NFL Hits Don't Have to be Legal, In Order to be Awesome

bydavidbreitman   October 19, 2009 at 2:18PM  |  Views:  |  Comment

What the Carolina Panthers lack in talent, desire and a functioning quarterback, they more than make up for with unnecessarily vicious special teams play.

During the second quarter of an irrelevant football game between two of the least interesting franchises in the NFL, Carolina cornerback Dante Wesley decided that legal hits aren’t quite as much fun as absolutely pummeling unsuspecting punt returners, and proceeded to give a friendly concussion to the Buccaneers' Clifton Smith.

Wesley was suspended from the game, a small fight broke out and Jake Delhomme was still an embarrassment to quarterbacks around the league.
