I think you guys are forgetting the fact that the final battle is meant strictly for entertainment purposes, and in order to demonstrate each warrior's arsenal in combat.
***This is not the actual simulation****.
The simulation looks to be something of a spread sheet program, similar to excel. The re-enactment is merely meant to show you a highly dramatized version of what really would have happened. It is not there to be historically accurate.
In reality, the battle likely would have ended quickly with either the ninja using a blow dart from a tree or the spartan simply spearing the crap out of the ninja. Not very interesting to watch is it?
I'm willing to agree that the ninja could easily take-down an unprepared opponent from the shadows, but one-on-one against a fully-armed, fully-trained warrior such as a Spartan, and the ninja is toast.0 replies Reply Flag comment as inappropriate

Man, The Ninja Would Never Fight A Spartan During The Day, They Kill At Night, Thats What The Black Cloak Is For, But Even So, Why Did He Start The 1st Attack With A Loud Noise, Ninjas Are Silent, Cat Like Warriors. This show is rly wrong. the program they use is made to simulate MODERN ARMY vs ARMY combat and such simulation dont rly need in depth fight data . First of all Spartan never fight alone they was train in fight in grps ALWAYS . second ninja's almost never look like NINJAS
all this what u see in movies the black suits etc is not truth most of time ninjas try to look like no danger at all they were assassyns not open field warriors . IF u want make this accurate make ninja looks like peasant who work on his land spartan pass by and wtf dart in neck from behind = spartan die . Ninjas was made to fight SAMURAIS the posible best toe to toe fighters ever also samurais armor was much stronger than BRONZE spartan armor , samurai armor was made to deflect KATANAS best sword of all time able to cut KNIGHT in full plate in HALF check some google info aboute katanas ( real masterwork katana is able to cut BULLET in half there was some tests on discovery chanel without get any breake on its blade bulle was shooted from gun of course ) so ninjas need to develop tactics to deal with such weapons,ad the best tactic or weapon is to dont be whre enemy think u will be . Also the whole black egg is stupid there is no way that any human can recover from glass dust in ayes is simply against basic medical knowledge. also shurikens was almost never used to actually kill or make major damage they was part of dodge strategy of ninja : trow stars enemy try to dodge /block and whn he did that u find position to make killing blow with any of your real weapons , same with eggs . The Spartans killed 100 to 200 thousand Persians at Thermopylae? Pardon my French, but what a gigantic pile of horse shit. First off, the entire Persian expeditionary force did not exceed 250 thousand men. Estimates are that about 80 thousand out of that force were fighting at Thermopylae. Not to mention the fact that 7 thousand other Greeks were fighting along side those fabled 300 Spartans. The Spartan "expert" needs to get his head examined...

This is the first Deadliest Warrior show I ever saw. I was watching Warriors on the history channel, and it was about Spartans. I asked my dad what would happen if a Spartan fought a Samurai. My dad said, "Not a samurai, but I did find a show about a Spartan and a ninja." The fight scene isn't that great, but I couldn't decide who I wanted to win! I love both warriors! This is the perfect match-up for me!

Dear Critics, you all say that this is inaccurate and it should have been done by experts yet, you yourselves are not experts so in reality you have no standing to say that. i agree with some of you in the fact that this is inaccurate but in a different sense, ninjas are not warriors, they are assassins so of course they will not stand up in a fight against a spartan, I'm not saying that the results are wrong, just that the pairing was wrong. Spartans were trained from a young age to fight toe-to-toe with their enemy, ninja's we're trained to kill without being seen, not stand and fight, so of course Spartans will when. i have no doubts in my mind that this will stimulate some heated remarks but it makes no differance to me, just remember this is a show, many people such as myself enjoy it, and if you don't enjoy it then don't watch it just so you can bad mouth it.

Spartan walks through an open field of grass unaware that a ninja is hiding.
The ninja moves silently around to where an exposed arm, neck, etc is in sight.
Ninja at a distance uses blowgun.
Spartan feels a sting with only time enough to glance at the dart sticking out of his arm.
Spartan falls dead from poison.
That is how a ninja would accurately fight such an opponent using stealth and win.

FIRST OF ALL, the ninja to my studies use the technique called "Shadow", which is to manipulate his/her opponent actions and reactions or to conceal themselves in the darkness until an opening is achieved. the spartan is a mass, brute force that only creates havoc and destruction wherever he swings a weapon. The only reason the spartan won was because of false data. Even from watching movies and viewing pictures from Roman War scripture, only Spartans in contests of death were able to wear such thick plated armor. so if you wanted to make this episode real accurate, the ninja would have succeed with two weapons, the Black Egg and Ninja-to.

Well, i think the Ninja was forced to fight the Spartan's fight in this one. I know that the computer can only run battles based on the weapons tests, which I'm sure is why the Spartan won. From what I could see, the Ninja lost simply because his weapons were not nearly as hard-hitting. I'm glad to read that the computer will be more advanced next season, because if it could take into account things like the warrior's individual strategies, or their MINDSETS in approaching a battle, things could have gone very differently. For one thing, a Ninja might have done something like sneak into a Spartan's base and poison his drink, so that he'd (coincidentally) die before the fight ever started. Naturally, that'd be dissappointing, of course. But my point is that the Ninja was unable to utilize his unique warfare mindset, which was often proved just as if not more deadly than anything else. Ninja were far more cerebral than the Spartans. In this fight he was made to fight head on, out in the open, which they trained their whole lives to not do. I knew this was too one dimensional for the NInja to have much chance, when they didn't test all the possible uses of the Kusarigama. Their way of testing was seeing how hard the weight hit, and the blade against the Spartan chest plate (the Ninja weren't retarded). What about stopping the Spartan's weapon hand with the chain, and choking him with the rest, or slicing his unarmored areas, like the carotid artery or achilles tendon? My

