Truck Tech: 4 Speed Tutorial: GM's 4L60-E

What you need to know about how to rebuild and upgrade GM's 4L60E four speed automatic overdrive transmission.

(COURTNEY)>> AND NOWPOWERNATION CONTINUES HERE

ON SPIKE WITH THIS ALL NEWEPISODE OF TRUCK TECH.

(RYAN)>> HEY GUYS,WELCOME TO TRUCK TECH.

TODAY WE'VE GOT OUR '93CHEVY 1500 BACK IN THE SHOP,

OUR LOW BUCK SPORT TRUCK.

NOW WE'RE DOING A LITTLE BITOF WORK IN THE ENGINE BAY,

CLEANING THINGS UP, ANDMAKING IT READY FOR THE

INSTALLATION OF OURNEWLY ASSEMBLED AND

MILDLY BUILT 383 ENGINE.

NOW IT STARTED OUT AS ASTROKER SHORT BLOCK THAT WE

ADDED A DECENT PAIR OFCYLINDER HEADS TO ALONG WITH

A PERFORMANCE CAM SHAFT.

(KEVIN)>> ANOTHER UPGRADE WEDECIDED TO THROW ON WAS THE

FAST MULTI-PORT TOP END KIT.

AND WE ALSO OPTEDFOR FAST PERFORMANCE

COIL AND IGNITION BOX.

THE FAST E-C-U IS IN BEHINDTHE FIREWALL WITH THE WIRING

HARNESS RUNNING THROUGH,MAKING EVERYTHING SEE EACH

OTHER WITH ONE BIG HAPPYFAMILY OF COMPONENTS.

NOW THE PLUGS ARE ALLMULTI-PIN PROFESSIONAL O-E

LOOKING PLUGS, AND THIS ISA RELATIVELY SIMPLE BOLT

ON PERFORMANCE UPGRADE.

SO WHILE RYAN'S TACKLINGANOTHER PROJECT I'M GONNA

TAKE CARE OF SOME OF THISWIRING THAT'S LEFT OVER.

(RYAN)>> NOW THAT PROJECTTHAT KEVIN IS TALKING ABOUT

IS THE FRESHENING UP OFOUR FOUR-L-60-E FOUR SPEED

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.

NOW REBUILDING ONE OF THESETHINGS ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE,

BUT IT DOES TAKE A FEWSPECIAL TOOLS AND A

LITTLE BIT OF KNOW HOW.

SO RATHER THAN TRY TO TEARINTO THIS THING OURSELVES,

BUY SOME SPECIAL TOOLS,SPEND A COUPLE OF DAYS

REBUILDING IT, WE'RE GONNATAKE IT TO A LOCAL EXPERT

WHO CAN KNOCK IT OUT, GET ITDONE QUICKLY AND CORRECTLY

SO WE CAN GET THISTHING BACK ON THE ROAD.

BUT WE ARE GONNA TAKE YOUGUYS ALONG FOR THE RIDE TO

SHOW YOU WHAT HAPPENS.

SO WE MADE IT DOWN TOOUR LOCAL COLEMAN-TAYLOR

TRANSMISSION SHOP JUST AFEW MILES FROM OUR PLACE.

NOW THESE GUYS REBUILDAND REPLACE TRANSMISSIONS

ALL DAY LONG.

IN FACT THIS SHOP KNOCKSOUT ABOUT 60 A MONTH.

NOW THE GUY WE BOUGHTOUR TRUCK FROM SAID THAT

TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN GONETHROUGH AT ONE TIME, BUT

WE'RE NOT SURE WHATTHAT MEANS OR HOW

LONG AGO THAT WAS.

SO MAYBE THESE GUYSCAN HELP US OUT.

NOW MOST PEOPLE, CAR GUYSINCLUDED, WOULDN'T EVEN

THINK ABOUT TACKLING A JOBLIKE THIS BECAUSE AUTOMATIC

TRANSMISSIONS ARECOMPLICATED AND THEY CAN BE

DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND.

(STUART)>> REALLY THEBIGGEST MISCONCEPTION IS

WHAT WE ACTUALLY DOINSIDE THE TRANSMISSION.

IT'S NOT SOMETHING PEOPLECAN SEE AS FAR AS REBUILDING

THE PIECES INSIDE.

