I had a chance to get a sneak peek last night of Iron Man and I have to say I was blown away. Arguably the best comic book film ever made (I say this not having seen Nolan’s Dark Knight which comes out later this summer). Iron Man delivers on so many levels - great action, amazing acting from Robert Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges (who is so underrated) combined with a strong comic book origin story. What more can you want out of a summer blockbuster? I also have to mention that Gwyneth Paltrow was looking adorably sexy.
The film is projected to gross over a $100 million its opening weekend! To put this in perspective, Spider-man 3 holds the all time record for opening weekend gross with $151 million. If it wasn’t for Indiana Jones and the children friendly Speed Racer, Iron Man would have had a shot at the biggest summer movie this year.
Finally, I won’t ruin the ending but make sure to stay in the theater all the way through the end credits for a nice surprise.
