Rush(!) Rocks Colbert

Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart of Rush played their synthesizer classic "Tom Sawyer" on the Comedy Central show "The Colbert Report" last evening, which was the band's first U.S. television in more than three decades. Sweet.

Stephen paid homage to the band by giving over about 1/3 of the show to the progressive three-piece. During the pre-performance Q&A, Stephen asked one of the better interview questions of all time: "You're known for some long songs. Have you ever written a song so epic, that you were being influenced by your own song, because it happened so much earlier in your career?" Comedy gold.

As for the band’s performance, the Canadian boys pretty much killed it. Geddy Lee’s voice is still pretty annoying, but their musicianship is always freakin’ top notch. Oh, and Neil Peart is still of the best drummers alive...
