Unscripted Series To Follow Two Real Estate Investors Who Turn
Foreclosed Property Into Profit

New York, NY, July, 2011 – Spike TV has picked up 12 episodes of a new, original series, “Flip Men.” The half-hour, unscripted series will premiere Tuesday, October 25 at 10:30pm ET/PT and is executive produced and created by Dave Broome (“Biggest Loser”) and 25/7 Productions.

“Flip Men” will showcase the young, entrepreneurial duo of Utah-based Doug Clark and Mike Baird, who constantly roll the dice with their financial fates by buying and flipping foreclosed property. In each episode, the hosts will walk viewers through the often-tenuous process that is involved and provide tips and analysis along their journey.

“The heart of the series is our enterprising, ambitious hosts who look to persevere in the financially precarious world of real estate,” said Tim Duffy, senior vice president, original series, Spike TV.

The show will first spotlight the fierce, daily bidding war at housing auctions where Doug and Mike acquire foreclosed homes often sight unseen. Following the purchase, cameras will follow them as they enter a newly purchased house, where you never know what’s behind the door: a biohazard, a meth lab, or a squatter who just doesn’t want to leave. Time is of the essence as they have to clean up the place, renovate it, stage it, get it to market and flip it. It’s a race against time because every day means thousands of dollars out of their pocket.

“When Doug and Mike fix up a once-dilapidated property, the positive effect on a community is tremendous,” said Sharon Levy, executive vice president of original series and animation for Spike TV. “Their efforts help strengthen a neighborhood which, in turn, has shown to help reduce crime.”

The series will be shot on location in Salt Lake City this summer.

“Flip Men” is the latest original series that aims at broadening Spike’s Male 18-34 audience. The network has found success with “Auction Hunters,” currently the network’s second highest-rated unscripted series and “Coal,” both delivering strong demo ratings.

NEW YORK, NY – July 13, 2011 – Spike TV is taking its hunt for the “Deadliest Warrior” to San Diego Comic-Con.   The network announced today its plans for the “Deadliest Warrior – Vampire vs. Zombies” panel on Thursday, July 21 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, the launch of a new “Deadliest Warrior” augmented reality mobile app available on iPhones and iPads beginning Thursday, July 21 and a hosted video game tournament at the Spike TV Booth for its new “Deadliest Warrior: Legends” game.  During Comic-Con, Spike will also host an autograph signing with TNA wrestlers Kurt Angle and Mickie James on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23 at 1:00PM and 3:00PM, respectively, at Booth #3945.

Vampires and Zombies have terrorized and tantalized their way through pop culture for decades – from “Dracula” to the “Twilight Saga” to “Walking Dead.”  SPIKE TV and its “DEADLIEST WARRIOR” franchise are going to finally answer the question – which of these mythical creatures would come out on top in a fight to the finish?  “DEADLIEST WARRIOR” steps outside the confines of history for this groundbreaking fantasy episode destined to rouse heated debates amongst fans in the blogosphere for months.  The special episode features an array of icons of film and fiction who are authorities on the topic.  Through these expert interviews, scientific tests and careful analysis, it will be determined who would win in a battle to the death between these two iconic groups, Zombies and Vampires. The “DEADLIEST WARRIOR ” team of Richard “Mack” Machowicz, Dr. Armand Dorian, Rasha Drachkovitch, Robert Daly and special guests Wes Craven, Max Brooks and Steve Niles will be on hand for this special Comic Con panel to make their case for who is, indeed, the fiercest. Acclaimed Los Angeles Times writer and HeroComplex.com founder Geoff Boucher will serve as moderator. 

Thursday, July 21:Deadliest Warrior” Virtual Mobile Scavenger Hunt .  Spike TV has partnered with GoldRun to allow Comic-Con attendees to interact with various augmented reality (AR) warriors.  Throughout Comic-Con, attendees will get to enter the world of “Deadliest Warrior.”  Fans will get to hunt and capture the series warriors during the “Deadliest Warrior “ Scavenger Hunt.   Users are encouraged to take a picture with the warriors and upload them to the Warrior’s Den Facebook page.

