A new clip has surfaced that gives us a brief glimpse of Harvey Dent as Two Face in The Dark Knight. We don’t get to see much of him, just enough to intrigue us into going to the movie. Or, if you’re like me and you’re already more intrigued than you can really handle, then it’s just another little Batman fix to keep you alive until July 18, 2008. WARNING: SPOILER AHEAD.
Is it possible some kind of Dark Knight vs. White Knight dichotomy is at the heart of the new Batman film? Batman vs. Harvey Dent? We all know how Dent winds up; is director Christopher Nolan presenting us with the cynical notion that all who attempt to redeem Gotham through the straight and narrow path of righteousness wind up sullied and corrupted?
It’s this blogger’s opinion that the clip of Dent is, like Tony Stark’s cameo in The Incredible Hulk, tagged onto the very end of the film, a quick teaser to entice us for the third Batman installment. If this is the case, am I way more excited about this newer, grislier incarnation of Two Face than I was about Tommy Lee Jones’s? I don’t need to flip a coin to come up with an answer to that one.
