Adam Lambert Finally Comes Out in Rolling Stone Interview

June 9, 2009

After months of public speculation about his sexuality, American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert has publicly acknowledged that he is gay in the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone. No way!

Lambert started off by saying that he "doesn’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that he’s gay." He also discusses how as a child he started to realize that he "wasn't like every other boy."

Just a few weeks after he was spotted holding hands with alleged boyfriend Drake LaBry at a LA nightclub, Adam finally provided some honest answers to the questions about his sexuality and explained why he waited to finally reveal it.

"I'm proud of my sexuality. I embrace it. It's just another part of me," Lambert says in the article. "Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, 'I'm going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler.' ... I didn't want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bulls***. I need to be able to explain myself in context."

I am so glad Adam finally cleared that up. It was really hard for me to tell if this black eyeliner-wearing musical theater singer was into boys or girls.