First of all, this show is amazing and i cant wait for a second season. Second, i cant stress enough how cool the spartans are and you will NEVER hear me say a bad word about them, they were awesome. However, this match up should be redone. My only issues were as follows: The black eggs are not taken into account because they set up the ninja for a kill. The same issue comes up again with shaka zulu and the spit of poison. IF, the black eggs were to hit the blindness will just about promise a kill for the ninja. Second, i understand that stealth, night time fighting, and ambushes cant be factored in, this is supposed to be a battle where both opponents square off, face to face, and i get that.
So, maybe drop the black eggs if their not going to be calculated in correctly, and switch it for ninja armor (they did actually wear solid steel plates under their gear when going into battle, trust me i've done the research) or a tanto (dagger) or wakazashi (short sword) or something. It was a great fight, but the ninja would have won.

FIRSTLY: the numbers indicate direct kills the egg is not a killing weapon but rather left the crippled so a different weapon could do the dirty work. This is why it has zero.
NEXT: if u look at the final fight the egg burst on the side of the Spartan's giving him time to close his eyes. go check if u like.
THREE: Spartans had armor good enough to block the shrunken even without the shield so that is why it had zero kills
FOUR: Spartan's training was to fight and kill the enemy even if the enemy has already struck a fatal blow to him. He was taught to ignore pain and use all his senses and instincts to know where mulitiple enemies were at all times
Five: I do agree that the ninjas skills were off but i also believe they brought in the wrong tools to do the job of fighting a heavily armed and armored foe like the Sparta
Given the information from their so called "experts" the spartan had the upper hand. Also we saw only ONE out of the 653 scenarios that the ninja lost (thanks to his horrible "experts" incomplete explanation of the Ninjas skills). I am not trying to criticize either warrior these two warriors are teh best known of all time that is why they are paired. A spartan also always had a buddy with him never was he alone. the ninja after he would have killed the first guy with his Blowgun wouldn't be able to do it again to the second guy which would then make the results accurate.

Spartans are apparently so tough that glass in the eyes causes no adverse affect. The show should start with a disclaimer stating that "skills are not taken into account in the making of this show". Its all about who's weapon causes more damage, not who is more skilled. A powerful weapon only works if you can hit your target.

The Spartans weren't really effective in 1 on 1 combat. They always relied on their fellow Spartans to help them. The Ninja, however is uesd to fighting alone. The simulation was fuckin' bullshit. Did they even bother to test the Ninja's Black Eggs combined with their other weapons? HELL NO!

So much BS in this show. I hope the creator of this show would go more detail into warrior's skill, agility, stealth, technique, and so on: the factors that actually decides the outcome of battle not just the weaponries, because thats what they only put in account for.
The two opposing sides are constantly arguing over each other, boasting over who's warrior is better when all they are doing is showing off their arsenal. And then there are the testers who has no idea what they are doing and relying on the sensor dummies to lay out data.

WTF?! I just signed up but Iv'e been watching DEadliest Warriors since day 1! I always wanted to say that this episode is all messed up! Ninjas dont just jump out of trees! They stay in the tree and use a poison dart or a barrage of shuriken! Plus I highly doubt that a ninja would put his weapon above his head and go with an overhead blow. He would get behind the spartan and stab his damned throat then take his helmet off and mess up his face! You guys suck!

Okay Max get ready for this comment. Okay I may be young, but I'm not ignorant! Do you know how a ninja fights? Or are you to far up the "Realm of Science's" ass to figure out that Ninjas don't fight the way depicted on the show? I have studied Ninjas from age 8, I think I would know a thing or two. One, when Ninjas are about to strike they do not scream at the top of their lungs. Two, when do Ninjas ever come out of their hiding spot unless they're sure they won't be seen? Three, why the hell would a Ninja crawl up a wall, do a flip, and come down to strike an opponent? And you also said that the setting makes a balance. Bull crap! Ninjas fought at night, and Spartans fought whenever. So to make it fair it shoud've taken place in a forest in the evening hours. Not in an open field at noon! This was such a disapointing episode. Now Max I have nothing against you. But I am mad at the way you ran the simulations. So in all fairness, I think it would've turned out with the Ninja seriously injured, but the Spartan dead. Why was it said in the show that Ninja wear no armor? Ninja wore armor similar to that of the Samurai. The Ninja wasn't as heavily armored as the Samurai, but it has been suggested that Ninja did wear light armor that wouldn't make much noise when moving. Armor such as ring mail or lamellar were worn under the robes of the Ninja. I doubt that would change the final outcome, but at least the Ninja wouldn't have lost as bad as it did in this episode. The warriors on this show should be represented with their greatest capabilities.

I'm sorry.... This just was a failed episode even with the good facts on the weapons and the tests... but the simulation was way off. The ninja doesn't make a noise when they attack, for they are stealth based and are required to be silent and devious. The black egg that landed a direct hit on the Spartan should've kept the Spartan blind therefor the ninja wouldn't have ran away and landed the killing blow to the Spartan, but that didn't happen.... Nooo, what happened was that he ran away and hid somewhere. I didn't like how the episode ended and it just proves that all simulations are not correct in anyway.

Shouldn't they try a Spartan versus a Knight, the two armored tanks going up against each other?
