In a direct appeal to the very lowest common denominator, the directorial precociousness of Paul W.S. Anderson is at work again in Death Race, which is in theaters today. Starring Jason Statham, Death Race takes place in the future, at which point it apparently becomes common sense to take the nation's most dangerous criminals, arrange them in groups, and provide them with transportation and heavy artillery. But Death Race looks like it accomplishes what it sets out to do, which is to take us on an adrenaline-infused ride full of crashing cars and things blowing up. For your healthy dose of male-dominated agression, hit the jump and watch the trailer.
