When you brew beer, you get a lot of excess yeast from the fermentation. Just heaps and heaps of leftover yeast. But science recently invented the EFuel 100 MicroFueler, which can take water, sugar, and all that leftover yeast and make ethanol. That’s what racecars run on. It’s also, now, what the Sierra Nevada microbrewery’s fleet of vehicles runs on.
If the process can be streamlined and turns out to be an efficient one, Sierra Nevada has said they’ll fuel their employees cars next and (potentially) open it up for distribution to the public. So keep drinking Sierra Nevada (twist my arm why don’t you).
