Jay Leggett's impressive career has rendered him a triple threat: writer, producer and actor. Leggett began his career in Wisconsin, where he spent five years working in the local paper mill before getting a degree in theater at the University of Wisconsin. He spent the next couple of years crisscrossing the United States as an actor before finally landing in Chicago and studying under the legendary Del Close in the Improv Olympic. There he shared the stage with other up-and-coming actors, including Chris Farley, Mike Meyers and Andy Dick. Leggett eventually co-founded "Blue Velveeta," an Improv Olympic comedy troupe that won the National Team Comedy Championship and is known to be one of Chicago's most successful comedy teams.

After landing a spot in the groundbreaking show "In Living Color" alongside the likes of Jim Carrey and Jamie Foxx, Leggett left Chicago for LA. Since then, he has appeared in a multitude of critically-acclaimed hit television shows, including "E.R.," "N.Y.P.D. Blue," "Ally McBeal" and "The Drew Carey Show."

Leggett's creative talents don't end with acting. He has written and directed award-winning theater from Chicago to London's West End. His first feature film script, "Employee of the Month," which he wrote with former Blue Velveeta teammate Mitch Rouse, was chosen for the Sundance Film Festival. Leggett also produced and co-starred in the film with Matt Dillon and Christina Applegate. He and writing partner Mitch Rouse then went on to write the hit Paramount Pictures comedy "Without A Paddle."

Leggett is the creator of one of Los Angeles' largest regular comedy events, The Comedy Cocktail, which is in its third year and counting in Hollywood. He is also producing and directing a new revival of the sketch comedy troupe "The Lemmings."
