Snooki Cashes in with a Cookie Diet

Reality television is bad for your health, or so says Jersey Shore’s Snooki. The pint-sized reality television and self-described “guidette” packed on the pounds while filming the latest season of the hit MTV show. The 4’9” Snooki now weighs 110 pounds and wants to lose 10 pounds. To do so she has enlisted the help of Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet and become the company’s spokesperson. Snookie tells Us Weekly, “I used to be fit. Now I look at myself, and I'm like, what the hell happened?" Snooki’s diet now consists of six 90-calorie cookies plus a small meal a day. Snooki must also curtail her alcohol intake, which will be difficult seeing as she’s still shooting Jersey Shore. [Us Magazine]

Kate Gosselin’s Rumored Boob Job

Kate Gosselin’s rack is noticeably bigger this year than last and it long been rumored that she underwent cosmetic surgery. Now it’s being reported that Kate consulted her bodyguard (and rumored beau) Steve Neild on the type of breasts she should get installed. Apparently Neild drove Kate to her plastic surgeon and according to a source, “"Kate was going to have one kind of breast augmentation, but she changed her mind after talking to Steve about what would look best.” Kate has long denied having had boob job, saying earlier this year when questioned about it: "Plastic surgery? Please. Who has time to even think about it, let alone do it?" Kate received a free tummy tuck in 2004. While receiving the procedure she also requested a boob job but was denied. [Huffington Post]

Garry Shider, longtime member of Parliament-Funkadelic whose groundbreaking guitar work earned him a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has died at the age of 56. Shider was known to fans as "Starchild" or "Diaperman" because of the loincloth he often wore onstage. Shider's son, Garrett, said today that his father had been diagnosed with brain and lung cancer in late March. He then briefly went out on tour one last time but had to stop because of his failing health. "He was a beautiful man who had a beautiful heart, who loved his fans just as much as they loved him," Garrett Shider said. "I'm sure if he had the choice, he would have passed on a tour bus, because he loved playing music, playing for the fans." RIP Garry Shider [Pitchfork]

Billboard Names Michael Jackson’s Biggest Hit

Michael Jackson had a very large number of hits in his career, but apparently his most popular pop jam wasn't what you'd think it might be. According to Billboard, "Say Say Say," MJ’s 1983 hit duet with Paul McCartney, is the most popular Jackson song of all time. Even though "Billie Jean" was at #1 for seven weeks, "Say Say Say" was at the top spot for six weeks and the hit stayed in the top 10 longer. Those Beatles sure are good at makin' hits. [Billboard]