(RYAN)>> OUR LEAD TECH,JAMIE WISE, OBVIOUSLY

LIKES WHAT HE DOES.

(JAMIE)>> I LOVE DOING THISBECAUSE OF BEING ABLE TO TAKE

SOMETHING APART AND PUT ITBACK TOGETHER AND MAKING IT

WORK, THE CHALLENGE OF IT.

(RYAN)>> NOW TEARDOWNHAPPENS QUICK AND HE KEEPS

ORGANIZED BY PUTTINGTHE HARD PARTS ON HIS

TRANSMISSION INTERNALS,CHRISTMAS TREE LOOKING RACK

BECAUSE THE MAJORITY OFTHESE HARD PARTS GET

CLEANED, INSPECTED,AND REUSED.

WHILE THINGS LIKE CLUTCHESAND SEALS, WELL THEY

HIT THE TRASH PILE.

NOW JAMIE'S BEENDOING THIS A WHILE.

IN FACT, HE'S BEEN AT ITFOR ABOUT 30 YEARS, AND

HE'S REBUILT HUNDREDSIF NOT THOUSANDS

OF THESE TRANSMISSIONS.

HECK HE CAN PROBABLY DOIT WITH HIS EYES CLOSED.

NOW WE DIDN'T TELL HIM THATSOMEBODY HAD OVERHAULED THIS

TRANSMISSION SOMETIME IN ITSPRIOR LIFE, BUT IT ONLY TOOK

HIM A FEW SECONDS FOR HIM TOREALIZE SOMEBODY'S CRACKED

INTO IT BEFORE, AND ITWAS MORE THAN ONE CLUE

THAT GAVE IT AWAY.

(JAMIE)>> VALVE BODY BOLTSIN THE WRONG PLACE, AND THE

PARKING PULL ROD, ONE BOLTMISSING OUT OF IT JUST

LAYING IN THEBOTTOM OF THE PAN.

SO THAT TELLS ME SOMEBODY'SBEEN MESSING WITH IT.

THAT LOOKED GOOD DIDN'T IT.

(RYAN)>> NOW WITH ALL OURINTERNAL PARTS ON A RACK

THAT ARE POSSIBLY GONNA GETREUSED, JAMIE SLIDES THEM

INTO A HEAVY DUTYINDUSTRIAL STEAM CLEANER.

THAT'LL MAKE INSPECTIONTHAT MUCH EASIER.

NOW OBVIOUSLY THESE GUYSHAVE BUILT THEIR FAIR SHARE

OF FOUR-L-60'S, AND I DOUBTTHERE'S ANY PARTS INSIDE

THOSE TRANSMISSIONS THAT YOUCAN'T FIND IN THIS BACK ROOM

FULL OF PARTS AWAITINGTHE REBUILD PROCESS.

BUT FOR NOW LETS GO CHECKOUT THE PARTS THAT ARE GOING

INSIDE OUR TRANSMISSION.

NOW THE MASTER REBUILDKIT THAT'S GOING IN OUR

TRANSMISSION CAME FROMT-C-I, AND IT INCLUDES

EVERYTHING WE NEED.

NEW FILTERS, SEALS, GASKETS,O-RINGS, ALL THE SMALL PARTS

WE NEED, ALONG WITH NEWFRICTIONS AND STEELS, A NEW

BAND, A FEW SMALL PARTSTO IMPROVE THE SHIFTING.

WE ALSO PICKED UP A NEWSERVO AND A BOOST VALVE TO

BUMP LINE PRESSURE, AND A10 VEIN BILLET PUMP ROTOR

UPGRADE ALONG WITHENOUGH FLUID TO GET

US UP AND RUNNING.

NOW FOR MOST PEOPLE, A STOCKREBUILD IS ALL THEY'RE

AFTER, BUT WE WANT TO BACKUP OUR BUILT ENGINE WITH

A BUILT TRANSMISSION.

STUART AND THE GUYSWERE ACCOMMODATING.

(STUART)>> NORMALLY WEFURNISH ALL THE PARTS.

IN YOUR CASE YOU HAD SOMESPECIALTY STUFF FROM T-C-I

THAT'S PERFORMANCE STUFF.

AND WE DO PERFORMANCEUPGRADES AND THAT KIND OF

WORK ALSO, BUT NORMALLY ONTHE VEHICLES THAT WE'RE

WORKING ON IT'S BACK TO THEFACTORY SPECIFICATIONS.

