Brian J. Diamond is senior vice president, sports and specials for Spike TV. Diamond oversees sports and specials development and production, as well as documentaries.
Diamond, most recently Vice President, Sports and Specials, Spike TV, joined the network in 2004. As Executive in Charge of Production, his credits included a weekly baseball series, "Maximum MLB", two specials with Sports Illustrated-SI's 20 Greatest College Basketball Players Ever" and the NFL-SI 2005 Preview show and the debut of "AutoRox"-the first nationally televised car awards show. Currently, Diamond oversees the production of all of Spike's MMA and wrestling programming including the hit series "The Ultimate Fighter", the "Ultimate Fight Night" franchise and an assortment of the UFC's best fights in the form of a weekly series "Unleashed," as well as Spike's wrestling property, "TNA: iMPACT!".
Prior to joining Spike TV, Mr. Diamond worked most recently as Senior Vice-President of Original Programming for Radio City Entertainment, a member of the Cablevision family. There, he oversaw the development of an electronic media strategy and the creation of original programming concepts while evaluating and expanding existing properties both digitally and electronically. Diamond began his television career helping to launch MTV in 1981 as a producer, where he worked on MTV's annual "New Year's Eve Rock'n Roll Ball", coverage of two US Festivals, Live Aid, the first MTV Video Music Awards pre-awards and a variety of premiere events including Prince's "Under the Cherry Moon", Sting's "Bring on the Night" and "Pretty in Pink". His success at MTV led Diamond to be selected to a six-member startup team that launched MTV Europe, where he was Head of Studio Productions and, later, Director of Music Programming, Talent Relations and Programming Acquisitions.
Diamond is a graduate of Adelphi University with a degree in Communications.
