Joaquin Phoenix Solidifies His Spot as King of Douchebags

The actor Joaquin Phoenix gave an interview to E! and announced his retirement from acting. If this was a sincere, heartfelt announcement it would mark a sad end to a distinguished career. However, when the E! reporter expressed surprise and disbelief, rather than explain further Phoenix huffily stomped off like the diva douchebag he's revealed himself to truly be. Watch the video after the jump.

After sullenly shuffling away from the interviewer Phoenix passes the buck to Casey Affleck, who clearly appears uncomfortable with having to lie for his friend. I don't believe for five seconds Phoenix would quit acting to pursue music fulltime. Since when would pursuing both cut into his much needed Joaquin Time? I'm sure he could lavish himself with vacations and expensive cars just as easily without retiring.

They say there's no such thing as bad publicity. I think Joaquin proved that point today.