(RYAN)>> NOW THETRANSMISSION INTERNALS GOT

CLEANED IN THE STEAMCLEANER, BUT THE

TRANSMISSION CASE WASA LITTLE TOO LARGE.

SO COREY CLEANED UP BYHAND IN A SOLVENT TANK.

AND WITH ALL THE INTERNALSCLEAN, NOW IT WAS TIME FOR

INSPECTION AND REASSEMBLY.

(ANNOUNCER)>> WHEN WECOME BACK, WE'LL START

ADDING PARTS IN OURFOUR-L-60-E REBUILD.

AND LATER WE'LL VISIT BULLYDOG'S HEADQUARTERS IN IDAHO.

JOINED BY THE BUILDER/OWNER

OF THIS '64 FORDTHUNDERBOLT TRIBUTE CAR.

THIS IS MIKE RIDERAND HE'S THE OWNER

OF TIN BENDERS GARAGE.

WHERE DID THATNAME COME FROM?

(MIKE R.)>> WELL I WAS INTHE AIRCRAFT INDUSTRY FOR

QUITE A FEW YEARS INREBUILDING CRASHED AIRCRAFT,

AND THE TIN BENDERNAME ACTUALLY CAME

FROM WORLD WAR TWO.

SO IT JUST KINDA WENT ONINTO THAT FIELD AS FAR AS

SHEET METAL WORK.

(COURTNEY)>> VERY COOL,THIS IS A UNIQUE CAR.

(MIKE R.)>> YESACTUALLY THERE WAS 100

OF THEM PRODUCED.

THE FIRST 11 WERE 289 HYPOCARS, AND THEY TOOK THEM

BACK TO DEARBORN STEEL, ANDWITH A LOT OF MODIFICATIONS,

THE SHOCK TOWERS WERE CUTTO BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE

THE 427 BIG BLOCK.

THERE WAS A LOT OF WEIGHTTAKEN OUT OF THE CAR.

SO THE CAR ACTUALLY HAD TOTAKE AND WEIGH IN THE RANGE

OF ABOUT 3,200 POUNDS.

(COURTNEY)>> THE ONLY ONESI'VE EVER SEEN ARE WHITE.

(MIKE R.)>> WELL THE FIRST11 WERE ACTUALLY PAINTED

VINTAGE BURGUNDY ANDTHE REMAINING LOT OF

THE CARS WERE WHITE.

(COURTNEY)>> YOU GOT YOURFIRST RIDE IN THE CALIFORNIA

FLASH WHEN YOU WERE A KID.

WHAT WAS IT THATCAPTIVATED YOU?

(MIKE R.)>> THENEED FOR SPEED.

BEING IN A RACE CAR OR DRAGCAR, SITTING STILL, YOU HAVE

ALL THAT HORSEPOWERIN FRONT OF YOU.

AND THEN WITHIN ASPLIT SECOND IT TURNS

INTO A VIOLENT ACT.

YOU CAN TAKE OFF DOWN THETRACK AND IT'S AN ADRENALINE

RUSH, IT'S MAINLY THAT,JUST PURE ADRENALINE.

(COURTNEY)>> SO MIKE, WHATARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?

(MIKE R.)>> I HAVEIN THE SHOP A 1963

FORD FAIRLANE FOUR DOOR.

IT'S ACTUALLYONE OF ONE LEFT.

SO I HAVE THE ORIGINALONE, I'M DOING ALL THE

RESTORATION ON THE BODYRIGHT NOW FOR THE CUSTOMER.

(COURTNEY)>> WOW, WELL WEHOPE YOU'LL BRING IT IN.

(MIKE R.)>> I'D LOVE TO.

(ANNOUNCER)>> POWERNATIONIS BROUGHT TO YOU

BY ROCK AUTO DOT COM.

ALL THE PARTS YOUR CAR WILLEVER NEED ORDERED ONLINE,

DELIVERED TO YOURHOME OR OFFICE.

(RYAN)>> HEY GUYS, WELCOMEBACK TO TRUCK TECH.

NOW HERE AT OUR LOCALTRANSMISSION SHOP, JAMIE OUR

LEAD TECH, IS REBUILDINGOUR FOUR-L-60-E USING

OUR KIT FROM T-C-I.

