadliest Warrior expansion adds completely new game modes and content, allowing players to create any number of unique battle situations:

Game Modes
Mixed Team Death Match: Mix and match warriors to create extraordinary teams and unique battle situations with up 64 players on the battlefield at once.
Faction Battle: Set up grudge matches between two warrior factions with only one warrior type per team. Players vote on the scenario for the next battle at the end of each match.
Warrior Duel: Select your warrior and challenge a single enemy to one-on-one combat in this comprehensive duel mode.
Free for All: Fight for your own glory in a free-for-all where warrior fends for themselves. No teams. No alliances. Full-on mayhem.
Custom Battles: Server side options allowing you to create custom battles with any number of teams and any number of factions or mixed teams allowed.

Mode Customization
Multi-Team: Add more chaos to every game mode, with up 6 teams competing for victory in a single match.
Capture the Flag: Add this mini-game to modes to slash your way to victory while trying to steal the flag and plant it in the enemy’s base.
Elimination: Remove the ability to re-spawn, raising the stakes of each battle.

Leaderboards and Stats
Track the best players in the online community and monitor personal stats, including number of kills, most successful warriors and most effective weapons. Compete for glory on the globally ranked leaderboards that reflect weekly and all-time stats and enable players to determine who is deadliest.

New York, NY, August 21, 2013 – “Bar Rescue” star and renowned bar and nightlife expert Jon Taffer teams up with acclaimed celebrity chef and author John Besh and “Top Chef All-Star” Tiffany Derry to seek out and help “diamond in the rough” failing restaurants meet their potential in the new Spike TV series, “Hungry Investors.”

Spike TV has ordered 10 one-hour episodes. The series, produced by Eyeworks USA, goes into production this fall and will premiere in spring 2014.

Each week, the ‘Hungry Investors’ team puts two struggling restaurants to the test to prove they deserve a second chance at success. The enterprise that shows the most promise of turning things around earns a significant cash investment. Both establishments seek to prove to the expert team that the only thing keeping them from financial fortune and success is finding an investor who believes in them.

The three-member ‘Hungry Investors’ team is a venerable all-star squad of restaurateurs, featuring three experts from different parts of the country who possess business acumen and impeccable knowledge of the food industry.

A longtime fixture in the restaurant, bar and nightclub business, Jon Taffer is an internationally recognized, award-winning restaurant operator, owner and concept developer. He’s a respected industry “voice” with nearly 30 years of hands-on experience in over 800 establishments worldwide, with expertise in the creation, development and management of casual restaurants, entertainment venues, nightclubs, bars, stadium and arena food service, resort facilities and large theme restaurants.  In January 2010, Taffer was appointed President of Questex Media Group LLC’s Nightclub & Bar Media Group, which includes the Nightclub & Bar Convention and Trade Show, Nightclub & Bar magazine and related digital media products.

John Besh is the executive chef and co-owner of Besh Restaurant Group, based in New Orleans, in addition to his work as an author and philanthropist. His collection of nine highly acclaimed restaurants includes August (twice nominated for the James Beard “Outstanding Restaurant” Award) La Provence, Lüke, Lüke San Antonio, Besh Steak, American Sector, Soda Shop, Domenica and Borgne. He has been recognized with several of the highest honors awarded to a chef, including Food & Wine‘s “Ten Best New Chefs in America” in 1999 and “Best Chef in the Southeast” by the James Beard Foundation in 2006. In 2007, The Sundance Iconoclasts series featured him as a creative visionary whose passion helped transform a culture. Besh’s two cookbooks, “My New Orleans” (October 2009) and “My Family Table” (November 2011) were each recognized with an International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) Award, and his third cookbook, “Cooking From The Heart,” is set to be published in fall 2013. The John Besh Foundation oversees the Chefs Move! scholarship program, in addition to a microloan program for local Louisiana and Mississippi farmers.

Beaumont, Texas native Tiffany Derry began her career in hospitality when she was 15 years old at International House of Pancakes (IHOP).  By age 17, she was the youngest person ever to earn a management position in the company. After attending The Art Institute of Houston, Derry worked her way up to executive sous chef at Grotto Cucina Napolitano. Later, she moved to Dallas to become an instructor at the Art Institute of Dallas Culinary School, and also served as executive chef at the acclaimed Go Fish Ocean Club. Derry gained national fame as a contestant on the seventh season of Bravo’s “Top Chef.” Derry’s overall talent and strong demeanor led her far into the competition, and made her a natural choice for “Top Chef All-Stars,” where she made it to the final four.  Most recently Derry was brought on to help Patrick Halbert and Andy Austin build the Private | Social restaurant in Dallas from the ground up.

NEW YORK – August 5, 2013 – Spike TV’s new, non-scripted original series, “Catch A Contractor,” aims to finally turn the tables on shady contractors.  Host Adam Carolla serves as a vigilant watchdog to homeowners who have been cheated by a contractor and left with an unfinished disaster.

Carolla, a renowned television, radio and internet personality with one of the most downloaded podcasts in the world, is also a passionate master carpenter who easily identifies shoddy, inferior work. He takes it personally when contractors pass off their subpar work on average citizens and leave homeowners holding the bag.

Each episode will follow Carolla, along with no-nonsense contractor Skip Bedell and his wife, investigator Alison Bedell, as they seek retribution for wronged homeowners, whose construction nightmares range from the laughably incompetent to frighteningly hazardous homes that have been left completely torn apart.  Carolla and the Bedells hunt down and confront unscrupulous builders, drag them back to their construction disasters, and make them finish the job right.  Carolla and his expert team share their knowledge and ingenuity with the builders – not only in an effort to deliver homeowners the job they paid for, but also to give these suspect contractors the opportunity to redeem themselves.
