George W. Bush's Top 10 Dumbest Moments

George W. Bush’s adventures in the White House are soon coming to an end. The “decider” will soon pack up his cowboy boots and head back home to Texas. He leaves office with a litany of problems, including two unfinished wars and a country in the midst of a catastrophic economic crisis.  He may be a deeply unpopular president, but he was always good for a laugh. Love him or hate him, George W. Bush was hugely entertaining.

10. Food on Americans

Food on Your Family

As a presidential candidate, George W. Bush was prone to gaffes. In Nashua, New Hampshire on January 27th, 2000 he spoke at a campaign rally and said "You're working hard to put food on your family." I wonder what family dinners are like at the Bush house. Does everyone line up and wait for Barbara or Laura to start smothering everyone with food? Even with an error like this, he still managed to get “elected.”

9. Bush Massages German Chancellor

Bush Massages German Chancellor

In 2006, George W. Bush attended a G8 summit meeting in Germany along with other world leaders. In the middle of the meeting he decided that Germany’s Chancellor, Angela Merkel, needed a back rub. He sauntered over to the German leader and started massaging her shoulders and neck. Merkel immediately hunched her shoulders, threw her arms up in the air and looked terribly uncomfortable. Bush strolled away and bloggers screamed sexual harassment.

8. Bush Attacked by Camera

Bush's Surprise

President Bush was in the middle of a press conference “sharing his thoughts on what he was thinking about” when a camera came unstuck and started swinging in front of Bush’s face. Bush looked at it totally confused. The moment perfectly captured how the Commander in Chief handles an unexpected situation.

7. Bush Swears

Bush Swears!

At the same G8 summit where he man-handled German Chancellor Angelina Merkel, Bush faced a barrage of criticism for uttering a swear word in a private conversation with British Prime Minister, Tony Blair. Bush was unaware he was being recorded when he explained his plan for peace in the Middle East. He told Blair “What they need to do is get Syria to get Hizbollah to stop doing this sh*t, and it's over." It’s not the worst swear word in the book, but it's hardly eloquent and very unpresidential.

6. Bush's New Ways to Harm the Country

Bush: New Ways to Harm the Country

During Bush’s campaign for a second term he inadvertently suggested that his administration was plotting new ways to harm the United States. While signing a bill for defense spending Bush said, "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." He certainly delivered on that promise.

I believe president bush will probably go in the history books as one of the greatest american leaders of all time. Kennedy is another president that quickly comes to mind that faced security challenges as large scale and comparible to 9/11 with the cuban missile crisis. Bush did well with what he had to work with. Many people disagree with how he delt with certain issues. But when the united states was attacked on 9/11 everyone was in agreement with what he wanted to do about it, some even thought we should have struck at everyone who had ever threatened us period. I do not agree with that but he reacted swiftly and you didnt hear all of this crap that people are saying now about it. Everyone was on board with what ever he wanted to do and the price tag didnt matter then.

You're absolutely right Spike TV! During his second term, the public saw right thruough G W Bush for what he really was. A RAT IN CHEAP CLOTHING! Compare him to Dumb Donald on FAT ALBERT AND THE COSBY KIDS, Dumb Donald is Albert Einstein despite Einstein not being good in Math.

If Bush ran against HOWDY DOODY for President, I would vote for Howdy Doody WITH Clarabell as his running mate. Even Ben Franklin couldn't any worse than this Mortimer Nerd.

Dubya's record speaks for itself. There is only one true test: Are you better off today than you were 8 years ago? Well, are you? Is our country better off as Bush leaves office than it was when he entered? Hardly. He took office with no deficit and a hefty excess. He leaves us trillions in deficit and more to come through his ILL-ADVISED policies and a stupid, unneccesary war!

Bush is the dumbest SOB I have ever seen in my life and if you think he did a good job then maybe I am wrong cause the only thing worse than a dumb leader is a dumb follower. We are in the worst economical state since the great depression. Each day more houses are foreclosed, more people lose their jobs, the american dollar loses loses more and more of its value, and more soldiers lose their lives for a war that we americans were misled about in the first place. Now if all this creates even a decent president then maybe it is time for Jesus to come back. To me it seems like people only defend George (because I will never put the title of president in front of his name) because they are sympathetic that so many people talk bad about him. Those that say he did the best he can just make him look even more pathetic because the best a president can do should not make the country worst in almost every statistic. Futhermore, PRESIDENT OBAMA is not GOD almighty but thank GOD that he is not George Bush.

    Re-Henryv:

Well before you go writing something up, and calling people dumb, you should proof read your material first. Bush did the best he could with what he had. He, and the rest of the U.S.A., were dealt a bad hand the past few years, and like the rest of us, he did the best he could. A lot was accomplished during his presidency; it¿s just that the bad overshadowed the good. Bush had this great idea to bring all the political parties together, the only problem is that nobody could agree on anything forcing him to make a final decision with little to no help. If we are lucky Obama will do a better job of bringing people together, but the fact of the matter is, if we cant figure out how to work, and make decisions as a country (not individual parties looking for glory), that one person (the President) will always be the person who all the blame falls on. I give him credit, would not have wanted his job, and thank him for his service. God Bless America¿¿.

It truly feels like the Bush presidency wasn't a disgraceful period in American history, but rather a really, really bad sitcom. Like if Whos the Boss combined with F-troop.

Its the story of the dumb kid with the big heart get to run his dad's boss's company (old Mr. Reagan), but in the end all he does is destroys the company, buys lots of toys for his buddies, and raids the executive liquor cabinet.

I really don't know if Americans will end up holding that much resentment towards Bush. Rather, I think, Bush's terms will be looked at as a sad part of American history, like the Salem Witch Trials. Where fear, and politics, trumped reason and cooperation.

The only redeeming part of the whole thing is really the things he screwed up on a daily basis were literally hilarious.