NOW WE'RE ALSO GOINGTO BE THROWING SOME

NEW PARTS AT THIS THING.

NEW SOLENOIDS, BUSHINGS,BEARINGS, VALVES, SPRAG

CLUTCHES, AND A NEW SPEEDSENSOR, BUT WE'RE ALSO

UPGRADING TO FIVE PINIONFRONT AND REAR PLANETARY

SETS, WHICH IS OBVIOUSLYSTRONGER THAN THE FACTORY

FOUR PINION VERSION.

WE'RE ALSO GOINGWITH A NEW SUN SHELL.

THIS THING'SCALLED THE BEAST.

IF YOU COMPARE IT TOTHE FACTORY PIECE,

YOU CAN SEE WHY.

THERE'S A LOT MORE MATERIALHERE IN THIS HUB AREA, AND

THAT WILL PREVENT THIS FROMHAPPENING WHERE THE HUB GETS

RIPPED RIGHT OUT OF THECENTER OF THE SUN SHELL.

NOW THAT'S A COMMON FAILUREPOINT, ESPECIALLY IN HIGHER

HORSEPOWER APPLICATIONS.

AFTER INSTALLING NEW SEALSON THE LOW AND REVERSE

CLUTCH PISTON, JAMIEINSTALLS IT INTO THE

TRANSMISSION CASE.

IT'S THE FIRST PARTTHAT GETS INSTALLED.

LOOKING UP FROM THE BOTTOMOF THE CASE PROVIDES A

UNIQUE PERSPECTIVE.

HE FOLLOWS THATWITH OUR FIVE PINION

REAR PLANETARY UPGRADE.

THEN INSTALLSCLUTCHES AND STEELS.

NOW THE STEELS GET LOCKEDINTO THE CASE BY THE TAGS,

AND HE ALTERNATES THESTEELS WITH THE FRICTION

DISCS, OR CLUTCHES.

THEN HE JUST KEEPS ONSTACKING PARTS, BUILDING UP

A TRANSMISSION LAYER BYLAYER BY ADDING THINGS LIKE

THE SUN GEAR AND OURUPGRADED SUN SHELL.

AND JUST LIKE WHEN BUILDINGAN ENGINE AND USING ASSEMBLY

LUBE, WELL THE TRANSMISSIONSGET THE SAME TREATMENT.

THIS IS AUTOMATICTRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY LUBE.

AND WHAT IT DOES IS PREVENTMETAL TO METAL CONTACT ON

FIRST START UP BEFORE THEOIL PUMP HAS A CHANCE

TO CIRCULATE FLUID.

THEN INSTALLS THE FRONT FIVEPINION PLANETARY UPGRADE.

AFTER THAT THE OUTPUT SHAFTGETS INSTALLED FROM THE

BOTTOM OF THE CASE UP.

IT JUST TAKES ALITTLE PERSUASION.

NEXT HE LOADS THE INPUTSHAFT AND DRUM ASSEMBLY

WITH MORE NEWCLUTCHES AND STEELS.

BUT BEFORE HE INSTALLSTHE ASSEMBLY HE DOES A

LITTLE PRESSURE CHECK.

AND HE'S USING COMPRESSEDAIR TO DO WHAT FLUID WOULD

NORMALLY DO UNDER NORMALOPERATING CONDITIONS.

AND THAT WE HE CAN VERIFYTHAT THERE'S NO DAMAGED

SEALS OR ANYTHING, AND ALLTHE CIRCUITS ARE WORKING

CORRECTLY BEFOREHE INSTALLS IT.

HE ALSO PERFORMS A VACUUMTEST ON THE VALVE BODY TO

VERIFY THAT INDIVIDUALCIRCUITS IN THE VALVE BODY

ARE WORKING CORRECTLY.

AND AFTER SEALING THE PLATETO THE VALVE BODY, HE SIMPLY

TURNS THE PUMP ON ANDCHECKS TO SEE HOW MUCH

VACUUM IT WILL HOLD.

AT 12 INCHES OF VACUUM, HEJUST WASN'T HAPPY WITH.

SO AFTER A QUICK REPAIRHE DOES A RE-TEST.

THIS TIME SPOT ON.