“Faceoff” – Attendees to the Spike TV booth will get the opportunity to “Conquer Warriors” by striking a fighting pose with the AR character.  A new warrior will be released each day (Joan Of Arc, George Washington and Ghengis Kahn.).  Designated iPads will stream the action to the booth’s monitors.  Players will be prompted to upload these photos to their Facebook profiles as well as the Warrior’s Den Facebook page.

“Warrior’s Wardrobe” – Through this portion of the application, participants at the Spike TV booth can become George Washington or Ghengis Kahn by taking a picture of themselves with virtual props; George Washington’s wig and tricorn hat or Ghengis Kahn’s helmet. A slideshow of the best images rotate on the monitors at the Spike TV booth. 

“Vampires vs Zombies Face-off” – this component of the app allows Comic-Con attendees to take photos of zombies, vampires, floating body parts and animated blood at the “Deadliest Warrior” panel. Players can then present their pictures for exclusive giveaways at the Spike TV booth.

Thursday, July 21- Sunday, July 24 – Deadliest Warrior:  Legends” Video Game Tournament.  Throughout Comic-Con, fans can swing by the Spike TV booth to play the recently launched “Deadliest Warrior” video game.   Attendees can put their metal where their mouths are and battle the fiercest warriors in history with all new weapons, interactive environments, hand-to-hand combat and new finishing moves.  Prizes include DVDs, t-shirts, posters and more.

Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23 – TNA Wrestler Autograph Signing at Spike Booth #3945.   Kurt Angle will sign autographs on Friday, July 22 at 1:00PM.  Mickie James will sign autographs on Saturday, July 23 at 3:00PM.

New York, NY, July 7, 2011 – Spike TV’s highest-rated non-scripted original entertainment series, “Auction Hunters,” returns with brand new episodes of season 2 starting Tuesday, July 19 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT.  A special new New England-area-based episode will air Sunday, July 17 at 9:30 PM as a lead in to the premiere of Spike TV’s new series, “Bar Rescue.”  

“Auction Hunters” explores the cutthroat world of storage-unit auctions with two of the best prospectors in the business, Allen Haff and Ton Jones.  Every day in America, there are over ten thousand abandoned storage units that are put up for public auction.  Each unit has the potential to be a goldmine or a bust for those who make their living hunting unclaimed property.  The series offers viewers a rare look into the high stakes, financial risks and potential rewards where the right purchase can bring in serious cash.

In the new upcoming episodes, Haff and Jones uncover high-valued items including a 1990s military-grade Tomahawk cruise missile jet engine valued at $15,000 and an 1800s naval cane sword with hidden telescope valued at $25,000.  The duo will also discover rarities such as a late 1970s Z-Flex Jimmy Plumer Poolrider skateboard with original artwork by Doug Smith valued at $4,000 and an 1870s French Dolne “Apache” knuckle-duster revolver valued at $3,600.

Allen Haff is a second generation antiques dealer and collector with over 20 years of experience in the field.  By the age of 24, he owned his first antique business in Houston, TX and was one of the earliest eBay sellers of vintage collectibles online.  He moved to Los Angeles ten years ago and immediately began hunting in storage unit auctions, Hollywood thrift stores, estate sales and swap meets and earned a living buying and selling antiques and collectibles.  In 2008, Haff started Hollywood & Vintage, a high volume liquidation company specializing in movie memorabilia and vintage collectibles that he operates from his office and warehouse in Los Angeles.

Ton Jones is a self-described hobbyist who has spent years hunting and fishing, as well as collecting knives, swords, guns, old currency and jewelry.  Jones was introduced to storage unit auctions more than seven years ago when he was looking for old cars to take into the desert to wreck for fun, but what he found was a world specifically tailored to his unique skills.  Jones, an imposing figure standing over 6’0”, 300lbs., is a renowned auction hunter in the Southern California area.  Jones’ expertise lays in rare coins and weaponry, such as medieval swords, daggers and armor.
