Haven't bought Blazblue yet but I expect it to be great since I'm getting a PS3 this xmas. SF perhaps has the best balance, Blazblue is a lot more accessible than SFIV if you can believe that because of the generous timing it has. That's at least from what I could tell playing it in the arcade. Tekken 6 is great but I'm more of a VF fan so I never saw the appeal but it is a good game. If you talk about how SFIV is the same stuff and all it is more of the same stuff, you haven't played it. 3rd strike is considered the best of the SF series but it was the 3RD version of the game, which finally balanced nicely and some of the most beloved and best toons didn't even get introduced till the 3rd version like chun-li and Makoto. So comparing SFIV to 3rd strike isn't really fair. Also 3S is more of a defensive game and SFIV is more offensive but I digress. I could be happy with either Blazblue or SF IV winning though in my heart I want SFIV to win..

BlazBlue has it all, great gameplay mechanics, great story, great music, tons of personality in everything. BlazBlue is the real winner here. But SFIV has such a large fan base here in America, its not surprise that it won. But it's funny to see how many SFIV players try BB out, fall in love with it, then stick with it instead. That's saying something.

I'm highly disappointed in the line up of fighters. I can understand its popularity thing but far more fighters has been release in the year of 2009 but the people running this award ceremony only seems to cater to the main stream and even if that is the case then where KOFXII? not here. and SNK is a main stream company with scene that rivals Capcoms. Wheres Guilty Gear ACCENT CORE+? it may be a rehash game but its game still release in this year and what of SC series broken destiny that's pretty much a rehash of SC4 with few difference and different system port. What about the games such as Dragon Ball Raging blast? Tekken that hasn't even been release longer than Dragon ball raging blast and yet it still gets place in the ceremony. Also what about the Naruto vs series like Ultimate ninja or clash of ninja.
These Games are no where mention and serves as valid candidates of VS fighters. till spike tv explain it self I'm holding their poll and nominees in contempt in strong bias that's full of negative intention and irresponsible handling.
Before I'm written off as a fan boy. I will admit that the SF4 is really strong candidate and proves to most likely win the award. But this ceremony serves as an event of bringing together a plethora of games in a fashion of appreciation and comparison of other games, with vs fighters being an obscure genre that show's minimal entry is uneasy to me. Especially In a event that claims to pare the best of the best, but chooses to exclude some with no mentioning is view as irresponsible to me. If this how they plan to handle this ceremony than it needs to be a contest of popularity because they apply heavy influence on verdicts that base on the majority with out thoroughly laying out its reasons.

TEKKEN 6 SHOULD GET IT, BUT IT'LL PROBABLY BE SF4. ONLY CAUSE IT STARTED IT ALL, BUT TEKKEN IS BETTER THAN ALL THESE GAMES. ONLY THING COMES CLOSE IS SOCAL 4. THE STREET FIGHTER GAMES ARE MORE SIMPLE THAN TEKKEN. TEKKEN CHARACTERS HAVE BIG MOVE LISTS WHICH MAKES IT MORE COMPLEX THAN THE OTHER 2D GAMES. THEY'RE SIMPLE.

Come on people, Street Fighter is one of the first 2D fighters that has given us joy from minute one. All the games are great, but street fighter has far more experience when it comes in gameplay and also the combos are not that easy. In the end, Street Fighter 4 is my choice. Can't wait for Super Street Fighter 4

The true winner is definitely Blazblue. But it's obviously not going to win, because there are just too many ignorant people who are just too hyped up about SFIV and Tekken 6 to carefully weigh what each game has newly brought to the table of fighting games. In that case, it would be Blazblue, because it totally brought back and reinvented the 2D fighting game, along with amazing visuals and mechanics.