AND WITH ALL THAT DONE HECAN INSTALL THE NEW WIRING

HARNESS, THE VALVE BODY, THEPAN, AND START BUTTONING

THIS THING UP CAUSE HE'SCOMING DOWN THE HOME STRETCH.

NOW THE GUYS ATCOLEMAN-TAYLOR WERE

GREAT TO WORK WITH.

WE ALL GOT TO SEE WHAT WASINVOLVED IN A TRANSMISSION

OVERHAUL, AND THEY GOT ALITTLE INSIGHT INTO THE

SOMETIMES SLOW AND TEDIOUSWORLD OF T-V PRODUCTION.

AND I'M THINKING JAMIE'SGLAD WE'RE NOT THERE EVERY

DAY TO SLOW DOWNHIS PROGRESS.

(JAMIE)>> THAT'S IT FELLAS.

(ROB)>> IN JUST A FEW HOURSYOU CAN HAVE IT DONE?

(JAMIE)>> WITHOUT YOU IN ACOUPLE HOURS I'D BE DONE!

(RYAN)>> HEY GUYS, WELCOMEBACK TO TRUCK TECH.

NOW WHEN WORKING ON ATOYOTA, MECHANICALLY ANYWAY,

THINGS ARE PRETTYSTRAIGHT FORWARD.

BUT WHEN IT COMES TIME TOTUNING OR PROGRAMMING THE

ENGINE'S COMPUTER, WELL IT'SNOT SO STRAIGHT FORWARD.

ENGINEERS AT BULLY DOGDID WHAT SOME THOUGHT WAS

IMPOSSIBLE, FINALLY TAP INTOTHE TOYOTA FACTORY CODE FOR

BETTER PERFORMANCEAND FUEL ECONOMY.

(KEVIN)>> T-C DIETER'STACOMA V-SIX SPORTS A

T-R-D SUPERCHARGER, AND HELOANED HIS TRUCK FOR

THIS FIRST EVER FIELD TEST.

(TC)>> A LOT OF PEOPLE SEE ATOYOTA TACOMA LIKE THAT, AND

THEY JUST THINK OH, IT'SJUST A LITTLE TOYOTA.

BUT THE SUPERCHARGER PEPSHER UP A LITTLE BIT.

(RYAN)>> AND BULLY DOGENGINEERS WILL PEP IT UP

EVEN MORE BY TUNING HERE ATBULLY DOG DAYS AND LATER AT

THE THEIR FACILITY.

(TC)>> LETS GO BULLY DOG.

(KEVIN)>> BUT JUST WHEREDOES ALL THIS BREAK THROUGH

TECHNOLOGY COME FROM.

(CINDY)>> BULLYDOG, THIS IS CINDY.

(KEVIN)>> WE'RE INSIDE THEIRHEADQUARTERS WHERE AN ARMY

OF ENGINEERS, DEVELOPERS,AND RACERS DESIGN, BUILD,

AND TEST PERFORMANCE TUNERS,TURBOS, COLD AIR KITS,

AND EXHAUST PRODUCTS.

THEY'RE LOCATED IN AMERICANFALLS, IDAHO, FOUNDED BY

THREE BROTHERS WHO'S LOVE OFFARMING GREW INTO A PASSION

FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE.

(MICHAEL)>> THISTRACTOR IS KIND OF

WHERE IT ALL STARTED.

(RYAN)>> BROTHERS MICHAEL,PHIL, AND DARYL KLAUSSEN

LAUNCHED BULLY DOG 16 YEARSAGO OUT OF THIS METAL SHED.

IT WAS A PROPANE INJECTIONSYSTEM THEIR FATHER CAME UP

WITH THAT GOT THEM STARTED.

TODAY HIGH TECH ENGINEERINGIS THE CORE OF THE BUSINESS.

(PHIL)>> IT TAKES US A LOTOF TIME AND A LOT OF EFFORT

TO GET INTO VEHICLES.

AND THE GUYS THAT WEHAVE HERE ARE KEY

TO WHATEVER WE DO.

(MICHAEL)>> THIS IS OURENGINEERING DEPARTMENT.

(RYAN)>> IT TAKES YEARSTO DEVELOP A TUNER.

FACTORY MODULES ARELITERALLY CRACKED OPEN AND

PROBED, MAPPING HUNDREDS OFFACTORY FUNCTIONS FROM AIR

AND FUEL MANAGEMENT TOTRANSMISSIONS CONTROLS

TO EVEN WHEN THEHEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF.

