The Expendables are Back, Minus One

The Expendables 2 is a go. The film’s producers have just dropped a teaser poster and stunning plot revelation at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The Expendables are set to return with guns a-blazing in a story of revenge. A teaser poster has hit the web and it’s pretty damn cool. The film looks like it’s definitely keeping its retro, ‘80s throwback action film feel.

A plot outline has revealed one of the first film’s key cast members is getting knocked off. According to Nu Image:
The Expendables are back and this time it's personal! After Tool (Mickey Rourke), the heart and soul of the Expendables, is brutally murdered on a mission, his comrades swear to avenge him. They're not the only ones who want blood. Tool’s beautiful young and wild daughter Fiona embarks on her own revenge mission, complicating matters when she is captured and ransomed by a ruthless dictator plotting to destroy a resistance movement. Now Barney and the Expendables must risk everything to save her and humanity.

While Mickey Rourke will supposedly only make a cameo, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Steve Austin, Terry Crews, and Randy Couture are expected to return. Bruce Willis will also be back in an expanded role as the film’s villain. The film doesn’t have a confirmed director yet (Stallone wants to focus on acting in the film) or a definite locked-in cast. Production is expected to start soon and the film will hit theaters August 2012.
