Google Earth Used to Find Pot Field

by Reverend_Danger   January 29, 2009 at 5:03PM  |  Views: 190

Police in Switzerland have used Google Earth to find a 2-acre field of marijuana, a stash of 1.2 tons of harvested pot, and $780,000 worth of cash and “valuables.”

The gang behind the grow operation had attempted to camouflage it by hiding it inside a corn field, but nothing hides from the giant glowing eye of Google.

Swiss prosecuter Gabi Alkalay is completing her investigation next month, and plans to charge 16 suspects involved in a drug trade which allegedly shipped over 7.7 tons of pot between 2004 and 2008.