FROM HERE ENGINEERS WRITENEW CODE TO IMPROVE

ON O-E-M PARAMETERS.

(KEVIN)>> THEY ALSO DESIGNHIGH FLOW COLD AIR SYSTEMS.

DOWN IN THE R&D SHOP THEGUYS ARE DEVELOPING ONE

FOR A NEW DODGE RAM.

BULLY DOG USES THREEDIMENSION PRINTERS.

ONE FOR SMALL PARTS ANDONE FOR LARGER PIECES.

AND WHAT WOULD NORMALLY TAKEWEEKS TO HAVE PROTOTYPED NOW

TAKES A MATTER OF HOURS.

(MICHAEL)>> THESEPROTOTYPING MACHINES ARE

BECOMING VERY IMPORTANT FORUS TO LEAD THE WAY, FIRST TO

MARKET SO THE CONSUMER HASSOMETHING RIGHT AWAY WHEN

THEY BUY A NEW VEHICLE.

THAT'S THE FUNNEST TIME TODO IT IS WHILE IT'S STILL

FRESH IN YOUR HANDS.

(KEVIN)>> AND IN THE WORLDOF PERFORMANCE TUNERS, BULLY

DOG IS FIRST TO MARKETAGAIN WITH THEIR G-T

T-PLUS TUNER FOR TOYOTA.

(RYAN)>> ONCE BACK AT BULLYDOG, HORSEPOWER NUMBERS FOR

THIS SUPERCHARGED FOUR-OWENT FROM A 268 BASELINE

TO 294 WITH THE TUNE.

THAT'S A 26 HORSEPOWER GAIN.

(DARYL)>> ONCE WE HAD THATBREAK THROUGH WE HAVE HAD SO

MUCH EXCITEMENT AROUND THEREBETWEEN ENGINEERS AND THE

GUYS TUNING IT, WATCHINGTHE HORSEPOWER GO

UP DAY AND DAY.

I MEAN YOU'RE TALKING ONEHORSEPOWER INCREMENTS AS WE

LEARN ONE MORE, AND THEN WEGET ONE MORE HORSEPOWER, ONE

MORE, THAT'S HOW YOU GETTHERE, BUT IT BUILDS

INTO AN AWESOME PRODUCT.

(TC)>> IT WAS AWESOME,I'M REALLY HAPPY.

(KEVIN)>> SIX PONIES SHY OFTHE 300 MARK, T-C IS GONNA

KEEP ON BUILDINGHORSEPOWER IN HIS TACOMA

ANY WAY HE CAN.

(TC)>> I'M THINKING ABOUTGETTING A LITTLE BIT SMALLER

PULLEY AND I'M PROBABLYGONNA SEND MY TRUCK BACK TO

BULLY DOG FOR SOME CUSTOMTUNING AND MAYBE A LITTLE

SHIFT KIT ACTION, MAYBESOME VALVE BODY UPGRADES,

WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

(ANNOUNCER)>> AFTER THEBREAK IT'S MORE FROM BULLY

DOG'S DOG HOUSE,STICK AROUND!

BACK TO TRUCK TECH.

(RYAN)>> DIESEL AND GASPOWERNED TRUCKS TEAR UP THE

NATIONS FAIRGROUNDS EACHSUMMER, LIKE HERE AT THE

11TH ANNUAL BULLY DOG DAYS.

( )>> HELP HIM ON DOWN THETRUCK LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.

(RYAN)>> IT'S A CHANCE FORTHE COMMUNITY TO CHECK OUT

THE LATEST OFFERINGS ANDSHOW OFF A LITTLE BIT WITH

DYNO SHOOTOUTS, DIRT DRAGS,FREESTYLE MOTO CROSS

EXHIBITIONS, AND SERIOUSDISPLAYS OF RAW PULLING POWER.

CRYSTAL DUNNING HAS NO PROBLEMRUNNING WITH THE BIG BOYS.

(CRYSTAL)>> MY TRUCK IS A2010 DODGE CUMMINS 2500 THAT

I'VE NAMED PERFECTLY FLAWED.

JUST BECAUSE EVERYONE SAYSPERFECTION DOESN'T EXIST,

AND EVERYONE HAS FLAWS, BUTHEY, I GUESS I'M PERFECT

CAUSE I'VE GOT FLAWS.

