Music

Deehunter - Microcastle This may not be your bag, but this record is on track to be one of the best-reviewed albums of the year. Microcastle is the follow-up to Deerhunter’s 2006's Cryptograms and was recorded over the course of a week at Rare Book Studios in Brooklyn with Nicolas Verhes. It was recorded as a four-piece consisting of Bradford Cox (Atlas Sound), Lockett Pundt, Joshua Fauver and Moses Archuleta. The new album features the band evolving out of their ambient haze sounds to construct delicate, imaginative pop songs mixed with indie rock and garage-punk. Check out “Nothing Ever Happened” if you want a little taste of the Atlanta quartet…
Games

Fallout 3 This post-apocalyptic RPG-turned shooter has been around for years, and fanboys across this pre-apacalyptic world are creaming in their underoos to get their hands on the newest copy. You can watch the evolution of the series here, or stop living in the past and watch the real game footage here.
Little Big Planet Emerging from recent scandal, Little Big Planet released this week. In this game you control a character with special abilities, and wander around the Little Big Planet “playing, creating, and sharing” what you build therein with other players. It looks to be a little like a Sim game on acid.
