Guitar Hero continues to be one of the most social video games on the scene, and now Guitar Hero 5 is here to make sure you don’t miss a beat. The new edition allows players to put together and change their band members, instruments, and everything else effortlessly at their whim. Sometimes you and your friends just need to get together and rock the hell out – and that’s where Guitar Hero 5 will come in handy. Fans of previous editions of the game will love this one even more. It’s available for the PS3, the X-Box 360, the Wii, and the PS2, so you’ll be able to get your kicks in no matter what console you prefer.

Are you a fan of Halo, but need new planets and worlds to liberate and new bad guys to annihilate? If so, Section 8 might be the game for you. It takes an interstellar infantry unit and puts them on earth’s frontier colonies, where you’ll butt heads with some real nasty bad guys that badly need to be destroyed. This one’s available for both the PC and the X-Box 360, so whether you’re a desktop gamer or a console guy you’ll be able to get your kills in.

State of Play, the new Russell Crowe political thriller (also starring Rachel McAdams and Ben Affleck), will keep you on the edge of your seat and remind you why journalism isn’t a thing of the past. The DVD is out and it’s got plenty of extra features for those movie buffs who just have to see how it all came together. A behind-the-scenes featurette, The Making of State of Play, along with deleted scenes are some of the extras on this release. If you’re a Crowe fan you’re going to want to have this one in your collection.

The outstanding independent feature debut by writer director Cary Fukunaga, Sin Nombre, is finally here on DVD for everyone who either wasn’t able to see it in theaters, or never had it released where they live. The movie follows the travels of a couple of immigrants trying to escape the violence and poverty in Central America, and the problems that follow them. The DVD includes deleted scenes as well as feature commentary from the director and producer Amy Kaufman. This is a great new work by a new director that has gained lots of positive buzz, so pick up a copy today.

Juliette Lewis’ new full-length LP, Terra Incognita, was produced by The Mars Volta’s Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and sees the wild starlet transition from punk hooks to wild garage guitar rock all in one record. She even sprinkles some pop in the in mix. "I wanted to make a record that has full flavor and spectrum. Not the same song 11 times," says Lewis. "Terra Incognita means unknown territory and I wanted - needed - to go there. Not everybody wants to. But I got no one to answer to, so why not feed the muse?" Get it!

The Entrance Band, one of the best bands Los Angeles has to offer has finally nailed down an official full-length self-titled debut that is set to blow away critics and all music listeners. Thank goodness! Filled with Hendrix-like guitar grooves and some of the most amazing bass chops you have ever heard, The Entrance Band has the rock ‘n’ roll fans of the genre have been waiting for. “Grim Reaper Blues (pt. 2)” is looking like it will be an instant classic with its addictive composition and undeniable power. Do not sleep on The Entrance Band!

Did we miss anything? What are you looking forward to picking up this week?
