LaBeouf and Grisham to be Associated

Shia LaBeouf is going to dust off his legal expertise and play the leading man in a new John Grisham project, based off his book generically titled, "The Associate." Paramount will be taking this project on along with Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura; both he and LaBeouf both read the novel while working on the new Transformers movie. Does anyone think LaBeouf can pull off a Yale law school grad?

I don't think the problem will be with LaBeouf having the chops to play a Yale law student or lawyer getting manhandled by an evil law firm. I think the problem will be making this idea distinct from The Firm, or any other number of legal dramas/thrillers that more or less came straight out of this mold.

On a different note, LaBeouf is certainly Paramount's boy these days, having made both Transformers movies, Disturbia, Eagle Eye and the most recent Indiana Jones movie with them. Does LaBeouf have any indie bones in his body? Will he shoot any low-budg festival flicks in the near future? Maybe once the blockbusters stop coming his way, which probably won't happen any time soon.
