Everybody knows that New York is one of the hardest places to make it. In fact, some people say that if you can make it there, you can avoid contracting hepatitis in a subway car anywhere. But, just how difficult is Big Apple living? Even restaurant employees wake up in fear everyday…
At a popular restaurant in the Meatpacking District, the owner of the establishment sent a 6:00 a.m. email to his entire staff politely claiming that “I don’t have any respect for you” and that he was not going to tolerate their horrible behavior which consists of "not collecting enough email addresses from customers."
Yep, that’s it. This restaurateur threatened to fire every one of his employees in a profanity-laced email (ironic, much?) for not digitally stalking anyone who wanted to eat their dinner in peace. Because if there’s one thing everybody wants when they pay $42 for a pizza, it’s the waiter asking them to sign up for a digital newsletter that will clog their inboxes every time Paradou Pizza has a calzone special.
The owner lays out a very strict set of guidelines where servers and hosts who don’t collect enough addresses will be fined massive parts of their paychecks for failing to produce 50 new e-mails per week and that if they aren’t happy with the situation they can “get the f*** out!”
And they say being a waiter is a job so easy any aspiring actresses can do it!