You SFIV guys are brain dead I swear. Or in denial. By all accounts of people who are used to playing Tekken series. The bottom tier and the top tier are not far from each other. I play SFIV the game is decently balanced but there is better chance of winning a tourney with Raven which is rated as one of the worst in tekken than with Vega. And you don't know shit about the tiers at Nor cal. Bob is ranked as maybe the 7~10 best player in the game. Aeris played Dragonuv. Ranked Mid tier. OF COURSE there are gonna be ppl who play the top characters. But guess what? Law and Lili lost. Tekken is chess. You have Frames. Side step game wall. game Throw mixups Reversals. REVERSAL REVERSALS., tech traps, Reset juggles. You have to know a shit load of moves and setups from every of the 40 CHARACTERS in the game. Spacing is even more important in tekken 6. Because you can wiff punish which hurts alot more than in SFIV. SFIV is fun but the reason why it attracts more people because its easier to pick up. Every character has maybe 6 moves that they spam. I've been playing since SF !! came out when I was a kid. I am 30 now. I am telling you...... SF relies on precision and speed. Tekken is mostly strategy. SF is the boxing equivalent of a slugger. And tekken 6 is the equivalent of a boxer.
Lastly all of you shut up about the scenario mode. ITS EXTRA YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAY IT. IT WAS JUST ADDED FOR FUN. What does SF IV add in its game other than fighting? Namco always adds extra stuff so you get more outta the game.3 replies Reply Flag comment as inappropriate

How can you say Tekken is more balanced then SFIV. There are pro Vega and Fuerte players and Sim out of all the characters actually won a nationals against god tier Sagat. Tekken is a juggle fest where SFIV prevents people from abusing infinite combos. SF has much more mind game strats as well as spacing, its a total chess match versus imma juggle you forever and half you health is gone. Nor cal regionals was filled with a total of 3 to 4 of the top tier tekken cast were as SFIV is has one of the most diverse casts in any fighting game and most everyone in the cast can win yes even Sakura played by Sabre beat Valle so my vote is for SFIV all day long.

BlazBlue is slow as shit. You might as well have had KoF 12 up there 9Which pains me to compare that series to that game) When Blazblue XX:Twilight Bonanza (You know those GG guys. crazy ass names) comes out then come back up as a contender.

ha, street fighter, is this even a question? seriously these are sort of good contenders when you play them but street fighter doesnt get old. you have to train to get good! it is like the rocky of video games. i knew the others were going to get picked on because sf4 is extremely popular and good so they should take out street fighter and put it were it belongs. goty. GAME OF THE YEAR. it really deserves that more than batman. and replacing street fighter would be marvel vs capcom 2 which is only a download game but is still cool being a cactus and beating up omega red if you have heard of this.

blazblue is the overall best fighting game, with the best online, best fighting system, unique characters and moves, and overall most fun, but street fighter 4 will win because either no one can think outside of the box or because there are way too many fanboys who dont play any of the other fighters but sf4

Chris... i've been a fun my both games, and i have to say street fighter is a more fun game it may not look as good as Tekken game gameplay wise street has the edge. And tekken get boring fast street way more fun online is great the combos great all in all street fighter walks away as the best fighting game again.

I vote for Street Fighter IV , the number one fighting game. Thanks to Capcom made this game cool & creative, A lot of ass-kicking, a lot of punches, Focus Attacks & Super & Ultra Combos & New Characters and I love the Anime Cutscenes. I sure wanna play that game, And I can't for Super Street Fighter IV to come out this spring. So, I'm thinking what's next in the future of Street Fighter, Was it like a Hyper Street Fighter IV, Ultimate, or maybe Street Fighter V, who knows, And when it comes to playing the game, The King of Fighters they wouldn't stand a chance of beating Street Fighter IV, there a lot stronger, powerful & super creative, kinda like going 3-D much like the King of Fighters: Maximum Impact 1 & 2. I'm sure SNK Characters will get more stronger & powerful like the Capcom Characters will rival up in the future of fighting games. Please let it be Street Fighter IV that I voted!
