Monster Blog: Slamiversary

Hello, everyone again.....it's your favorite Monster Abyss coming to you this week from my yard time out in general population. They let me sit outside today and write to you on my blog. It's my favorite time of the week because I get to share all my thoughts with you.  It's also my favorite time of the year because Slamiversary is upon us. It's TNA Wrestling's seven year anniversary!  I cannot believe it's been seven years.

I have been with TNA since its inception and to see the growth of the greatest wrestling company ever is, in one word, awesome!  I have decided to make my blog about the anniversary and key events which I think have shaped TNA and assisted TNA in becoming the greatest wrestling company ever.  It's been an exhilarating and fun time being one of the TNA originals and it's something that I take GREAT pride in.

I look back and remember the Asylum in Nashville, the birthplace of TNA Wrestling.  It was also the birthplace of Abyss.  Do you remember how I was discovered in the Asylum???  I was living under the stairwell in a remote part of the Asylum. Kid Kash orchestrated my arrival and discovery by bringing me cookies and milk and leaving them for me under the stairs. I had never had anyone give me attention like that, which is why I decided to be Kid Kash's friend at the time. Little did I know what a bad person and small-minded man I had teamed up with.  I soon realized he was not good for me and I decided to rid myself of him on a live pay-per-view event.  That was exciting.  That was when I was a free man and not caught up in all these psychiatric problems.

The Asylum holds many great memories for me. So many, in fact, that it is hard to remember them all.  But there are a few that stand out in my head.  First, was my very first time ever wrestling in TNA and in the Asylum. I was wrestling against Julio Dinero with Alexis Laree as his manager. Alexis would go on to become Mickey James. I can remember the feeling I had when I was walking to the ring. I was nervous but so excited to have finally arrived in TNA Wrestling.  I remember the fans being wild and taking an immediate liking to me. It was a fun night.

I remember the time that Sting made his debut in TNA Wrestling at the Asylum.  I had met the icon while we were filming his autobiographical movie and gotten to know him. We instantly got along and that was a huge honor for me. To see the icon Sting in TNA was just one thing that made me realize that TNA Wrestling had arrived and that we were going to grow this company ALL together into what it is today and will be tomorrow.

Abyss is one of my favorite personas and also I love that your character has not changed much over the years. You are basically the same persona. Your persona was one reason that TNA drew me in and held my attention. My little girl who is 4 years old has a huge crush on Abyss. I love that you work so hard to be the best and all of the talent work so incrediblly hard to deliver a whole different style of wrestling and not the norm. We all for a while have gotten used to the McMahon show and lost the wrestling. I love the fact that all of the powers that be have decided to go the other direction and focus on the wrestling. All I can say is Thank You so much for giving back real wrestling to the fans. I have worked for Ohio Valley Wrestling and most of the performers in OVW perfer TNA over the other company. That should tell you something. I hope it does.

Hey Abbys ever since i can remember i use to watch wwf/wwe with my gran and i think was about prob 6 or 7 year ago i saw tna for the first time and if i remember correctly u had that manager who wore the red jacket and that and i just loved how ur fighting style is but i kept watching wwf/wwe at the time also along with TNA about a year or somthing after my first tna show my gran had passed away and i kind of backed away from wrestling for a little while since wwf had turned to wwe and that was going downhill with the excitment. but i kept watching tna until it moved from the wrestling channel to bravo (i stay in scotland) and i still hold your match with sabu and the barred whie pluss the ladder match against jeff hardy when you threw him through the tables as one of my favourite matches of all time id like to thank you for the excitment yes i understand one on one ur a monster but when weapons are involved it amazes me to see what u will do.

Thank you i hope you keep with tna

    Jamie