AND NOBODY LIKE THESIX-SEVENS TOO MUCH,

THEY HAVE THEIR FLAWS,BUT IT'S PERFECT.

(RYAN)>> CRYSTAL TOOK SECONDPLACE IN WORK STOCK DIESEL,

WHICH IS FINE FOR HER.

(CRYSTAL)>> PRETTYPROUD OF IT.

(KEVIN)>> BUT BACK AT BULLYDOG ONE WORD BEST DESCRIBES

THEIR CORPORATE PHILOSOPHY.

(PHIL)>> WIN!

(MICHAEL)>> WIN!

(DARYL)>> I WOULD SAYWINNING IS PRETTY MUCH

IN BUSINESS EVERYTHING.

(KEVIN)>> FROM THEDEVELOPMENT OF NEW PRODUCTS,

THROUGH PRODUCTION, AND ONTO SHIPPING, BEING FIRST TO

MARKET IS NUMBER ONE.

AND WINNING AT THE TRACKIS IMPORTANT TOO, WHERE

ENGINEER JARID VOLLMER SET ANEW WORLD RECORD LAST YEAR

AT THE DIESEL NATIONALS.

(JARID)>> OH IT'SEXHILARATING!

WE GO OUT THERE ON THE NORMALSTREETS AND YOU DO 120.

I DON'T WANT TOSAY THAT, MY BAD!

(RYAN)>> WHAT THEY LEARNAT THE TRACK TRANSLATES TO

STREET PERFORMANCE TUNES ANDOFF ROAD TUNES THANKS TO

THEIR NEW POWER SPORTSDIVISION WITH TUNERS FOR

SNOW MACHINES AND MORE.

AND WHAT THE KLAUSSENBROTHERS LEARNED ON THE FARM

THEY'VE ALSO APPLIED TO THEHEAVY DUTY TRUCK MARKET,

OFFERING UP PROVEN FUELSAVING BIG RIG TURNERS,

TURBOS, AND CERAMIC COATEDMANIFOLDS THAT WON'T CRACK.

AND FOR THE OWNER-OPERATOROR FLEET OWNER, THAT MEANS

LESS DOWN TIME BECAUSE IT'SA PIECE THAT DOESN'T FAIL.

PLUS TWO-TENTHS OF A MILEPER GALLON IN FUEL SAVINGS.

(KEVIN)>> THE COMPANY ISALSO THE INDUSTRY LEADER BY

BEING CARB COMPLIANT,MAKING HUGE INVESTMENTS IN

EMISSIONS EQUIPMENTLIKE THIS $200,000

DOLLAR SEMTECH TESTER.

( )>> WELL IF YOU WANT TOTUNE IT RIGHT NOW AND THEN

RETURN IT TO STOCK LATER.

( )>> YES, SELECT RUN.

(KEVIN)>> AND THEY'VE ALSOINVESTED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE

WITH A TECHNICALSUPPORT STAFF READY WITH

FREE DOWNLOAD UPDATES.

(ALEX)>> OUR TUNERS AREPRETTY USER FRIENDLY.

WE DO OCCASIONALLY GET THECALLS OF SOMEONE THAT CAN'T

UPDATE THEIR COMPUTER.

SO WE TAKE THEM ONTO OUR GOTO ASSIST PROGRAM AND THAT

GOES THROUGH OUR WEBSITE.

THEY CAN PUT IN THEIR NAMEAND COMPANY EMAIL, AND THEN

WE TIE INTO THEIR COMPUTERAND WE CAN SHOW THEM WHAT

WE'RE DOING SO THAT THE NEXTTIME THEY'LL BE ABLE TO SEE.

A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE VISUAL,SO THEY GET TO UNDERSTAND

WHAT WE'RE DOING ANDHOW WE'RE DOING IT.

(MICHAEL)>> ALL THE THINGSTHAT WE HAVE LEARNED IN

FARMING, WE HAVE TRIED TOBRING INTO OUR BUSINESS.

WE MAKE SURE THAT THEPRODUCT IS RIGHT, AND THEN

GOES OUT TO THE CUSTOMER.

AND THEN OTHERPEOPLE CAN ENJOY THE

FRUITS OF OUR LABOR.
